that 2 stroke V8 sounds like a Rotary on steroids
+billy heaton A Wankel engine (if that is what you are referring to) IS a two stroke engine, so it is no surprice that it sounds similiar.
Lucas Bakker just like a mazda right ?
+billy heaton Some Mazda's were equipped with Wankel engines indeed.
The Mazda Cosmo Sport, RX4/RX7/RX8 had the Wankel engine. But there were other manufactures such as NSU which also had the Wankel engine.
Lucas Bakker Thanks for the info going to do some research on that
+Lucas Bakker More like a 1/3rd stroke! 3 bangs for every turn turn of the output shaft.
2 Stroke V24 with 12 chargers, for when you need to haul your neighborhood at 120 MPH
Absolute spaceship
More like 400 mph
Only land vehicle that needs a periscope to drive around in
Just the fact that it runs is amazing!!
That truck at the end is some Mad Max tier shit...
It’s. Called THOR24
I'd like to see the V24 with 12 superchargers driving.
I know it’s supposed to be a joke but that’s not how superchargers work
The cumstang has me laughing cuz of the name xD
pretty good one tire burnout at 5:05
xd
lmfao
1:12 when your car is so turbocharged, that your headlight doesn't fit :D :D
The Cumstang was a nice thought but a 16 second reaction time to get it spooled up is really just kinda silly at the end of the day.
5:05 wheel spinning... lol
would that last engine fit in my honda?
Will it fit on my honda?
+Steezay IsEz Both you guys watch to much MCM :P
+hectorae86 just curious cause I think it would be nice on my honda
Steezay IsEz
lol :P
even if it did the torque would probably either crush the car, or just rip it in two lol.
After having driven the Cizetta V16t in Gran Turismo, I can understand completely why the car never became popular. It is such a horribly tail happy car that it make the pig of the Veyron look like a nice handling car! ;)
Sweet set of engines! Some I have heard of, others I haven't. Look up the video where they dyno that last engine! It's MASSIVE!
If America would be a Vehicle, @5:20 is it.
blowin smoke an good for nothing lmao
that last one 😱
If Asia were a vehicle 5:20
Slowest reaction time in history at 1:40. :)
5:20 Somebody has alot of time and money...
Wow, that three turbo drag car took longer to spool up than a race would take to start, finish and cool down. Insane power though.
most of these are just giant smoke machines lol
I remember cizeta from old gran turismo!
+revvitup It's still in GT6, even has an interior now
0:50 That's not unusual engine, Ford did have a V10 in their F Series pick ups, can't remember what year
They had them and they were the gasoline option, not diesel.
+Justin Walters I never did say anything about diesel
+jaysfan19 oh no, sorry. You didn't but I'm like 100% sure the video did. Maybe I'm seeing things.
+Justin Walters No worries mate, the video did say, then the uploader made the correction, sort of highlighting it, gasoline V10
+Dick Pepperfield And your comment ties into this video how?
2:14 I started coughing from looking at the exhaust.
That V16 Detroit diesel sounds so so evil!! Especially when he rev's it at 4:10.
it does
The Rudezon with the Evinrude two storke sounds awesome. You have to love those expansion chambers. Nice build with the Volvo body too.
Something you miss on a video; the smell. 2 strokes engines have such beautiful smell from the mixture of oil and gasoline.
Engines be "Hear me roar!!!"
Mustang driver's reaction time wasn't too great
Diesels have to spool the turbos. That's how they act. He was building to maximum boost pressure, there's nothing to do with reactions.
Michael Tarantino They don't take that damn long
+CubNole The turbos do take a while to spool up, this car has a diesel engine which already have massive turbos. And with 3 even bigger turbos for the added power, it will take a little bit to get the turbos to spool up properly.
+CubNole They take that long because unless the engines under load you wont see full boost. Diesels are nothing like gas engines.
Anthony Marcattilio MechRider89 Nothing like gas engines, eh?
Thanks for the basics, I understand. I work on cranes. They're all turbo diesels. Cummins mostly, Detroit, Mercedes, a few Caterpillars. Crawlers, Rough Terrain, All Terrain, Boom Trucks, etc. They lift thousands of pounds without taking nearly a minute to build their measly 25+ psi. The technology is already here to eliminate a lot of turbo lag. I know what you gentleman are saying, and what I'm saying is: if your race car has such a GIANT BADASS turbo that takes about 50 seconds of throttle to spool up, you have already lost the race. Still a cool looking smoke show while he sits there at a green light.
