I know a lot about Weird Al, but I didn't know about this appearance. And this is terrific! Pat Sajak probably needed a hearing check after this interview.

Pat was genuinely delighted by the Mr. Frump song, heh heh.

In response to SSMProductions360: At 3:25, Weird Al does not drop the F-bomb. He was thinking and might have been ready to say "In fact, it was about 10 years ago". Or maybe he was going to say, "Five years ago," but realized it was actually "Ten". He's pretty clean. I've been watching a lot of Al on RUclips this week; and I saw one of his concerts where his mother and father introduced him at the beginning of the show. He just oozes respect.

Weird Al posted on his youtube page a while ago a video recording of messages he left for Bermuda in 1985, and he said 'bitch', and it was even in context of a dog... and I was still blown away! Not offended in the least, just didn't think he knew those words!

Wow, there were still Beta units around in 1989? That's amazing.
Too bad UHF came out during the Summer of 1989. What with Batman, Ghostbusters 2, and Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade out in theatres.

Why didn't he play the whole song of Mr. Frump? He should have talked about it more like how he came up with it.

I never even knew Pat Sajak had his own talk show! I hope Weird Al was also a contestant on a celebrity Wheel of Fortune as well.

I think Sajak hated losing control for more than one second...one of the reasons he failed so hard at talk show host.

There were so many off the wall 1980's personalities back in these days and all the interviewers were strickt stuffed shirts. I wonder how Elvira would have been treated by Pat (Wheel Of Fortune was my lucky break) Sajack?
