- Moti is Fernando Rojo's new open-source library for simplifying React Native animations.
Based on Reanimated 2, its API is quite interesting, especially for beginners.

Moti extends ReAnimated2 which extends ReactNative.Animated which extends Native. So much abstraction 🤯 I can’t wait to try it.
lmao
Something really great its that he also took some ways to work with animations from Framer Motion, that's incredible!
I know right! It’s good to reuse what’s been working great in other projects. He knows what he’s doing for sure :)
Awesome video, thanks for having me
Anytime :)
Awesome! Finally now I can make some animations
I know the feeling, right! Hope this was helpful!
Hahaha. I remember when we got into this discussion of a Framer Motion on both realms (web and mobile). Happy to see this Moti trying to do this.
I'm looking forward to moti. It's very interesting.
I think it's part of the whole Reanimated 2 movement, and it is all quite interesting! Will share more.
@evening kid can you please do a series on Reanimated 2 or even Moti like you've done for Animated. I wouldn't mind paying for the course on Udemy as your content is brilliant.
Thank you so much for the kind words! I could, there's a lot of Reanimated2 content on my channel already and more is coming. Could you be more precise on what you wish to learn about these two exactly?
@@eveningkid I meant like a structured course like William Candilion's start-react-native.dev.
But it's totally upto you.
I've been really thinking a lot about this, if you stick around, there might be another series at some point. In any event, there will always be cool React Native videos on this channel. Stay tuned :)
@@eveningkid Whatever you do man, I'll be there to support you :)
Great video. Thanks for telling us about Moti 🙌
Happy you liked the video, hope you can use it in your projects!
THIS IS INSAAAAAANEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
omg I'm crying out of joy.
Looks good!
Will you put some tutorials explaining the basics of it?
Not sure yet, I think the documentation is pretty self explanatory. There’s a lot of things to cover on this channel, so in any way, if you like react native you’ll be happy! Thank you for posting :)
@@eveningkid yeah, looked into the documentations lately. It is pretty good. I listened to your podcast too. It gave an overview. Very happy to find a declarative library like Moti.
this is so so promising
Looks very interesting!
It is, I am sure with some patience we'll see it grow pretty quickly!
this is so dope !!
Right? Have you tried it yet? :)
Getting Error as Cannot read property 'useContext' of null
Library looks interesting, but personally do not like inline animation styles. Thanks for sharing!
I think it's great we get to choose what works best for us! Have you tried plain Reanimated2?
@@eveningkid Not yet, i suppose is still in beta?
@@Denis-fc2sv Yes, sort of! I am sure that either way, we'll soon enough have a great way to animate everything. You should give it a try really, it's great!
reanimated 2 crashes the app built by expo in product mode
Finally 😭 animations my brain can understand thank you dear man thank you! 🪙
Is it safe to use?
Great question: if you consider Reanimated 2 safe, Moti is too! If you're thinking of using it in production, you could wait a little longer
this is too much for me, I think reanimated is enough
