I remember watching this video over and over when I was a kid, waiting for the game release. Commandos is one of my favorite games of all times even now, almost 20 years later. Nowadays many games have nice graphics, amazing sountracks, AAA production values but, after all that time there's only a few games that had surprised me and I felt I was experiencing something new. Commandos is still a genre on itself.
Same here! I rewatched it countless times with my friend, so much that we still use "Hans..?" in conversation. And the Commandos 2 came out and my PC could't run it, haha.
I remember in autumn 2001 when I read about this game for the first time in Igromania (russian magazine about video games) and saw screenshots from the game. I was very exited and anticipated Commandos 2 so much. I was in 6th or 7th grade. Good times) I was a fan of Commandos 1 and clones in that time.
Indeed. I think Pyro studios went all out with Commandos 2. Fantastic graphics, beautifully crafted levels, memorable sound track, upgraded gameplay mechanics coming from C1. It was a very high quality game. Sadly Commandos 3 was a giant leap backwards, and then we all know what happened with the 1st person shooter spinoff...
@@Fucklesticks cmd 3 was definitely rushed, with an extra year or even just few months into polishing, it could have came out great. The first person shooter was definitely not bad, i enjoy it and prob one of my fav fps game, the game have bad reputation among rtt cmd fans, the fan base doesnt like the game cause it had "commandos" in the title but isnt a commandos game.
I remember 20+ years ago, before youtube, it took me 5-6 hours to download this video trailer which was around 86MB in size with my speedy Connexant 56K Fax modem 😭It is funny how I can download the same file size in less than 2 seconds nowadays. Aah, I really don't miss those days, but sometimes I do, nostalgia?
Lmao i love that the game implying you can hide behind coversor something, meanwhile in the reak game the enemy gets 100% accuracy and machinrgun is buggy as hell, also apper lost his ability to use the knife