Maybe get a smaller turbo or have a sequential-turbo set-up to build quicker boost.
Ah. That last one. I remember it well from years back. Detroit 24V-71 with 4 blowers in the engine valley factory. Then they went crazy with a custom intake and drive to add 8 more on top. For perspective, the rod that drives the top 8 blowers goes through the middle of the upper manifold and weighs 830 US pounds. That drive rod alone is the weight of a typical big block V8. The custom intake alone weighs 1,000 US pounds. 1,800 pounds for the custom intake and drive to mount the 8 blowers on top. The whole engine combo weighs in at 9,800 pounds and makes a reported 3,400+ BHP dyno confirmed. Since those old diesels typically make around 3x the torque as the HP number, I would be surprised if it broke 10,000 ft-lbs. Dyno couldn't measure it so I know it's well beyond 5,000 ft-lbs.
Oh. For the record, that V24 IS a 2 stroke engine. Just look at the Detroit 71 series of engines for an idea on how they work: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detroit_Diesel_Series_71
+Sonicdude10 Well, thank you for correction :)
+Visio's Sports Cars No problem. I do a LOT of mechanical work on older stuff so I know my engines most of the time. Where I live we have a Detroit 4-71 in a 1962 Gallion road grader. That thing is crazy sounding. Can't even hear the blower whine over the diesel popping.
The ford 7.3 is a v8 diesel, the v10 is gas
Speed King What are you talking about? I know the 7.3 V8 is diesel. It's the first Powerstroke that came out. If you are referring to the video, there is an annotation fixing the mistake. BTW, why are you replying to me? I was talking about the Detroit Diesel engine, not Ford engines...
2:05 but will it fit in my honda?
+dragonslayer1483 no but maybe your honda fits in your ass...........
pzkw108 get your panties out of a bunch dude.
lol that's a good one.....
mcm for the win
+dragonslayer1483 Yes. And it will definitely go choo choo.
That last one was simply beyond imagination
Got some good selections here! I wonder if the 42 L V12 was originally an aircraft engine. Also, the last engine is insane!
Yep i think its a bomber engine
Brutus is missing! Powered by a 47-liter BMW V-12 engine....
+Huey-Fan rod hatfields street legal mustang (ww2 aircraft) powered 55 chev is also missing
+Huey-Fan I want to see someone fit a griffon engine into a car.
+bjorn1583 You're referring to the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine, it more famously powered the Spitfire (and somewhat less famously the Mosquito).
Robin Glijn He was talking about the junker jumo not the rolls royce.
4 Tonnes of Fury I replied to Bjorn, Rod Hatfield's Chevy has a Merlin.
Brutus is the "car" with the Junkers Jumo from a He 111 medium bomber.
they didnt rev that v24 with 12s because it would run out of fuel.
damn, that v24 is some Mad Max style stuff right there! :)
That V16 rod sounds superb when revved
this is some mad max shit right here
5:20
Optimus Prime!!!
2:28 I wouldn't wanna be breathing THAT in
0:54 DAMN someone most of spent a lot of money on there Sandking XL at LS Customs
Hey people. If you know an engine or engines that are not so known between other people, share your knowledge with me. It looks you really like this video series and I am thinking of 4th part. It can be production or very interesting custom made engine, not necessarily car motor. Thank you!
do the rare dodge diesel Perkins...everyone thinks that the only diesel in a dodge truck was a cummings. ..by true! videos on RUclips
clay tullos I will look on that!
+VisioRacer clay if you're talking about the 70s dodges those were Mitsubishi diesel
+VisioRacer there is no such thing as a 7.3l diesel v10
VK70001.P If you read older comments, you would see my point towards that fictional engine I created, let's say that this way.
i think that number 3 is a 2jz-gtttte
lmao
thank you very much for these videos!
4:05 That car looks epic.
before you ring out the Ford V10, take a look at the Dodge V10. the Ford's V10 is only 6.8L, but the latest Dodge V10 is 8.4L!
YEASSHHH
SWATROLLK9 so you really should ring out the Ram SRT-10 before the Ford V10 truck
who's going to take advice from a guy who watchs my little pony?
TheIconicBmx a lot of people
+mylittleponydude mehhh
oh ya,2jz. never heard of it before.
