I use walkie talkies plugged into a lite brite game.
What kinda range do you get on that?
Why you gotta tarnish lite brite, we already know it doesn't have a flippy screen. Though it is f.00024. Blurry.
@@geraldundone frm Toronto to Chiangmai, Thailand
That explains the loud hum that follows your words in your last video. Lol, much love Camera Conspiracies.
@@geraldundone About 35 cm :)
Glad I found you. With both you and Curtis Judd I feel confident that I will be accurately informed without bias. Keep up the great work. 👍
I'm glad you did too! Thanks for the kind words.
This was so we'll done and so true about Deity. I really like what they're doing. Also, you freaking crack me up, dude. Love your stuff and hope to see you at the next NAB!
Thanks, Brandon! Appreciate that. And yeah, next time for sure!
Congrats on reaching over 51K subs over the past week. Looking forward to seeing you break 100k in the next month or two. The quality of your videos are second to none.
Thanks, Phil! I love my regular injections of liquid encouragement from you. Cheers!
Thanks buddy. My wife and I needed these. Buying via your aff link now. Thank you for your hard work Gerald! - JD
Thanks! Happy to help. I hope it works well for your purpose. Cheers!
Gerald Undone I went to buy but I guess these don't come out for a couple months.. June or something. I'll be grabbing tho via your link. Thx again man!
Great hanging with you Gerald. And yes the deity system is awesome 🙌
You too! Pleasure meeting you. 😃👊
Would love to see a Rode Wireless Go review from you
@GoodNews You took the words right out of my mouth!
#MeToo
Fully agree!
Love what Deity and Aperture are doing with their product lines, but you got to admit, the Rode Wireless Go is the new benchmark for so many situations.
Rode Wireless GO doesn't work out of line of sight :(
If it's one thing above all I appreciate from a reviewer, beyond a technical assessment of quality, it's how much value the product offers to different people. I'd dismissed this as more than I needed but the review was like a friend's hand calmly descending on my shoulder, asking me to reconsider, which I did. Subbed!
Wow, 2 of the best RUclips reviewers in one video... sounds good!
😂👍
Your reviews are some of the best on youtube.
Thanks a lot, Jonathan!
The amount of honesty with you community is awesome, thank you Gerald.
Very useful. Thanks!
nice way to review and update from the production sample. 😍
Thanks! Cheers. 😃🙏
Such an amazing editing! It was so interesting how you added more information in between! It made me smile everytime 😁 great job!👏🤩
Thanks a lot, Art! I'm really glad you liked it. Cheers! 😃🙏
Thx for the great info! :D The biggest negative with these is that the deity 2 channel receiver is super bulky. Compare that to a Sony UPW P03d with UWP-D21s receivers. Obviously more expensive but much smaller package.
agree, it's really bulky
I've been waiting for this!!! Thank you Gerald Undone!
Thanks for being patient! 😃
This looks like a sick kit!
Yeah, boi! 😜
They are actually shit. Sound quality almost unusable.
Great vid! The audio cutouts during your test were giving me an anxiety attack! 🤣🤣
Great review, commentary, and production 👍🏾
Thanks so much! 🙏😃
This looks like my next investment for film sound gear. Thanks for the great find.
Cheers, Todd! 😃👍
Great I actually been looking for a system Dude. Well done or well Undone. Whichever you prefer it’s on point
😃🙏
yo gerald. let me add my voice to the chorus: your videos are as good as they get. . You and Caleb have made me feel comfortable and confident with tech that I have to use for work (with no other guidance than youtube). lots of good youtubers in this space, but you are just outstanding and you have my sub as of today!
Thank you very much, Jeffrey. That means a lot and I'm happy to have a new subscriber. Cheers!
Thank you for this wonderful video about this product, I am very interested in them now.
Thanks, John. Cheers! 😃
You knocked this out of the park Gerald. Thanks for the great review! Will def pick this up. Wish I had the opportunity to play with it more at NAB, but getting the chance to chat/meet up with you and other creators was even better. 👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks, Brandon! It was nice to meet you. Hope you had a great time at NAB!
