As a lifetime fan of Mariah’s, it saddens me to see this version of her. First, is the wackiness that she displays between songs. She jabbers as if she’s expressing the assumed thoughts of those watching her. It makes her appear foolish and weak. Secondly, and this is really no fault of her own, but it’s just heartbreaking to hear how much her voice has deteriorated over the years. It wouldn’t be so bad if I had never heard vintage Mariah. She was just so incredibly good back in the day and now she’s just a shadow of her former self. Happens to lots of singers but has affected Mariah more than most in my opinion. She’s still a musical genius. Has superb writing talent and great depth of understanding about music itself.
After the butterfly era that was beginning of Mariah focusing more on her look versus her vocals! It just is what it is! I will say this tho the emancipation of Mimi was her last greatest vocal era, and it’s probably because of pressure to comeback after glitter flopped!
So no one talks about how much she actually improved from 2017? This does not justify this performance, which wasn't her best, but if you look at the technicalities, she really just needs to work on her breathing, and also not be that nervous. As a vocal condition she is on the right track.

She was just nervous, her voice is in greater condition than it was years prior. Yall are too dramatic