+master power It was meant about this particular quad-turbo 2JZ
+master power yea that one in the vodeo would technically be a 2JZ-GTTTTE
@@Grempf159 lmao
completely forgetting one of my favorite mad engines... the Chrysler A57 Multibank... 5 inline 6 blocks together (that's 30 total cylinders with a 20.5L displacement) in a radial configuration with a central crank... full on mad genius stuff at work designing an engine to throw into the Sherman tank
The twin NSU engines near the end are built by a friend of mine Chris Ireland who owned Desperate Dan's customs and has a great love of old Indian motorcycle of which he races at bonneville salt flats every year.
Explain how you make a two stroke V8.
Probably the same way as you do any other two-stroke, just this one is a little more complicated as it is a V8
VisioRacer thank you.
VisioRacer love your video.
Thanks
overpowered lawnmower
2 stroke v8? I bet you have to rebuild it more often than you change socks
+Imbra Šlauf Better than that Detroit Diesel at 4:10 Don't those guys know all Detroit's do is just leak oil? they'll have to pull over every couple miles to add a quart of oil!
Probably like a 250, pop them new rings in there every 40 hours. Hurr hurr.
"2.5 tons and the engine weighs half of it" do I need to write any more about that?
Wow another great video, some very cool cars and trucks
Okay, I'm not into car engines enough to understand this... Isn't 180 degree V12 essentially a boxer? (Flat 12?)
+FokkerBoombass It is but Ferrari is excentric.
+FokkerBoombass Yeah I donno why he "corrected" that. Its a flat engine, just like subaru's and porsche's
+FokkerBoombass They are pretty similar regarding the cylinder layout, but in a boxer engine two opposing cylinders move towards and away from each other, so you could say they "meet" at the crank. In a 180° V engine (which I think is a stupid name because it isn´t a V) two opposing cylinders don´t move towards and away from each other. If one goes to the crank, the other one is moving away from it, so they never "meet" at the crank like in a boxer engine
wambomeister Let's just call it a _12!
When a V engine's degree is 180, we call it Boxer. Or flat. Or opposed.
@ 5:05"
So it's a front wheel drive? (when you see it... :D )
Cool video. I'd seen most of the engines before, but I had no idea that the 2 stroke V8 was intended for an Amazon. If you want to round of the list to an even 12 numbers you could add the "Devel Sixteen V16 5000HP Engine Dyno" clip.
last one's like
"fuck visibility, I want stupid power"
180 degrees means no longer in a V configuration, Sorry
That 18 wheeler @ 5:26 what a joke!!!
+Manuel Mejia most of the superchargers werent even connected, the throttle bodies stayed closed on the last set.
I know I saw a lot of superchargers not even mounted to a intake!!!
Those motors (detroit diesel) need the supercharges for scavenging purposes, they don't have throttle bodies. It's an injection pump to a cylinder that only has intake valves. The superchargers are there to force air in the cylinders and out the exhaust. It's the same for the 16v92 in the video also it just only has it's dual superchargers.
+Venomous villain Yes Sir! Thats how superchargers got the nickname "blower".
+michael smith As in 671 blower, off a 671 detroit diesel.
What about PPRE from NZ's 6 rotor?
The last engine is a beast, that truck must be awesome to drive!
im a noob i know, but can someone explayn how the fuck a v5 works? arent they supposed to stand in a v shape? i thought you only could have v2, v4, v6, v8, v10, v12, v14 (never heard of that though),v16 and apparently a v24, also heard of 48 cylinder motorcycle, not too sure if v or inline.... please explain to my dumb brain so it will understand...
+Vincent Borsum Jason Fenske has nice explanation of principle of Volkswagen's V5 (basically VR5) which is based on VR6: ruclips.net/video/Y0LKWt3Ttic/видео.html
VisioRacer thank you!
+Vincent Borsum some and or most mini coopers nowadays come with a v3
+Vincent Borsum That threw me too since Volkswagen often use the V5 tag on engines with 5 valves per cylinder.
a flat 5 maybe?
how do you even drive the last one, can't see shit in front of you
Camera's or maybe even a radar system.
I doubt they drive it. it's just to show off...
... how stupid they are.
HazewinDog Engineering is never stupid. If it looks stupid, but it works. It ain't stupid. Also, it probably originates from america, the land wherein helicopters can be turned into a "car" and become road legal. Besides, there are enough festivals where you drive these monsters and get likes.
jrpower5 I find it stupid. I've been looking up a lot of super cool engines tonight, but that one engine is just plain stupid imho.