Awesome review. Very usefull. Thanks for sharing it.
I just got an email that my Rode Wireless Go shipped from B&H. Just a month ago I bough two Sennheiser XSW-D portable Lavaliere sets and they are working out quite well. This is for sound reinforcement at church where the AV team are volunteers and not that skilled. So using the transmitter with the mic built in should make life easier for the speaker and the AV person who has to put it on them.
But I agree that the Deity system looks to be a much more professional set of equipment. I may want that for my own video projects. Thanks for a great channel. I subscribed today.
Thanks for the kind words and for sharing your experience, Robert! Appreciate the subscribe as well. Cheers!
I’m exited for the wireless Rode one coming out
Are you speaking about the Rode Go? Is that any better?
blooper was awesome
🙏😂
Perfect, I’ve been waiting for this review! Excited for the Rode wireless Go, but need to receive two transmitters. Thanks Gerald!
Thanks! Appreciate your patience. 😃👊
Thanks, Gerald. Sounds better than the RWG to me!
Great video! I love your choice, Gerald!
Thanks, Clement!
I NEED to like this Thricely twice! :D
I watched a bunch of reviews of wireless Recs, begenning with the NUX B3 & similar stuff bc they are very compact XLR options, but rapidly realized it was not reliable, so the game needed to get up... & after several videos, as always, I found the 1 dispensing the requirement of seeking for any other . Great job!
Now I'll finally be able to record Daddy on the Moon, without carrying a boring 2M km cable over space... Given the tests you made, the range should be enough.
PS: I had to like it once + , since 3x2 remains even...
Another great video mate, thank you.
Thanks, Bernard! Cheers.
This is going to work fantastic with my Zoom h8 recorder ! Thanks Gerald 👌🏼👌🏼
Looks like a great system, the guy on DSLR Video Shooter built a totally portable audio, it’s very cool 😎.
Glad I found your video - great review. I was leaning toward the Sennheiser AXV. I recently rented it and liked how easy it was to use and the sound, but this does seem like a better value.
Awesome video and review Gerald 😄 when money permits I'll definitely be purchasing a Connect keep up the stellar work man!.
Thanks a lot! Appreciate that. 🙏
Missed you at NAB, bro! Was keeping an eye out for you but I’ll catcha next year. Also, Deity … thank you
I know, right?! You can walk around the place for days and not see some people. I missed quite a few people despite spending full days on the floor. Next time!
Looks like a great product! Everyone really seems to love Deity, as a company, so I wasn't surprised they impressed you.
Yeah, I've been really impressed with them and enjoy working with them.
Great video, and you show as much dedication in following-up as Deity do.
Did you guys entered a contest ? 😁
Welcome back buddy. This review is well done and timely. Thanks for taking another crack at it. I was just about to pull the trigger on the Rode Wireless Go, but now I'm so torn. I hope you can get the system from Rode and compare the two. The form factor on the Rode is oh so nice tho.
PS thanks for sharing your trip on the gram.
Thanks, Rolaundo! Glad you enjoyed the IG stories. I'll see if I can get the Rode system.

Welcome back home from Vegas. That 180 to 200m range is insane. This would make for a great spy tech mic system.
Uh oh. What are you up to? 😜
I've been using my Saramonic UWMIC9 dual wireless lav transmitter to 1 receiver at $399 bundle since 2017. Just wishing to upgrade the microphones to a Sennheiser or something but keep the Saramonic UWMIC9 for dual transmitter to 1 receiver.
The system looks good, but the mic sounds muffled, no comparison with the Sennheiser audio quality, which is crisp and clear. Perhaps if you change only the microphone it would be better.
Audio technica has been doing this frequency hopping tech for years and their system 10 video mic sounds very very good
well its normal theyd listen.. theyre a mic company.. :p

Ayyy good one
Great content!
