I beat him second try he is one of the few bosses where not locking on is the better choice. though i will admit he does look damn intimidating.
Muka Ferr If he does fire attacks just hide in the gap then just lure his fist hit attack and just keep hitting him... pretty easy
weird because I beat him over 20 times. Not hard if you dodge and use a lightning mundane shadow dagger and gyrm greatshield for the fire breath. Jack Pewitt locking on gets you killed for the fire breath because you aim upwards with your shield and it hits your legs. Hyro good except he might go under the lava and come back up to where he can hit you and use a fist laser.
Fuck other great games, lets put Uncharted and Zelda in every list.

Most of the mission is in a underground facility though lava is there but it doesn't really factor into anything. You go through a couple Geth Checkpoints and around like 2 lava lakes but that is about it. Elder Scrolls games don't have levels so that is understandable they didn't put that or else they should have put Red Mountain fighting Dagoth Ur on there.
You cant have those great games getting in top tens, because mojo signed a deal to promote Zelda (why else would you butt fuck it this hard). Why keep making games at all? Apparently some elf fucking around in an empty world full of text scrolling is the pinnacle of gaming. Not saying its bad its just not the best game around, it has aged terribly. The game play is very boring and the story is the same as every Zelda. the best part was the combat and if that makes it the best game then Dark Souls is the new best game as its combat shits on Zelda's. at this point we have to really say OOT was good for the time but time has moved on but Mojo havent. Also the best lava level is Hot Head Hop. for me atleast

Arowec yeah but the polls on these sort of lists had Fire Temple at either 1st or 2nd. Anyone who's played the game understands it deserves it. And this is the first level list that LoZ has won
i remember that lava level from lego starwars was pretty cool, cause you play thorugh it cooperatively when you have to escape lava, but when you are on sturdy ground you have to fight eachother.

Nacho I remember having trouble with jumping on the sinking platforms, oh and that tower that falls down. The end was pretty cool when you play with someone else.

lol Aladdin lava level is very iconic than any of those games you said, and the mechanics involved in that level fit perfectly into the lava theme

The best games ever are older games with the exception of a few games in this modern era so that is understandable. I think they shouldn't choose the same games for every list though like people are.
Every other list is filled with nothing but games from 2000 forward. You have to realize that those games derived their influence from somewhere.

Why are people hating on WatchMojo for all their Ocarina of Time picks? It's an awesome classic game that has a great story and brain sizzling puzzles. It's a game you can't forget after experiencing it.

It's more because it's on almost every one of these lists. The main reason it gets so high is because of nostalgia, and i hate that. Don't call me a hater, because I love Nintendo and have played Ocarina of Time. I think Wind Waker is a better Zelda game.
SteelRotom Wind Waker was the very first Zelda game I played as a toddler on the game cube, never bet it because I was too lazy to find the triforce pieces in the ocean. Ocarina of Time was my second Zelda game and in my opinion is equal with wind waker.
The only thing that ocarina of time has over wind waker is because it's older and hit more fans.

Or "The Oracle" level in Warcraft 3, where you travel to Stonetalon Mountains to meet an Oracle and you go inside the mountain into a volcano. I dunno, but I think that was better than most of the fire/lava levels on this list...
Yeah I am getting tired of this level countdowns. It always seems to be Orcarina of Time or Uncharted in the top. They are good games but other games do have much better level types then those too.

Demons Ruins Lost Izalith was a lot better than Iron Keep in my opinion, but I just kinda prefer Dark Souls to Dark Souls II tbh.
Also, Iron King isn't scary or tough, it's arguably the easiest of the four major bosses in the beginning, if not one of the easiest bosses in the game alongside Demon of Song and Covetous Demon (probably missing out another really easy boss but you get what I mean)
Demon Ruins and Lost Izalith were pretty terribly designed if I'm honest, with some pretty piss poor bosses.
I'd say that overall Ironkeep is much better. Although you're bang on about old Balrog. Smelty is certainly the harder boss here.
I thought they were good, I just kinda thought the Asylum Demon copy was a bit shoddy. Also Ceaseless Discharge kinda sucked but only because of that exploit that lets you kill him really easily. I enjoyed both these areas, and I thought Centipede Demon and Bed of Chaos we're pretty good bosses.
While there were definitely many better places in Dark Souls, all i'm saying is I think it is a lot better than Iron Keep, Iron Keep was really boring and had a really easy boss. I guess Smelter Demon was okay, but nothing spectacular.

