I actually bought wf 3820. My question is can I leave the printer on or should I turn it off if I'm not using it. (what do you prefer) Does it go into sleep mode where I wont have the need to power it up? Thanks
I have the WF4740. Its a good printer. Epson is good at updating it. I've had no jams. I have owned the printer for 8 months. My only issue is the ink is crazy-expensive. A box of Epson BYCM cost over 100 bucks. The printer cost 160.00. I'm almost buying a new printer with each time I purchase a BYCM ink pack. . .
That's not the worst. The worst is that Epson has removed the ability to print in "draft" or "fast" mode, which saves ink. Was in all older models, now removed. I F*cking HATE these greedy BS companies!

It looks like this printer doesn’t have a user accessible maintenance box. When that box gets full, you will have a heck of a time servicing it. If you decide to use 3rd party ink, good luck as this printer will be cleaning the print head and filling those ink pads.
I purchased this printer 2 weeks ago and I was going to change yellow cartridge and it does not work, it says maintenance error. The one I had was 702 the new one is 702i that’s what they gave me at the store. When I put 702i blue cartridge it works. I tried everything possible and still it is not working 🤦♂️
I would just get the regular 702 cartridge sounds like a 3rd party cartridge or re-manned it's 50/50 that these cartridges will work cause somehow the printer sensors can tell.
It's best to get heavy bond paper like 24 lb this paper will not jam but 20 lb or lower will jam allot cause the paper is flimsy almost like tissue paper use 24 lb type never have a jam issue. And maybe get paper with 96 grade whiteness instead of 92 printing looks clearer.
I've been using this model for about a year and overall it is fine. HOWEVER I would NOT recommend it to anyone who needs to regularly print envelopes. Is has two feeder trays, so you can load one with paper and the other with envelopes. What you will soon discover is that it is a right royal pain in the neck when it comes to printing envelopes. If you completely fill the tray with envelopes, it will fail to print envelopes at all, and claim the tray is empty. With experience you learn that it will usually print envelopes ok if the tray is between 1/4 and 2/3 full. Which is all very well, except once it gets to the 1/4 full stage, it then will drag the whole lot of remaining envelopes through in a lump, and promptly jam itself with them, and you have to go through the tiresome process of removing the jam, and restarting the printer. Once aware of these quirks, you try to keep part of your mind alert to the supply level in the envelope tray, but inevitably you forget to check and and it jams itself. Making printers is their goddamn job, not being able to produce a reliable paper / envelope feed is a major FAIL.

Chromebook uses a different operating system I do believe no set up is required it uses an app to print so if it's wireless the app will find it and automatically download the drivers necessary to print from that printer but drivers only you don't have to use the whole software Chromebooks has it's own software to print mostly using the cloud. Works like printing from your phone basically.

Go into your computer settings. Or download the epson app on your pc or other device that is how you can change the settings.

Are you buying high yield or XL cartridges you know you can get the low yield which are cheaper but they don't last as long.