He doesn't drive it. It's mainly for show. It's a Detroit 24-71 diesel. The typical 6-71 blower actually originated from these engines way back in the late 40s all the way up until the late 80s simply because diesels for the most part cannot draw in enough atmosphere to create power. So someone came up with the idea of the 6-71 super charger. These engines usually only came with one, but he wanted 12.
That Truck is off the chain. There has been a few articles written that cover the build over the last few years.
the 7.3 is a powerstroke v8 (diesel)
the 6.8 is a triton v10 (gasser) same manufacturer 2 different engines
ummmm, 7.3 litre diesel V10? Definitely not a thing.
no wonder the earth is dying because of these smoking machines
i only meant those engines which smoke the most
the ones that smoke are less harmful anyways, they have incomplete combustion, producing less chemicals in quantity
That Detroit V16 sounds so unique. I love it.
man 2 stroke engines gives so much power especially V8s, but that old man is sitting on a monster
Heyyyy.
One question what's the difference between 180° deg V-12 and a boxer 12 ? at ca 3:18min
1:36 boost loading. please wait...
I drive an F550 stake body with the 6.8 V10, one badass engine. No matter how much weight I have in the back, it never struggles. It's an '06 with only 23k miles.
The 7.3 powerstroke also known as the International T444E wasn't a little known engines. They sold 10s of millions of them! And it was a v8
Bruh I can watch these vids everyday for the rest of my life tho
4:20 sounds soooo goddamn close to Audi Quattro rally car :)
Lol the last one was like a mad max Big Rig. :D
I'm 50 years old and for 30 years i've always wanted to try out expansion chambers on a rotary engine. Being that it is a lot like a two stroke. Just 2 of them on a 2 rotor and see if it works or not, You never know until you try it. Or even one on a single rotor go-kart motor, that would be fast and easy.
5:00 Inline 8 s-ch is so cool, that it doing burnout without transmission!
2 stroke V8 and V24 my wet dreams have come true!
I love the air starter on the Detroit at 3:50
Some U.S. Air Force aircraft used to use a 71.5ish litre radial with 28 cylinders (you'd never get that in a car though!)
That 7.3 litre V10 diesel sounds SO GOOD!
That Car Guy not a V10.
What is the gas mileage in that v24 2t? I want it for a daily use, you know shopping and stuff.
4:10 - when is it going on a production line ?
Are there any pictures in circulation of that v10 powerstroke?
I bet that first 2 stroke is wild to drive.
How about the v1. I'm running two of them in my jet drag lawn mower
The last one is a jaw dropper!
The 2-stroke V8's starter sounds very similar to most starters in V12s. Even starters with reduction gears on V8 engines don't sound similar to the V12 starters. I wonder what starter this car used...
Also, the V16 is two inline 8s in a V-shape, not two V8s.
I don't know if you already covered or someone as already mentioned.but there ir arround the tube a record of a Tiger thank engine running on open pipes.
My question is how to drive that last one or is that just show/concept truck
The last 1.. overkill is an understatement
Dayyum! 5:20 Optimus Prime been working out!
the 12 supercharged truck is like a christmas tree
5:35how would you see the way ahead of that truck when the front view is obstructed by the bug catchers?
0:48 i think you might have messed up f-350 and 250's that year came with a 7.3l v8 diesel or a triton v10 (gas) not a 7.3 v10
+Lethal Snipes just watched the video in the description for that clip it is a v10 pulling 7.3 truck
That last one just belongs in the new mad max movie😄😄
Its so crazy ,its awesome!!
İs the v24 with 12 chargers is on idle? or reving it?
the first car actually have the same sound as a car from at aging game called - Stunt car racer - from my Amiga500 in the 90´s :)
that last truck belongs in mad max
if you haven't you should look up the Bandag Bullet, 2 v8 diesels bot are twin turbo, supercharged nitrous burning monsters on 1 truck
2:27 seen that when it was revving up at Brooklands Circuit, fucking loud. My eardrums hurt for a while after that.
hey if there is any engine nerds out there like me please help me out okay, if you wanted to build a hypercar if u had to choose between a big block v12 or a big block v16 witch would u choose I can't choose I actually want the 12 liter big block v16 tho pls respond its going to have a wide rear end respond
that homade wagon would make the perfect sleeper
1:46 that turbo spool-up