Most people have a love-hate relationship with watchmojo's top tens, in some list they go like "oh yes it's awesome they think this __ is the best just like me" and then proceed to piss off in other top tens, but overall the channel is entertaining which is the whole point on watching videos on youtube anyway, to be entertained
The Iron King one of the toughest and scariest bosses in any game... What?? He is one of the easiest bosses in all souls games. The Smelter Demon boss fight in the same level is wayyy harder.
Also, I think they should've put Lost Izalith instead of the Iron Keep

unfortunately, because you are to much focussing on zelda, you miss some really impressive fire levels, for example terraria = underworld, or divinity ego draconis = razes flying fortress
terraria's underworld is very static. And not extremely impressive by any means at all.

You know, I was kind of hoping for an honorable mention to Ristar for the Sega Genesis in here. The Lava Planet (I believe was world 3) was incredible, and culminated in an awesome boss fight inside a collapsing volcano.

The lava levels of Donkey kong country returns and tropical freeze are my favorite because the lava gives a perfect sprite together with the soundtracks
Im not a fan of zelda but i think its gets alot of hate for stupid reasons..uncharted was on all of the level lists and it even made it to number 1 on one of the lists yet i dont see anyone hating on it and saying watchmojo are uncharted fanboys..maybe zelda is on every level list just like uncharted, mario, banjoo kazooie because it has a great level design? you didnt think about that?

You forgot the Magma Dragoon Stage from MegaMan X4, that place is a Inferno inside of a Volcanic Zone full with Lava, Falling Molten Stones and Debris and the Battle with Magma Dragoon over a Stone Platform inside of a Lava Lagoon

Ocarina of Time IS the best game of all time. Watchmojo gets it. They understand just incredible this game as a whole and breaking it down to its masterful individual parts.

Magmoor Caverns from Metroid prime is one of my favorites.
Some classic pvp memories to be had in the iron keep. I remember the first time i invaded someone and the bastard lowered the platform in the lava while i was still on it. Must have made his day.

Dude you got some Epic levels on that list yo !!!!!!!! always loved Hall fire peaks on banjo tooie that level brings back some of my best gaming memories and I also rilly like some of those others you minchend and the dance court looks like an epic level I'd like to request the volcano level on Kirby the crystal shard!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of my personal favorite lave levels is "The Wish Seed" from Kid Icarus Uprising. I like how in the flying section you can chose which flight path you can take, with one being more slow paced and the other filled with enemies and pillars of flames that shoot in different directions, all while being treated to an intense and awesome visual spectacle. Once you land there are secrets to uncover and shortcuts through the lave, provided you know what you're doing.
Called it. Seriously mojo, the fire temple in OOT is crap compared to other zelda fire temples. And there's no way it should have taken the top spot. I'm starting to think people aren't actually voting and that this host is just picking his favorites.....
Ok, being a huge Souls gamer, I should be happy to see the Iron Keep on this list, but honestly, the Iron Keep is one of the lower points in the game, *especially* Ichorous Earth, a.k.a. the Old Iron King, as the nametag puts it in-game. He may be intimidating in size, but that's it. His attacks are laughably easy to dodge, and usually aren't lethal as long as you manage your healing items well. Again, I know I shouldn't complain, but personally, I think the ruins of Lost Izalith in the first installment would've been far more appropriate here
I agree to a certain degree. Lost Izalith Was too, one of the worst levels on Dark Souls. First off, we have super weak bosses. Just to get in there you have to fight that Ceaseless Discharge useless boss. After that comes the fat demon, centipede demon, and lastly, Bed o Chaos. They all suck, they're all weak as shit, and that level is horrible. Plus, dinossaur legs are there, so it becomes instantly even more horrible.
Audico Lucas I actually enjoyed Discharge. He was interesting from a lore perspective, and on top of that was kind of fun when you didn't just cheese him. Also liked the centipede demon fight, because of having to take the lava into consideration, and while not exactly fun to face, the Bed of Chaos was aesthetically way cooler than Old Iron King was. And the dragon legs were just terrifying to me the first time through there, especially when watching to make sure my health didn't go to zero before making it to the hidden bonfire of the level. And to be fair, Discharge and the fiery asylum demon reskin were in demon ruins. I'm referring to the area from centipede demon on.
TheGospelgamer I don't know about lore, but the area looks terrible to me. Sure, Bed of Chaos aesthetically was cool, but the fight itself was idiotic. Centipede Demon never gave me trouble, even with all that lava, so in my experience, it's a bad boss, because it's just way too easy. Ceaseless Discharge is also incredibly easy, i don't know what fun you see in that fight. About those not being in Lost Izalith, yes, i'm aware, that's why i said "Just to get there", because it is, after all, a territory full of lava. Regardless, i think From Soft needs to update on the lava levels department, since on both games they suck ass and the textures look terrible, specially in ds1.
No Izalith sucks way worse. Izalith's enemy placement looks like a dev room. And Bed of Chaos is there. Personally I'd put Brume Tower from Ds2 (great Dark Souls level) or Volcano Manor from Elden Ring.
That lava level from Starcraft 2 reminds me of a similar level from a really old RTS called "Outpost 2"... I think there was lava or something which came from one side of the map and gradually wiped out your colony, so you had to constantly move your units and structures away from it until you could build a ship you could use to escape the planet, or something...

