Every single hair on me stood straight up. It has been so long since I heard this old time favorite. It was a mainstay at every Polish wedding my family had. I used to hear it on our local Polka station sometimes during milking too. The station had "the milking hour show". I miss those days.
thank you guys very much for the comments and for letting me know who the 3rd clarinet player was! I have more that I will be posting as soon as I get time to transfer them onto my computer. Anyone have any requests of bands they would like to see?
It's really funny seeing myself years later...(Chris Szymczak) I'm playing pickup notes .. Jimmy Weber is playing lead and Eddie is harmony to that... Someone asked when the tune was written. Originally "grandfathers polka translated from polish" or later known as Clarinet Polka was written "officially" in 1895 but may be based on a polish folk medley.
I wish i could play my trumpet as well as him. I remember i talked to him about how he got so good.... but practice and many many lessons does not seem to add up to being able to play that well to me. That is def a gift right there!
A lot of people in this column are playing down the Polish American polka style. I now live in Alabama and this music is almost nonexistent down here. Perhaps these comments are from people who are heavy into hiphop or rock. I am a Polish and I love this music. Keep up the fabulous sound!
wot the hell is the official name for this polka? ive been trying to download authentic polka songs in my dads memory and need to know the name of the these great classics....

I play accordion & I play trumpet. Listening to this makes me smile - and I think that's what polka music is supposed to do. Thanks for posting this.
Top notch polka band. Sounds like the St. Stan's church picnics when I was a kid.
You don't have to be polish to love polish polkas. There is no comparison. The clarinet's are awesome. This rendition really rocks.
Oh man I love this. This song is the reason I took up Clarinet lessons in the 4th grade. Just Wonderful.

Wrong, the polka originated in Germany and then later became more associated with the Poles.
Wow thats bad to the bone
take that horrible trumpet playing out and you have an outstanding piece of music.
If I wanted to hear blaring trumpet players, the last piece I'd request would be "Clarinet Polka." Simply awful.
