Tutorial of how to prime PCA meds through the alaris pump per policy. Additional instructions are in the back of the CIRS sheet. Also apologies for the bad filming on this video
Has anyone out there setup the PCA 8120 as an epidural pump? The operator manual tells it can be done. but I cannot find any instruction or information on how to do this? I think ince the configuration is put on hte PC unit should work I am thinking.. Can you show how to do this operation?
Is there anyway to check with the Alaris IV pumps how much time I have left until my infusion runs out? I'm used to other IV systems that gave you and infusion end time. Thanks.
This is for people who might be watching this video now. Yes, there’s a soft key labeled ‘volume duration’ on the screen of the main channel. You can press that and see how long you have until your fluids run dry. Or you can estimate by looking at the VTBI (volume to be infused) and comparing that with your fluid rate. For example, my VTBI is 900 ml, and my rate is 100. So I’ve got nine hours until I need to change the bag.
Sorry I'm gonna need you specify what you thought was not safe. I researched the video and I covered how to set the pump correctly to reflect a PCA dose only and how to prime the pump accurately without wasting medication while giving you specifically what priming volume is. Thanks
