Hats off to you, man. I wouldn't have the balls to tackle such a project. Three years ago I bought a running '66 122(s) and recently replaced all the rubber seals, had it reupholstered and painted and just love the little jewel. I wasn't prepared for all of the attention she gets, sometimes it can be a bit embarrassing for this shy old dude. I live in Mexico and was recently out on a Sunday drive in a small town nearby in southern Baja when I stopped to let some pedestrians use a cross walk. To my surprise, five people posed in front of it it to have their pictures taken while a few cars had to wait behind me. As a fellow car enthusiast, I appreciate you rescuing this car as "they aren't making any more of them." Congratulations on your success.

    Love this!
My first car, in '76, was a '61; i was 13 and 10 bucks bought the car with the engine in pieces in the trunk. It taught me all about engines and cars and i still miss it.
I recall it being built like a tank. Overbuilt everywhere you looked at it.

Love those classic Volvos! My first car was a 1959 PV544 which I bought in 1965. Mine started life as a 3 speed which I promptly swapped to a 4 speed and B18 engine.

Good going on saving that old gem. I never heard of toilet bowl cleaner in the gas tank but some flush I used in my dads heater core had lye in it too. The brake drum part I just smack them all the way around to get the rust lose. I've seen oil swell the lining due to a bad axle seal. Good video !

In the 80's my first Volvo was a 66 122S wagon, then a 142, 144 and 145. Before then i had a Triumph TR3, also with SU carburetors. Simple to work on.

@@FunWithCars716 I did subscribe, thanks. I don't think we have photos, at least any I have seen in years. I gave an engine and parts for a B20 engine to an enthusiast about 10 years ago. He had a 544. That was the last of the Volvo era for me, but I enjoy viewing videos to bring back memories.

    Here's a greeting from Denmark
nice car, I myself have a 1963 model try looking at VP AUTOPARTS they have almost everything in spare parts for volvo pv.
They also manufacture new upholstery for the seats for the various models and you can order based on the upholstery code from the nameplate on your car.
And I guarantee you that it is 100% like the original, you can't tell the difference at all, and the price is not high.

Always loved these cars, I’ve had 2 1959 544’ s one was a very nice old folks car and the other a rat rod painted bright purple (not by me!) I traded the nicer one for a mint condition 1958 Cadillac superior bodied hearse 👍😁🎩

You need to do something about the volume on your video.
    Maybe a better mic ?
Congrats on getting the car running and driving.
When I was a kid in the 50's-60's in Southern Calif. I actually saw two of these modified to look like 1940 Fords.
I think they have great lines for a car not made in the USA.
Whatever you do with it I suspect you will enjoy the car.

First thing to do with historic Volvo's: Scrap the SU carbs, use Mikuni or others. SU means never ending troubles and high gas consumption without power.
