I dont quite understand if electron repulsion between electron pairs in a 2p orbital makes removal easier,why does the same not hold true for paired orbitals in the 2s orbital?

The attraction to the nucleus (since they're much closer to the nucleus than 2p orbitals) overcomes the repulsion between the electron pairs.
