I've always thought this suit was a visually-pleasing design. It's controversial among Spidey fans because of the story from which it came, but it makes a wonderful figure.
I agree, although I MUCH prefer the design when the logos match the secondary color of the suit. When they match, the logos bleed into the rest of the suit so that it sort of flows better, you know? When they don't match (black logos with blue everywhere else), the torso tends to look like a box, ESPECIALLY if the shoulders aren't broad enough. I tried doing a black w/ blue highlights over the original ML figure, as well as metallic blue everywhere on the mafex one. WAY better imo
This is great for $20, especially for anyone wanting to just fill in a spot in a Spiderverse display and missed out on the original release. But this does not compare at all to the MAFEX, and if there any Big Ben Reilly fans I’m sure that’s the version they’d get

Only because of fan backlash. They really did want to reset the status quo. Peter was successful and married to a model by then. Ben Reilly was going to be a "back to basics". What REALLY pissed people off was that Aunt May died thinking a clone was her nephew!

Marvel legends or DC or anything action figures . looking for to picking this one up as my next spider man figure . already got my web man . This figure looks great! But i will say i am slightly disappointed with the eyes, they could've given us bigger eyes than that. Good figure aside from that though and great review from you as always Shartimus!
I was going back and forth if I wanted to get this figure or not and having watched your review, I think I might pass. The lack of a Riley head and the smaller eyes just ruin it. I'm glad they did the smaller eyes for the regular Spider-Man since that was more accurate to his older looks, but Riley had the bigger eyes. I do like the blue better though...
I definitely agree with you, the head sculpt should be the version of Mark Bagley.. I'm huge 90's/early 2000s Spidey , I see him in that iteration as I grow up. I still prefer the Absorbing man wave in terms of Aesthetics...but, an updated body articulation is needed. I'm sold, seeing those action poses! I can't wait to have mine ohohohoho 😂 Yep. Hope we could get the toe articulation, but I'm totally happy of what I'm seeing! 😁

I didn't get the chance of getting the retro Spider-Man, so I think this new figure will be a great replacement (for the moment) of it in my collection.
Good review the only problem I have with legends spider-man figures is that they could at the very least give us some more accessories because most of the time it's a reused body and the current body is perfect (well they could update it for pinless joints) they could at least give us the three sets of hands and an alternate unmasked head the hands have been reused so many times that they probably don't cost much anymore and the excuse of packaging costing a lot is a load of bologna because they've been doing it for 6 years it would just be nice if we got a bit more because while I love these figures it's starting to get ridiculous

Barely got mines on the target site last night. They stealthily put it out available for shipping last night and I only found out because a Reddit post. Only lasted 15 minutes for it to be out of stock. Target is scummy for that. It's so hard hunting for marvel legends in California. You will very rarely see spiderman and avengers figures out in the wild. It's completely random. Cali gets it in small stocks. Always 2-6 in stock. The other problem is almost everyone working in the toy department is collector so it makes it very difficult.
I have a feeling that the amazing fantasy spidey coming out might be that spidey your asking for. Well it could be, who knows. Im just hoping it comes with the web pits, gotta have those.

You know what would have been really cool you could have used the battle damaged Peter Parker head with the scars and the black eye from the to pack with the classic Kraven I think that would work on the new black suit Spider-Man and if I had that I would take like a lot of pictures with that and I would be posing those two characters Non-Stop I'll be having so much fun posing Kraven and the new black suit Spider-Man fighting with each other I really think the battle damaged Peter Parker head would work on the new figure but it's your choice not to use it and if you don't want to then that's perfectly fine with me I just think that head would be really cool on the new figure
Sorry to say, but in my opinion if Ben Reilly had taken over as Spider-man we probably would have been spared one more day. I sometimes dream of that universe, it's nice, Peter and Mary Janes daughter is in high school and Ben is still kicking it as Spider-man. Ah well we can only dream.
