The Nilgiri Tahr, a unique mountain goat, thrives on the high-altitude grasslands and rocky cliffs of the park. Males can be distinguished by their striking "saddleback" patches, while both genders boast curved horns and sturdy, well-adapted frames perfect for navigating the rugged terrain.
The Palani Laughing Thrush is a melodious bird with distinctive grey-brown plumage and a broad white supercilium. Often seen flitting through the montane forests and tea estates, its cheerful song brings life to the serene environment of Eravikulam. The harmonious presence of these species highlights the park's dedication to conservation and the rich biodiversity of the Western Ghats.