Yooo man! You look and talk like a hollywood actor / comedian haha! Anyway great review -- gonna get one when it ships out!! Cheers!
Thanks so much! Glad you liked the video. Cheers!
I've got Diety's wired lav to plug into iPhone/iPad as a backup or quick setup and was really impressed at how nice it is for the price. This is a whole other level of awesome. Sold.
The V Lav? Yeah, it's very affordable for the quality.

I feel so safe in your arms.
Thanks you are so great!
Great review :) Could you do a follow up review on your NAB packing list, and how that worked out for you?
That's not a bad idea. Thanks for the suggestion and kind words. Cheers!
"What's happening" Gerald?! You, sir, have truly enlightened and informed me on so many aspects of filmmaking for which I will be ever grateful. You are crazy though:) Gotta love it! I especially enjoy how infamously technical you always get and yet maintain the uncanny ability to seamlessly infuse all of the meaningful, insightful and practical information with that very-much dry and unique humour of yours. Thank you for entertaining and helping us; I'll be sure to hit that dislike button 4 times on this one. What a champ! *side-note: There is only one downside to indulging in these ever-so-informative, technically saturated, concise and practically applicable videos of yours... Living in this precious third world country where all/most of these awesome products are really hard to come by (other examples include Aputure and Black Magic Design). When you overcome the scarcity limitation you are soon faced with more: namely the poor of value of our currency that is mostly owed to corruption and the mismanagement of public funds/taxes. So once you've saved up enough ZAR to buy it on Amazon/B&H Photo, for a really good price when compared with the one shop that sells it locally, our tax-man at customs slaps you on the cheek with his "very reasonable" and dirty import tax palm. Lastly, when you finally have it in your hands, all chuffed and proud you go on RUclips to discover the release of a newer, updated model in the US. Haha! Ah well, as they say "Content is King" :D
Thank you very much for your thoughtful comment, Phillip. And for sharing your experiences. I appreciated hearing about that. Your comment made my day. Cheers!
I am happy to hear! You have made my day more than once. This channel really has too little subscribers for its sheer awesomeness. Cheers!
great review
i bought the rode wireless go. really happy with it for an amatuer like its pretty sweet. deity though are literally doing everything that we really need in this market. my next purchase will be the v mic location kit and ill probably replace the rode wireless with this model when my needs change.
It's definitely a nice system and I like the dual transmitters with a single receiver. Fantastic
I also like the fact that you can feed the two channels into a stereo L/R mono separation outout, and use that extra out as a headphone jack. Particularly to monitor just the wireless system pre-camera. Excellent!
I also like the fact that you can remove and change the transmitter and receiver antennas. I have had several Sennheiser systems were the transmitter antenna has taken a serious beating. So, replacing or switching to the hard antenna on the fly is great. Brilliant!
Also love the fact that I can change a transmitter settings from the camera receiver side… (if I got that information correct). Nothing worse than walking on stage to tweak a transmitter sensitivity. TO do that at the camera is a game changer. love it! What? LOVE IT!.. whoa, too loud, you were clipping!!
What I DO NOT like is the built-in batteries. Sadly, that’s a deal breaker right there, because there is going to be a time when the units didn’t get charged because you're juggle too many things at one. Or you were caught up in some other detail and that recharge got missed. OR, you are filming a day long event and now they decide to go into the evening with an added agenda and you have to charge a wireless system ‘instantly'. Having a box of AA batteries on hand at anytime saves the day “everytime”. How fast can you recharge the transmitter and receiver? Likely not fast enough.. The receiver isn’t as bad because you could likely provide power to that unit from the camera side. But a dead transmitter is game over. So, I’m reluctant to take a chance. Trust me, I can certainly remember to charge them for the start of a day, but if it dies during the day, you’re done.. or Undone!
And, rechargeable batteries do not last forever. What happens when the batteries 'start' to lose their charge a little quicker. Can they be replaced? (I’m sure they can) but it’s another issue to be concerned about. Could they not have the side open, slide in two AA batteries and you're instantly back online? It’s not unheard of.
