Regulation of gene expression - This lecture explains about the gene expression and regulation in prokaryotes and eukaryotes. Regulation of gene expression concerns the ability of a cell or organism to control the level of specific proteins within it. Gene expression is the process by which information from a gene is used in the synthesis of a functional gene product. In bacteria, regulation of gene expression includes transcription, translation, and post-translational modification. Gene expression is the process by which genetic information from a gene is used to produce a functional protein. This video explains the regulation of gene expression, including transcription factors, promoters, and terminators. It also discusses the role of chromatin in gene regulation and epigenetics. Gene expression is the process by which genes are activated to produce proteins. This video explains the role of regulatory proteins in controlling gene expression, and how mutations in these proteins can lead to diseases such as cancer. Gene regulation is the way that cells control the level of activity of particular genes. In eukaryotes, this is often mediated by the action of proteins called transcription factors, which bind to promoters, regulatory sequences upstream of genes, to activate or repress transcription.
