- This Minecraft map has been updated for over 13 YEARS! It began in the alpha days and has been continuously worked on ever since. Join me, the creator of the City of Newisle, as we take a journey down memory lane together and see why I built this world and what inspired me to keep going - with never before seen screenshots to tell the story. Truly, Newisle is one of the oldest Minecraft maps still being actively updated to this day!

I love that the original castle is still there, standing against the test of time
And no matter how many shiny new skyscrapers and such are built up around it, forever it shall remain.
In my opinion it is without a doubt one of the best Minecraft city maps along with Greenfield.

Greenfield is an amazing project and it's great to hear you think Newisle is up there with it.
It's better than Greenfield. Greenfield was made by a team of over 400 builders with Creative mode. Newisle was made by one guy in Survival mode. They are not the same.

I follow the map since 2018, 5 years pass by. I always get inspiration from this map! By the way I like the town of Stillwater😂

I bought this map 2 days ago and i having a blast!! Me and my brother just enjoying so much exploring together. This men just build an entire country in Minecraft. With details and cool references (like the red rocket station from fallout series) and funny little details. Must buy. The guy made it with love and passion, you can feel it while playing.

This is really motivating. I’m now trying to build a similar project in my world on RUclips. I’m currently in that transition phase of it going from a world that could be abandoned to being impossible to abandon. Hopefully I make it through and continue my plan.

I've played this world in 2020 and I was also on the discord server when you were uploading some pre-releases..And I stopped playing that year too, but then I reinstalled again earlier this year and I'm so happy knowing 1.3 is finally released! Right now I'm still familiarizing with the new builds, and I think I'm lost right now somewhere in Rockwood 😂😂 I'll find my way back though, since I'll be going to explore the Olde Town next. Thank you for your hardwork! You did great

I wonder what the timelapse of the city looked like in the beginning in 2010 till today in 2024 The view of the city core and gradually more buildings start to rise from the ground as years go by in the same point of view of the city landscape!

Sad that building shaped like an egg is demolished. It is the tallest from around 2010 to 2014. Really a unique skyscraper.
Unique but, in the end, not very aesthetically pleasing. I built it back when Creative mode didn't exist yet and placing every piece of cobblestone dozens of blocks from the ground was a potentially life-threatening task, so making something impressive wasn't really an option. Plus, I like having a little park there more.
@@BlipNoir True. Switching out a massive brutalist monstrosity for a little park. I still kept some ugly but unique buildings from the early days of VladenVille though, such as the VladenVille Microsoft building(Possibly built march/april 2022). Its quiet ugly as the facade is really messed up.
Hi!!!!! I LOVE Newisle! I just got it! So I remember you said there were secrets all throughout. Could you do a video on them? I have only found one so far!! I completely understand if you want people to find them themselves I just want to find more but don't know where to start! Thanks. Love it.
Thanks for the kind words and so glad to hear you're having fun. The secrets range from funny signs I made years ago to things like laboratories, player homes, an underground nightclub and more. I think the secrets are best left to the players to discover. Otherwise, they wouldn't be so secret. :)

Hey thanks for the kind words. The best advice I can give you is to find inspiration in the world around you or in cities or architectural styles you like. I lived in Toronto for most of my life, so I got a lot of inspiration from that city as well as places like New York, Chicago and Montreal.
When you find a style you like, try to work with it. Use some photos to follow along with and try to recreate buildings or areas or create your own. Newisle is unique, but just like a real architect might do it borrows elements and planning from real-world places.
I may do a video series about starting a city in the future if that's something that might interest people.

Survival at the beginning because Creative mode didn't exist yet but Creative after it was introduced. I'm not a masochist.

Nope, I'm not a masochist. I started in Survival because Creative mode didn't exist yet but when Creative mode came out I made the switch over to that.

It started in Survival because Creative mode didn't exist at the time. Then when Creative was introduced I switched over to that.

Which mod you used to build it so fast
The only mod I used was Amulet Editor to build some of the more tedious things like roads, rail, etc. It's easier to copy and paste those.