Bottom line, I wish Deity had a quick (on site) solution for this problem. I don’t even want to pull transmitters during a break or lunch time just to charge them and then get the talent back wired up. It’s too stressful. Changing two batteries takes a second.
That’s my 12 cents. I'm Undone Writin' :-)
Thanks for sharing all that! I see where you're coming from.
I can say that a USB power bank works quite well. That obviously isn't something you're going to put on the talent, but it can keep the receiver juiced and it can charge the Txs pretty quickly on location. But I do see your point.
Cheers!
Hmmm, I wonder if there is a thin power pack that could be Velcro’d to the transmitter in the case of an emergency.
And I didn’t see any information in your response regarding an internal battery replacement program. It’s likely too early, and definitely not a beneficial marketing feature upon the release of s new product, but in a year or two, those batteries could be substandard by that time. Sending in your units for ‘repair’ (battery replacement) is also a drag. All of this could be addressed with a basic AA battery carriage. Or is a pair of AA batteries not strong enough to power this system. Hmm, maybe that’s the issue??
Regardless... I want a solution because I want to buy into that system. :-) I’m asking you all this and I should be asking Deity.
I'd hit them up on Twitter if you can. They're pretty quick responders on there.
I agree. Built in batteries makes this dead on arrival for the ENG environment I work in. Being able to throw in a fresh set of AA batteries is a must. Absolute must. This is a great shame as I would have been interested.
Built in batteries puts this kit firmly in the consumer arena with things like DJI mic or Rode Go.
He said what I felt during watching this video... Buy this!
Cheer up Gerald even though a fellow Canadian Camera Conspiracies didn't pick you up as his favorite 7 YT channels. But you have a lot more subscriber numbers than he does have.
I was in the follow up he did: ruclips.net/video/DNX4Tf0P4tw/видео.html
And I'm in his featured channels sidebar. So, I'm pretty honoured as it is.
Yeah, I saw the other video with a long list of U Tubers, but after subscribing many channels and watching their videos, I concluded that U simply excels all the others, period.
Even I didn't get notice for your reply. OK, it's now a part of YT conspiracy theory.
another great review but the product looks so... big. The 'rode wireless go' caught my eye recently. It looks so quick and small. What do you think of the rode wireless go?
oh. I commented too quickly since you did comment: ruclips.net/video/dyZVgvjQYwE/видео.html
Still, it would be really interesting to hear your comments on the Go after you have a chance to test it!
I will say, the pack looks way smaller than the rode link wireless lav kit. It definitely looks bigger that the rode wireless go setup.
The only drawback from the rode wireless go is that there is not actual LAV, just a box sitting on your shirt or jacket. If having a small microphone out of the box is what you want, the deity is probably better.
The removable antenna is such a good idea! It can be replaced easily if damaged. This is half the price Sony's comparable dual receiver URX wireless lav kit!
Agreed! And yeah, I like the Sony kit, but you only get 1 unit for the same price.
I think the Rode Wireless Go might be the new pound for pound, dollar for dollar winner of BEST Wireless Mic System for the Money right now. I dont think any of these mic companies saw these things coming.
just a note abut RF power vs range: Each time you double power (ie 10 to 20 mW) you get around a 35% increase in range. So 100mW vs 10mW is a bout twice the range, not ten times.
Great video Gerald... Loved it. Would love to see your review and thoughts on the Rode Wireless Go
Thanks! I'll see if I can get my hands on one.
"That cable is now black.. and now there's two of them." LOL awesome
😃😂🙏
Good overview. But I'm worried about all these systems with built in batteries. I just picked up the Sennheiser XSW-D, the Rode Go was launched at NAB and now this one.
I'm guessing the battery will slowly degrade, you'll lose recording time and they'll expect you to buy a new unit.
