Years Ago, I picked up this wonderful Pickup. For months and then years, I worked to bring it back to it's former glory.
This is a "Re-introduction"! For the next few months, I'll upload a video weekly showing how it went from relic to Restored!

Every time I see your little truck it makes me miss my rabbit and wish I had a pickup like it. They were awesome little trucks and like you said you can swap out several different motors and transmissions. I was told that the VW sciroccos came with a slightly heavier duty transmission so many would put them in the rabbits especially with the non turbo diesel engine of the time. I would love to get a truck like yours and drop in a HD 5 speed and one of the non turbo diesel engines. I would have a great little truck that would be an economical daily driver. Heck even if I had to use the turbo diesel engine, it would have a bunch more power and should still be able to get at least 37 plus mpg but honestly it should get even better than that when it's empty. I really should try and find one that has a rust free chassis and body, because they are becoming harder and harder to find.
