Libtech orca vs Ride warpig or twinpig
Just picked up a Twinpig on Curated the other day. Been loving every second on that beast!
It’s amazing ! Had it for the last two months and it’s a ripper , the only problem I have is the durability .
@@beavasswhat happend?
Commenting on the board's carving capabilities while demonstrating sliding turns... Sick
Loved the comparison. Thanks so much. I live on the east coast so I’m assuming the best recommendation between these 2 would be the twinpig but just want to hear it from you guys straight.
It's just so versatile and having the camber will make for more fun on those hardpack kinda boring groomer days. Hit up my profile if you wanna chat more about it!
@@francodirienzo6031 how do I do that?
Im 5’5 and got the 142 twinpig this year and it’s been so much fun to ride. Super light and makes it easy to learn switch
That’s sick! It really is such a fun board, it’s one I kept going back to this year.. I had to fight Franco for it some days
Nice review! I saw you made a recommendation to someone on board size. Would really appreciate it if I could get your expert opinion. I’m 5’11”, 190lbs, and a size 11 boot. What board length would you recommend? Hope to hear back from you! Thanks :)
I really enjoy my twinpig 🤙🏽🏂💯
I have them both, and I love them both
Maybe you can help guide me... I spend 75% if my time cruising and carving, and 25% learning/practicing switch, butters and side hits. Would I be sacrificing a lot of carving ability if I go with the Twinpig? and on the flip side, would the Warpig make it harder on me to progress at switch and buttering? My main priority is the carving and cruising ability. If the twinpig is 90% as good as the warping in those areas, I will probably get it. Would appreciate your feedback so much.. Thanks in advance
@@mikemaz6121 I would go with the twinpig. But truthfully, I snowboard in Ohio, so I dont have much experience as far as big mountain stuff. But I'm comfortable recommending the Twinpig because of this video. However you may want to comment on video and not here in the reply section that way Curated can better advise you
@@mikemaz6121 also I ride a little switch on both so either would be fine. I'd also suggest watching the Warpig vid on Board Archive
@@headreddedstepchild6177 Thank you I appreciate this. I was just hoping to hear another opinion from someone who has experience with both. Strongly consider both
@@mikemaz6121 to be completely honest, I have the 2020 warpig, with the awesome fluorescent base, so that may play into my love for it a little too
Great!! What about the Superpig? would be interesting comparison as well.
That's a great idea, would love to get on the Superpig as well.
I was going to say the same thing. Really would love to see if superpig would outdo in all 3 areas or fall short!
hey, nice review, I am thinking about buying a twinpig. Manly because of that freestyle site, but having the option of going in to pow. but do you thinks it will just do oke in pow or some what decent ? for sure it will not be the same as a normal free ride board. greetings from Germany
Hallo Herzblut! Alex here, snowboard expert @ Curated.com ( www.curated.com/experts/alex.v ) - to answer your question - check out 'Twinpig Chile' on RUclips - you'll see that this deck can actually handle powder surprisingly well! Hmu on my profile if you want to chat or possibly get a discount on this one 🤙 I'm usually pretty quick to respond!
I would love to see the burton skeleton key against the ride warpig! also love the content keep up the great work guys!
Thanks Jacob!! What board are you riding this season?
@@colby87 im riding a super old k2 board and i bough it super cheap because i was just getting into snowboarding and i’m going to try and get a new board. i’ve got it narrowed down to skeleton key or the warpig and i’ll be happy with either but i just want the most versatile board for my riding style. I like to hide hard and fast and in deep snow and ride trees. Just want to see a comparison between those two
@@jacobbird1342 That's awesome man, sounds like my kind of riding. If you want to chat about those two boards in more detail I would be happy to! You can shoot me a message on my profile at curated here www.curated.com/referral/colby.henderson
Looking at picking up a Twinpig this year. Any recommendation on size for a bigger guy? I'm 6'0 230. Thinking about going with the 154. Thoughts?
Great review! I had my burton process for 5 years and want to upgrade. I mainly like to ride Diamonds and Blue (Vermont) for carving, tree-runs and sometimes buttering purposes (not really into park). Does it sound like the Warpig is the better option for me? Also I am 5'11 and 165pounds, what size board should i get?
Hey Nery88! Alex here, snowboard expert @ Curated.com ( www.curated.com/experts/alex.v ) - to answer your question - I would definitely recommend the 151 based on your body build & weight class because it's meant to be ridden shorter due to its volume shifted shape! Hmu on my profile if you want to chat! 🤙
M (151) would be good for you, or L (154) if you mainly do carving
My brother has the twin, I have the war..they’re both fun af
this is helpful
Wow...I own both and I’m sorry the twin pig does not carve better than the warpig. It’s great in the park but simply does not hold an edge as well as the warpig. Looks like you guys are riding some blue runs. Take it out on some steeper runs and get some speed and you will see the difference. The twin pig will wash out a lot quicker than the warpig. Also the warpig has just as much pop as the twin pig you just load it different due to the camber profile. Lol at taking the twin pig out west!