Very good point! Mics are supposed to be long-term investments
I suppose that would depend on the usage. Batteries definitely degrade. But if you think of how long a phone lasts with daily charging. And then assume you only need to charge the wireless 1-2/week for a busy schedule. It should last a really long time.
@East Bay Film Alliance The point is, I NEVER used disposable cameras, since I couldn't reuse them easily.
I was sold until you mentioned the latency: 19ms. That's a dealbreaker for live use and the reason it's half the price of the G4.
Great info
Usually your videos have a good richer sound, this one sounds blah, not sure if its the mic, or the preamps, post. The Tentacle you reviewed sounds even better and your regular shotgun setup better still.
Hi Gerald,
I trust your opinion, so I wanted to ask:
How do you feel about the available systems now?
I need two wireless mics.
Am looking at all the available options (Rode Go, Rode link, Senhieser XSW D....)
I am going to livestream corporate events in my small rental hall and need to lav presenters who will be no more than 30 feet away, but who will obviously be intermittently blocking the receiver with their bodies as they present and point to their slideshows.
A quick WiFi search just revealed 20 WiFi connections in my building...
I hear what you are saying (which is handy on a mike review I guess), oh Great Purple One...
😂😜👍
You must be old. I don't understand why today's youth write mic and expect people to read mike.
Great video!
Was the audio of the new video recorded direct into a camera or to a audio recorder?
Through my interface into my computer. I record a second copy into the camera and it's pretty much the same, maybe a few dB noisier.
I'm 3 years into them now and I have started hearing audio dropouts, and a lot of them. Not sure why. These have been sitting in our studio since we got them and only used about once a week.
Have you tried to send the kit to Deity to replace the built in battery?
Gerald, that was an excellent review! Have you messed with the Comica CVM-WM300A 96-Channel system? I'm just curious what a trained ear thinks of it. I've only heard the audio from another channels review of it and it sounded pretty good going through crappy PC speakers. The Deity is definitely more polished and with the basically military grade freq-hop that's pretty amazing, but the Comica rings in almost 200 less and I'm wondering if it's really worth the savings?
I haven't had a chance yet, no. But I'll look into it.
Thanks for the kind words, Stephen. Much appreciated! 😃
Hello Gerald, My name is Virk. First I want to say you are the best and I love watching your videos I watch all of your videos , you make things easy to understand with real examples. I am new to Photography and I am confuse with one major thing ie Aperture for landscape photography. So my question is that if I am buying a 20 mm F1 .8 G or any G Master Or similar for landscape photography or Zeiss 16-35mm f4, how Or does it affects the picture quality while using same focal length ie 20mm. Because if I am using a higher f number, like 11 or f16, isn’t it, it doesn’t matter which lens I’m using because I’m using high f number and this will result in same amount of light falling on camera sensor . So f1.8 OR f4 at f8, 11,16,etc will have same result for landscape. This is my question. Many thanks hope to hear from you or if you can do a video please.
I never grasped how momentous could be the placing of a lav mic [00:27]. Somehow, I'll never see it the same again.
Haha. Thanks! 😜🙏
I watched another Canadian talking about short cuts the other day. Toronto to Mexico in five seconds.
Perfect. The only down side is tge size of the receiver. Huge for use with mirrorless.
What is the weight of the receiver?
Did you use the sony's dual wireless system? Can you say what you think about it compared to this one? They both on the same price rang.
The system looks like a great value. I've always been on the fence for using wireless--mainly because of the issue of interference, and secondarily because the systems look more complicated to use than I would prefer. Still thinking. Just how easy it is to set up?
Finally, thanks for your courageous outside testing. I was really frightened when that car showed up, but was relieved to see it was a car, and not the polar bear I feared it might be. When was this shot? Last July?
You got jokes, William? 😜😂👍
The basic setup is really quite easy and the interface is very intuitive. And if you want to get more advanced with the settings you can, but it's not required to form a basic connection.
If you want to upgrade your wireless a lot, get DPA 6060, 4060 or 4061...
