  • This short movie is meant as a meditation piece. The images were taken during walks around the fields and woods of Gethsemani. The first stage of contemplation is called theoria, which means seeing God in creation and in our lives. The smallest thing, a beetle, an ant, a flower, can be a window into God's greatness and love for created things, including human beings. As William Blake put it, "To see a world in a grain of sand / and heaven in a wild flower / hold infinity in the palm of your hand / and eternity in an hour." A little grand for bugs and weeds, but hey, a world in a bug and heaven in a weed? If you look hard enough.
    The music is homemade.

That was absolutely beautiful!! It’s so true, and only possible if you see through the eyes and Mary; there’s so much already given and so perfect, why do we fuss and build’ so much? Thank you for a beautiful excuse for deeper thankfulness.

How many times have I walked past these miraculous scenes on my way to the seemingly more important statues? Thank you for this reminder.
