It seems strange that in 2021 we still rely on sending in forms, passport photos, and a check by mail. Our government is inefficient because it doesn’t try and employ modern solutions to solve issues with efficiency. They also need to stop using the pandemic as an excuse for poor performance and delays for business and government.
This is so stupid it’s 2021 why are they acting like they can’t just print them out. 2 weeks I went and got my Mexican Passport in the same day at the consulate.
I sent in my renewal early 2020 just when the COVID hit, and it still took 8 months before I received the passport. It is not backlog, but these civil servants just vacationing from home instead of WFH. Hardly anyone apply for renewal during that time. It is now making it to the news as the huge increase of people now want to travel.
This government has not evolved as the world has, they are more interested in their pet programs,pet projects, attaching what they want to major bills that need to be signed and lining their pockets.
We are a third world country or a poor country or a developing country or whatever the terminology is. Homeless are everywhere. There aren't enough jobs. The few jobs there are don't pay enough to cover rent and other expenses. And the public transportation system is pathetic compared to Japan and Germany.
This is a poor 3rd world country. Have you been to Houston, Los Angeles or San Francisco or a say West Virginia or Alabama? This country is living on credit and is broke.

There is *nothing* outside the US that we don’t have better inside the US. Beaches, mountains, museums, forests, rivers, lakes, deserts, glaciers, you name it, we have it. Forget about the passport.
How is it possible for folks to flood the south border and come here without a passport yet the people that live here cant move around the world as freely.....is this the FREEDOM that we have.....looks like a farmer keeping track of his flock so to speak

I got my Moldova passport the same day. Went at 8 am, got it at 3 pm. 4 months is unacceptable.

Mailing my old passport and 10 new photos to an address in China was acceptable, paying for the service with Xbox tipped me off.
It usually takes 4 months to process a passport application, but your face still shows up in the system.
