11:49 when working out standard enthalpy of combustion, why do we have to against the arrows and not the other direction, with the arrows? (why couldn't it be -86-2734 = -2820 rather than 86+2734 as you do in the video). Is either way correct? Also thank you so much, this video is really helpful!

I am confused about adding up part for the second solution as when I am adding up the numbers I am not getting zero the check if my calculation are right or not. Yes hess cycle always includes elements in formation. The definition of enthalpy of formation states this specifically. You don't have to use the cycle and can opt for the equation as you mention.

sir it doesn't work the other way. when you go against the arrow, then you need to inverse the signs. So, +2734+86=2820, not -2820. I hope you reply to clarify this please