I don’t man I rode my brother’s 2019 Twinpig in Keystone this weekend with hard, thinnish snow and it held edge and gripped super well. I absolutely loved it!! He did just get it sharpened so maybe that was why, but that thing ripped!
Hey Guys, love your reviews. I would like to know your opion between a Ride Twinpig and Jones mountain twin. Greets from Holland, Frank.
That's an interesting one. The Mountain twin is definitely a bit softer and of course quicker edge to edge. The twinpig is just so fun and versatile. I had both of those boards to ride this season and the one I kept grabbing was the twinpig.
@@francodirienzo6031 thanks for your respons Franco. Still not sure what to choose, maybe both:). Keep up to good reviews!
@@frank1974Amersfoort When in doubt, buy both!!
I am buying Twinpig 151. 5'51 , 144 lbs, and size 9 boot. I'm right? recently learning some jumps.
Hey Franciso! If you're 5'5, 144 lbs, I'd suggest the 148 since it's a wide more volume-shifted board. Hmu if you want to land the best deal on this one or any other equipment 🤙 Alex, snowboard expert www.curated.com/experts/alex.weber
What size twinpig do you recommend for a 5'9 160 lbs guy? Thanks a lot and nice video!
Hey Chris! Alex here, snowboard expert @ Curated.com ( www.curated.com/experts/alex.v ) - to answer your question - I'd suggest the 151 or 154 depending on your boot size and what terrain you like to ride 🤘 Hmu on my profile if you want to chat!
I’m 6’2 170 go for 151 or smaller
Thanks for the video! I am making decision between the two recently!
Let us know if we can help deciding!
@@francodirienzo6031 Haha, I just got the Twinpig and going for my first ride tomorrow! Hope I made a good decision~
@@adamzhang6384 You'll love it!
Thinking about getting a twinpig, i usually ride a 159 as a 5"10 185 size 11.5 shoe. Should I try the 151 or the 154?
Depends
Hey Ryan! Bobby from Curated here. Not gonna lie man, this is a tough one! I think it ultimately comes down to your riding style and kind of terrain you’re looking to shred. For jibbing, side-hits, steep tree runs, and overall having a super nimble platform with easy turn initiation, flex, quick spins etc - go Twinpig 151 (waist width 263mm)
If you’re looking to be a bit more versatile in the park, haul down some groomers and are overall more of an experienced rider, I’d say go 154. Lots to consider hahahah. If you want, shoot me a message at 650-284-3325 to get connected with me on Curated.com and we’ll get things dialed in bro! Cheers
Hey i have similar stats to yours and i got the 154 honestly i could have ridden the 151 its such a solid board that a little more play wouldnt be a terrible thing. It would just be lighter and a bit more nimble
hey, I think I'm sold on the twinpig after watching this comparison. Thanks! Which size do you recommend for me - 142 or 148? I'm 5'8 150lbs.
148
I agree with the other comment I'd go 148
The reason I say that is because I'm also 150 and got the 148 and it's perfect.
Same height and weight, just picked up a 157 🤣
I also want to bomb groomers would you still recommend the 148 vs 151?
Were you guys riding the same size Warpig as you were the Twinpig
Yep! Both boards were in a size 151. A little smaller than usual since both boards are volume shifted
Great review. Thank you. What is the twintip size for 5'1", 125lb? Thanks.
Hey Gio! Alex here, snowboard expert @ Curated.com ( www.curated.com/experts/alex.v ) - to answer your question - the shortest length these come in is a 142 which might work for you! Hmu on my profile if you want to chat 🤙 I'm usually pretty quick to respond!
Hi I’m 170cm and weigh 53 kg what size for the twin pig would u recommend?
Hey Emii! Alex here, snowboard expert @ Curated.com ( www.curated.com/experts/alex.v ) - to answer your question, I'd suggest a model in the 152-155 range! Hmu on my profile if you want to chat!
hi there - I had the second iteration of Warpig and was super happy with it - in powder. It was awesome powder deck. But on groomers and in carving it was a failure - it was so wide that I struggle to have it on edge. It has no magne or similar disrupted edge tech. Where I live we have much more groomer days that powder so I finally sold the Warpig. In general, this trend - short wide and superwide decks - IMO it was with limited success. If you do not have large enough feet - 11 or more - these deck just do not work well for you. I returned to regular wide decks and I have no intention to go wide again.
