2 days before my Meteo exam your previous video was released and now I have GNAV exam in two days and you released this video, what a coincidence!

Good Luck! It was a very banky exam in the german CAA :)

Tried to solve them and finished 3/5 correctly. Graduating in math always leads you the way. I like it.

If you are going to be successful with your ATPL test with Joe, be aware to train properly on your High Fives, too… 😂

Just curious, are math formulas provided on the exam or do you need to remember all of them?

question 2 : and how is this done in praxis with or without ruder / pedale ?
werden eure luftfahrzeuge nur mit "rollen" oder auch mit "heckleitruder" trimmen auf die korrektur strecke geflogen ?

Hi! It is my dream to become a pilot but I’m a bit scared of the DLR test, if I fail it can I apply for it again?

Hello cap Joe please explain this one mor time for me the heavy call from a pilot to a control tower and i herd this from another pilot saying that is an obligation that all pilots should speak English and also all controllers should likewise i understand that this method is mandatory

Fascinating and very well presented (I’m not training to be a pilot!). Bearing is pronounced “bäh-ring”. 😊

Honestly, just don't overthink. The first one, you can quickly find out, that you've traveled more towards west. Just that knowledge alone leaves answer D as it is the only answer with a point that is to the west of the starting position.

Does anyone have a solution to measuring accurate bearings and distances (e.g from VORs) when you only have a digital attachment during the exam and clearly CANNOT draw lines, mark positions or touch the bloody computer screen with a compass needle? Because of this, sometimes my answers are not as accurate as they should be.

Why don't we use a coordinate system based directly on distances, like the Gauss-Kruger system or UTM?

    • @AutonomousNavigator
      @AutonomousNavigator Месяц назад +1

UTM is great for short distances. But there's a lot of grid overlap at high latitudes, and it's not even defined at the high latitudes.

But the second question asks for a magnetic heading. Yet 317 is correct ?

613201 is just foolish, you would use the VOR receiver to indicate the radial and follow the radial. A radial approximates a magnetic course but it is not a magnetic course nor heading. VOR radials also naturally follow great circle routes so there is no route which is more direct than following the radial.
One could argue that local winds could create a situation where there is a faster track but good luck getting wind forecasts that accurate, manually calculating and then flying such a route efficiently.

I already have no idea how to solve the first question without having a computer or Internet 😮😢
In my opinion such questions are absolutely USELESS.
No real pilot will ever, ever need such a calculation in his entire career.

In my opinion, the natural human experience is that the earth is flat. It's what we "see" But it is not flat. Humans even with GPS and the like have not overcome these limitations. I am going to have a nap.