@@makosports Yes, that will do too!
White Rock they should demo with industry standard mics
It's hard to be sold on the system when it sounds ordinary. Just sounds like another semi pro wireless rig
I hope these guys offer a wireless iem solution even cooler still if it could do wireless instrument/lav and iem off the same body pack and maybe offer the option for 5ghz spectrum in addition to the 2.4
I have a pair of G4s and I swear they get such bad RF interference sometimes. I don't know why it's so bad either. I scan new frequencies before and i still end up having clicks and crackles during recordings. Do you think i'll have a better experience with these? Great review btw!
For shorter distancies, there's the budget XSW-D from Sennheiser now too...
Hi Gerald, do you still recommend these 4 years later? Looking for something for ceremonies.
The Australian Broadcasting Corporation has a TV program, The Drum. In tonight's program, the panel sat in an arc in the street. Usually, the panellists use lav mikes. Tonight, the host wore a lav mike, the rest had a little pink blob touching, or near their cheek and a band passing under the ear and vanishing around the head.
I heard no ambient noise.
The Drum is on ABC iView, it might also be on RUclips.
See whether you can see it (it may be geoblocked) and see whether you can figure out what's going on.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll see if I can find it. Cheers!
Those are just headset lavaliers. Probably Countryman, DPA, or Shure.
What's your opinion on the new Rode wireless go?
I think it's a neat little device, but kind of peculiar as well. You'd still need to buy a separate lav mic if you want to run it inconspicuously. Because clipping that pager to your shirt will look pretty weird. Not a bad option for a run'n'gun setup though.
So which wirless sound system do you recommend today?
Woah, great video, but almost $700. About 3 times my budget.
Question: What would you have to do to have 4 wireless lavs - going into one camera audio input ? Did I understand correctly when you mentioned if you had 2 of these kits...you can link them together and utilize 4 separate laves in one audio input ? And if so....with this configuration would you still be able to monitor all 4 channels with headphones ?
BAM!!! in the house
Hey hey! 😃
What I actually want is them to sell a combo unit with 2 XLR units as I've got some amazing XLR lavs or so I can mix an XLR lav and a shotgun.
if you ever do a bit like this again, I hope you'll put a green screen image on your tablet to make for a smoother transition in editing next time....
I'm interested in buying these as I need a wireless kit pretty quick, its either this, the Sennheiser AVX MKE2 or the Rode Wireless Go. Having researched quite a bit I understand these suffer quite badly with self noise, even after the latest firmware update, what are your opinions on this and which of the above three would you choose for interviews and outdoor documentary type work, forgetting the costs?
“Gain Staging” gave me a woodie.
Ha. Love it! 👍😃
okay im sold on the analog limiter and pelican style case. Now I need 650 bucks :p
Btw can you also do a video on lav mics for those who wants better sounding lav?
Thanks for the suggestion! I'll add it to the list. 😃👍
Have you ask Deity how many Charge Cycles does the batery last?
Rode Wireless Go, Sennheiser XSW-D, Sennheiser AVX. What it comes down to, for me, is the reliability of the wireless connection and the latency. If I lose audio on something that can't be re-recorded, then I'm fucked. AVX is stellar in this department. XSW-D is unreliable more than 10-20 meters away if blocked by a human body etc. Haven't tested Rode Wireless Go.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Appreciated.
@@geraldundone And thank you for the some of the best camera related content on RUclips. Top quality. Every. Single. Time. Well done.
In your latest portions of the video, it sounds like first you used your lack micro but then (just like your older portions) you are using the shotgun mic. Am I right? Just better quality I guess.
its discontinued? what will be my alternative?
Have you tried it with the wireless option for a boom mic?
Great review, thanks! I just got one and now I have a problem... Have you been able to update the firmware to 2.0? The DUO-RX updated flawlessly, but both of my BP-TX's will not update. I even tried 4 different USB sticks formatted in FAT32 and ExFAT.
