  • I received a request from my brother to fix this flashlight. All I have to do is replace the LED. I use AliExpress to find parts for this flashlight. after all, it was easy to fix, but be careful, it's a catch!
    I ordered the LED with the whole PCB because it can be replaced faster. Protmas can also change the LED itself by desoldering from the original PCB, however I trust the factory SMD soldering.
    !!!--- Safety first, don't shine this LED in your eyes as it can cause blindness! Be very careful ---!!!

    I've been making battery packs & fixing things a long time & recent I made a pvc pipe sleeve for 2 - 18650 cells since 26650 are hard to get. After cycling the 18650 I tried them in an Amazon flashlight that use 26650. The light was off but as soon as I touched the butt cap to the 2 - 18650 it turned on & I smelled something burning after a few seconds. The original heat shrunk double 26650 cells still light the flashlight but the button no longer cycles the modes. My voltages on the 18650 are 3.58v each & they are Sanyo cells purchased from Liion Wholesale. Everything looks right for specs. I seen others use the adapter sleeves that came with the same flashlight but only 3 modes instead of 5 & it worked. This isn't rocket science so what do you think could've happened? The flashlight worked fine with the original battery stack & will still light dim with the original pack but the 2 - 18650 just turn it on & in this video you can see the resistors or diodes on the board are burnt in the pictures at the end of this video ruclips.net/video/p3ovrhBcL4Q/видео.html . I never came across this. Any ideas?

      Hey mate! I saw your videos! Great, you figured this out by yourself! that would be my first guess, that voltages on the batteries isn't adding up somehow! Usually the LED driver should be capable to manage over voltage, at least turning off the circuit, but this cheap design just burn up, ha ha ha...
      Did the manual says what is the configuration of the batteries inside?
      I would be going the same road you did, because this kind of configuration for batteries is very confusing!
      Good luck in future exploring! 💪

      @@dl.electric When things bug me I keep at it lol No manual came with the light. The seller said it could use 2 - 26650's (I'm not sure if I included that in my videos, I think I did). I should not have assumed he was telling the truth (Or maybe he was unaware)? Amazon actually hung up on me after scolding me to only use the same company brand batteries. The seller offered to send a replacement along with a few used ones & Amazon offered a replacement but I refused as they are useless to me with this circuit. The SMD transistors just could not hold the 7.4v & I have no idea why they would wire the pack in "Paraellel" when other sellers have the same chip & there are videos on YT showing two single 26650's used in the same light. At least Amazon filed a safety claim when I called back. They don't like me too much but that's mind over matter. I don't mind & they don't matter but what does matter to me is putting honest info out there for others to make informed decisions on buying no matter the cost & for safety reasons as well. Merry Christmas!

      @@TheCleaner6969 Hello! Good work and the effort! Thank you!
      I think that Amazon sellers do not know the specification of these products, so that's why, there is no straight answer folloving by hang up. I faced a similar problem when I ordered micro SD memory cards from China (Ebay, Aliexpress), (they were with a fake memory size). Dropshipping or smoothing like that works mostly there - basically the seller has no clue about the item it sells! Many people buy a product, do not test it and give good feedback, it promotes more sales!
      Today's big selling giants are playing a very dirty game!!!
      There is an example on my channel about E-cigarettes, where the manufacturers are absolutely not interested in the pollution they create!
      At the end of the day, it is solely our own responsibility how to deal with all that!
      Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

      @@dl.electric It's really sad! I recently bought a camera off ebay from a Top Rated seller they were & are the worst seller I've dealt with. I made one video discussing what was wrong & I was willing to fix it but they refuse & demanded I send it back. I did. Then I was accused of making more scratches & they only refunded half my money & I had to go through ebay protection to get the other half. I left negative feedback & the seller requested it be taken down & I should know by Monday what ebay decides. Others need to know this & ebay hides it. I'll have to check your video out. These kind of things are really up to us to help get the truth out there! Thank you! And A Very Merry Christmas & Happy New to you!

    How about changing battery

    • @dl.electric
      @dl.electric  2 года назад

      It is relatively simpler. You just need to unscrew the bottom part of the case and take the batteries out. They are not soldered or embedded in the body!

    • @dl.electric

      @@nejdet5155 There are two most likely cases, 1st: Each LED must have a specially designed driver IC, taking into account the power consumed by each LED and so, that it can develop enough brightness!
      2nd: A LED bright enough can be replaced with a brighter one, such as a p70 or p90, but it can only develop the same brightness as the previous LED that the flashlight had (if not changing the driver IC). Of course, it may happen that it works properly and everything is fine, I haven't experimented with this kind of LED replacement, unfortunately!
      But you can tell me if you succeeded!

      @dl.electric do I need to use a 6v on a single 26650 light or do I need to use a 3-4v? It's a sofirn sp33v3 and the same thing happened, the led broke off

    • @dl.electric
      @dl.electric  Год назад +1

      @@aj2no17 Hello!
      I personally do not have such a flashlight at home, but according to the information available on the Internet, it looks like you should still use a 3V led, meaning (3-4V) version. Here also clearly says 3V LED - www.amazon.com/Rechargeable-Flashlight-Powerful-XHP50-2-Inserted/dp/B07ZQ4WKR7
      This isn't official datasheet, but still helps a lot!
      In addition, your flashlight uses one battery, at 3.7 volts max charged, this also indicates that a 3-4V LED should be used.
      Good luck!