I was wondering how the Warpig is with edge to edge. Seems the Twinpig is a better option.
@@Searchin4tone it seems it is. anyway, Twinpig is wide as well.
@@Searchin4tone The twinpig is definitely quicker edge to edge as the camber pops you out of the turn where as the warpig is a longer drawn out turn, not much pop. The both carve and hold well when in the turn but the twinpig is more energetic.
Get gnu grimlin. And u'll never want another board except a park board where twin pig is fantastic
5’11 , 170 lbs and size 13 boot . Which twin pig do you recommend
Hey there! Alex here, snowboard expert @ Curated.com ( www.curated.com/experts/alex.v ) - to answer your question - I would definitely recommend the 156W based on your body build & boot size. Hmu on my profile if you want to chat! 🤙
Hey there! Alex here, snowboard expert @ Curated.com ( www.curated.com/experts/alex.v ) - to answer your question - I would definitely recommend the 156W based on your body build & boot size. Hmu on my profile if you want to chat! 🤙
just purchased this board 5'9 180 i down sized to 151 should be ok ? and also what bindings should i pair any suggestion please !
I have the same size board and I’m 5’9 and 155lbs. I got the union atlas mustard yellow color. Looks great and I love the bindings it’s more of a stiffer binding as well.
@@pigleypoop Thanks
That should be the perfect size for you. I'm rocking Unions's as well!
@@pigleypoop how do you like the 151? I’m literally the same height/weight as you and i’m thinking about going with the 151 to maybe give me a tiny bit more versatility outside of the park opposed to the 148.
@@RileysDogma I enjoyed it last season, I based my decision on getting the 151 cause of this previous video review by board archive, he’s roughly the same size as me 5’10 and about 155lbs. m.ruclips.net/video/bGR7cfEFNys/видео.html
I liked it and I also have the lib tech orca 150 so I’m used to volume shifted wider boards. This season I’m looking at getting the bataleon Goliath 154 or 156, I’ll be keeping the other two boards or sell one if I do get the bataleon. I think I prefer to get a twin compared to the orca directional so can practice switch better although the orca is great in pow.
Does the asymmetrical shape of the Twinpig mean that you’ll naturally have more heel overhang? I can’t get my toe and heel overhangs to be balanced and I’m guessing that’s just how it is? I found it far less responsive on toe side turns. Anyone else who has the board know what I’m talking about?
What bindings do you have on it? Are you sure your base plates are on correctly? I have Now Brigade's on mine, and I had one base plate backwards when I set it up
@@headreddedstepchild6177 I had Burton Missions. I couldn’t centre the binding up due to Burton’s limited adjustability. I sold them and bought Union STR’s so that I could adjust the heel cup. Boot/binding/board fit is centred now and perfect. Love the board
Would you recommend the twinpig 157 for a 6,2" guy with size 13 feet?
Hey Marvin! Alex, snowboard expert @ Curated.com ( www.curated.com/experts/alex.v ) - to answer your question, depending on your weight, I'd probably try to steer you towards the 158 Ride Warpig. If you're really set on the Twinpig you might be able to feel okay on the 156W. Hmu thru my profile link above if you have any more questions! 🤙 I'm usually pretty quick to respond!
I rode a 157 at 5’7 for a decade. Won races with it
@@obamavariant9128that's awesome! Seems like a similar situation to Mark McMorris riding a Burton Custom long at a 170
can you guys do one comparing the Orca and the Gremlin????
Would love to!! The Gremlin has come up a lot it’s definitely on our radar, thanks for the comment 🤙🤙
where y'all riding downsized 6-10cm?
They're both volume shifted boards so you can ride them smaller. By the chart I'm too heavy for the 151 but honestly it wasn't an issue. If I bought one I'd probably get the twinpig in a 154 though.
I just bought the 2022 Twinpig (156W) and the 2022 Warpig (158) as I really can't work out which is better for me...
I'm 6ft, 240lbs, size US 13 boot and have 3 solid seasons under my belt so this year I'd like to get more into switch and the parks, but still be able to regularly use groomers, carve at speed and handle hardpack well due to my local conditions. If it makes a difference, I'm switching to Step On this year as well.
Which one should I keep that will be the best all-rounder for me?
Hey Jonathan! Alex, snowboard expert @ Curated.com ( www.curated.com/experts/alex.v ) - to answer your question, the Ride TwinPig will be better in the park and for riding switch! Hmu thru my profile link above if you have any more questions! 🤙 I'm usually pretty quick to respond!