I loved Magmor Caverns of Metroid Prime, the music created an awesome setting
People wondering why Mario and Zelda always on the lists, it is because they made what videogames are, Mario and Zelda were made to be what the other was not. Mario was made to be the platformer while Zelda was made to be the opposite action adventure, and together they are the pillars that similar games are based on. It was Mario 64 that brought out platformers into 3D. And Ocarina of Time created an adventure game that was so iconic that people were happy to hate a portable version years later and honestly makes high spots in many lists.
OoT has become overated, but that does not mean that it is not hugely iconic that it does not deserve a place on these lists.
Not to mention it took the number 1 spot from Goldeneye 64 in Nintendo Power's magazine for a couple of years. That bugged me back then, since I preferred Goldeneye.
Ocarina of Time! It's about time watchmojo put this game on their lists. Well, of course it also had the best water level, boss battles, sky level, ground level, mind level, graphics, storyline, platforming, grinding, power-gliding, racing, hypothetical level, physics, realism, art-style, fight scenes, memorable quotes, characterization, sex scenes, music, horse riding, boat level, surfing, pokemon battling, voice acting, enemies, zombie fighting, job getting, rope swinging, apple eating, sword fighting... etc. This game is to good to have any flaws, and there is no possibility that games that came after it could EVER improve any of the mechanics this game had, even though the newer ones are also the best games ever. Lava Reef Zone and Norfair are Top 10 worthy. Also, Sonic and Metroid deserve the same love and recognition Mario and Zelda have.

I personally think that the Firefly boss fight from arkham origins deserved an honorable mention, that level was amazing!
the fire temple is the worst dungeon in the game I love oot but you're taking the piss with all this.

Sincerely, I do not agree with the 1st position. It's OK, Ocarina of Time is a great game and all you want... But the LoZ fans are starting to upset everyone by always puting that game in the Tops.
What about the other classics: Tomb Raider, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, Pac-Man World. NONE of those?! NOT EVEN as an Honorable Mention!!??

I actually had more problems fighting the Iron King over the Smelter Demon, mainly because the Smelter Demon was pretty predictable with his sword swings and his explosion move, but I kept screwing up and rolling into the lava when I fought the Iron King
I concur. Beat the Old Iron King on the first try. On the other hand, the Fume Knight from the DLC...murdered me countless times.

Very true, it is the one boss I found the easiest. It acts like a Ratchet and Clank boss with pattern attacks u just can walk away from. Its pretty lame really.

So the final fights in the Revenge of the Sith game on Mustafar. Or on Battlefront 2 are not even mentioned, also, no Mass Effect. Come on guys, leave Zelda alone and go choose another game for a change.
Doubt they've played it. Revenge of the Sith the game is such an underrated and under played game. My room mate at the time, who didn't even like Star Wars, LOVED this game. Sad no one knew of it..... Or the "ultimate" ending

True, I almost didn't put it on the list, but in the campaign, you do go to Mustafar.
My favourite fire level is Mount Horu from Ori and The Blind Forest, due to having so many different puzzles you have to solve within the area, as well as its final sequence which I wont spoil for anyone that wants to play it.
I know it's not a fire or lava 'level' but how about the fight with 'He Who Dwells' in inFAMOUS Second Son. Seeing that stage for the first time was unbelieveable and a great change of scenery.

Yes, OoT time is a Masterpiece indeed, but even in the Zelda series there are better levels than the fire temple. Probably OoT is the bes overall game in the franchise, but come on, not every single level of it is the best in the series. Stop it WatchMojo, even Zelda fans are getting tired of it. Just Stop.
I'm surprised the FreezeFlame Galaxy from Super Mario Galaxy didn't make this list, because that was a very fun world to play in lol

The level I can think of was Atlantis. The one level in the near-end where you have an Atlantean clone that mimics every move you make and you cannot kill it.
