1956 Ukrainian tango
#ukraine #traditional #50s

I appreciate that!
My pleasure
How close is he when he sings to you in the morning 🤩
I've found for you video "В.Івасюк "Водограй" і Смерічка Л.Дутковского". It's must be early 70s. The names in titles it's names of composer and founder of the bend. Vocalists are Nazariy Yaremchuk (the real legend of Ukrainian music) and the band 'Smerichka". On the end of this video you can see Volodymyr Ivasiyk, an other legend Ukrainian composer. Unfortunately, both of them are dead now but they was ones of the most important persons in Ukrainian music, when it got it's right for existing after sad period of repressions in 60s. Thank you!👏
Thank you for watching my reactions, I have a lovely list of 60s/70’s music
The song is not directly related to the video.
The song was written in 1932. It is about a "Hutsul" man (Hutsuls are an ethnographic group of Ukrainians living in the Carpathians), who is in love with a Hutsul girl Ksenia, but the summer passes and he already loves another. The Hutsul people are temperamental, hot-tempered (perhaps similar to Italians) And the story in the song is just as full of feelings, passionate.
The video is an adaptation of Ivan Franko's play(1894). The events actually take place in the same region of Ukraine. Only the story is different there.
The play is called "Stolen Happiness". The story is very emotional. I think Shakespeare would appreciate it. The action takes place ~1870. Mykhailo and Anna loved each other and swore eternal fidelity. But they took Mikhail to the imperial army, and Anna's brothers, in order not to share the dowry with their sister, said that Mikhail had died. They forcibly gave the girl away to the mercenary Mykola, stealing from her not only her inheritance, but also her happiness. Years pass. Resigned to fate, Anna lives, and her family seems happy to her fellow villagers. But the "resurrected" Mykhailo suddenly appears, who became a gendarme - Anna's former love explodes with new force. Now Mykhailo is already stealing happiness from Mykola. But he, Mykhailo, was not destined to be happy either.
And how many times have you seen this film 🎥

We both do ❤️
I am delighted with how quickly you find interesting songs!😯 Together with you, I will learn about new talented performers from different countries👑 and about Ukrainian solo artists and groups.❤ You are an amazingly interesting person💎 and your reactions to the songs are fun to watch🥰
Always love your comments ❤️❤️
Thank You!
The song lyric don’t affect movie crop, totally. But it is the great song.
Thanks for popularization of UA culture!
my pleasure and thank you for sharing your insight
Randevu band has a modern version of Hutsulka Ksenia as well as Oksana Mukha (in tango style) I'm sure you'll like them both.
I like this song in tango style as well
It is very interesting to watch as a person from another country see your culture. Thank you for your reaction!
I still can’t believe only one person has mention that my introduction was in Ukrainian 😂🤣😂
It’s not a movie, just a music video to the song :)
Wow a 1956 music Video 😂🤣😂🤣
I wanted to add this song in my playlist for your ask songs of 60-70) but i thought, that this song was from 1939, when first was showed operetta. And I could not find a record of performance of "Gutsulka Ksenia" of 1956. 🥺Yaroslav Barnych - author of the operetta, he emigrated first to Germany, then to USA, and used to live over there in Cleveland since 1944.❤🌻
ky-iv
actually, 1939 - year of operetta, but song was ealier, 1936-1938. Also, there is a legend about gutsulka Ksenia, but might be somebody knows it better, then me.😍

BTW: when you kept saying "oi oi" and especially the little wink ... just slayed me.
Good stuff unc. Keep it going!
Thanks Eva, I think I have to venture into reacting old films/comedies from Ukraine
Good job!
Thank you ❤️
Thank you, Momo! 🇺🇦🇬🇧 I thought about this song to recommend you. 🙂 I like it very much. My mother also sang it (at home).. There are many various versions of this song by different singers.
Great minds Nick 👊🏾
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Oh my god where did you find this retro... it's incredibly old.. you're amazing, thank you))
No problem 😊
I definitely advise you Sophia Rotarou "Draw me the night" of 1965 (Софія Ротару "Намалюй мені ніч")
Here is another hit of the Ukrainian 70s.

You definitely have to tell me who did you watch this with when you first watched it
@@UNCLEMOMO With mom 😇 this is one of her favorite musical movies (because it's the soundtrack to the movie "Chervona ruta"). This movie is generally full of great songs. The vocal of young Rotarou is simply amasing 😍
There are a million versions of this song. including modern ones. Here, on "The Voice". ruclips.net/video/lHNTFGVLbqg/видео.html
Kyiv - Ukrainian pronunciation of the name. Kiev - Russian.
For a very long time, the Russian names of Ukrainian cities were used all over the world (Russian names of Belarusian cities still prevail). Only after 2014 did Ukrainian names become more common.
Although, the Russian explanation of the origin of the name "Ukraine" is still used more often in the world than the Ukrainian one. This is very sad. But with the countries that were part of the empires, this happens often. What the empire says about you is more important than what you say about yourself.
I prefer their performance. ruclips.net/video/eq2ENtUDssQ/видео.html
It’s always the way Nat😞 thanks for the link I will check it out much appreciated 👊🏾
Go-tsool-ka…… named Kse-nia from Carpathian’s mountain ⛰️in Ukraine 🇺🇦
Thank you Oleg 👊🏾

Dzidzo "Василина"
There've been a few remakes on this song from modern Ukrainian artists, including Malarevsky (you've reacted to him before) and YAKTAK (not sure if you've reacted to this one). I strongly recommend to check one of the remakes out, because this song sounds great in a male voice (as it should be sung since the lyrics are written from the man's perspective). Oh, and there was a nice interpretation of it by Dakh Daughters, but I think it was instrumental - sounded great anyeay)))
Sounds like a fantastic collaboration
@@UNCLEMOMO Oh, no, this isn't a collaboration - they did remakes separately
Ukrainian Tango musically speaking. Listen to some tango songs like Besame Mucho and whatnot, also find the version of Hutsulka Ksenia sang by a guy. I think Vopli Vidiplyasova had a cover of it.
Compare the melodies, the rythms.
It is tango on a musical level .
Will do 👊🏾

I’m I not saying it right?
Speaking of old music. Here's a selection of Ukrainian funk from the 70s. There are many tracks. You can make a reaction to the first two songs.

Brilliant thank you Nat
I really want to recommend a song to you Viktor Verba - Лелеки ( ruclips.net/video/AVA8dOrxYuo/видео.html )
It was written in honor of a 15-year-old teenager who died in 2015 in Kharkiv. Then there was the Unity March, in which he took part, but died in a terrorist attack organized by pro-Russian people.
He’s a great singer
@@UNCLEMOMO thank you for the answer 😊❤️🇺🇦
