In my experience, jvc decks were Not as good as nakamicki. None the less, they have a charm that will never be matched. The jvc kd-vr5 is my favorite deck. It’s not the best but you can’t beat the digital peak and tape run indicators.
I certainly did enjoy the video. That's a great deck! Love the features on it. I always wonder what some of the older reel-to-reels and the older vintage tape decks would sound like if you would record the output directly on the computer. I'd love to hear an example sometime.
I have some examples on my channel, but I won't do that in every video because it's always a big mess doing that because everything has to be set up correctly before. The video about my Technics record player was done with the player directly connected to the computer.
This video inspired me to get this deck. I bought two on eBay for 60 us dollers. Both not working. I replaced the capstan and directional motor. I got one working and is now in our setup in the family room. Thank you. One question I have was your comment on saying that it was impossible to reach some screws. Were u just taking the mech out?
@@DrCassette I found out later that this model does not have a volume adjustment for output (i.e. line out or headphone out) -- there is an internal adjustment but that is for a technician to adjust, not the user. So, this model has no output adjustment! Apparently, any volume change (to speakers, etc.) has to be done through an amp. Thanks anyway for your reply.
I generally don't like autoreverse cassette decks with the flip-head mechanism because they often don't hold their alignment very well. Keep in mind this video is from 2009. I don't even remember what happened to this cassette deck.
This JVC series was really good.
I think JVC made the best mechanisms, silent and long lasting. This deck sounds like a good cd player.

I didn't see any volume knob (output) -- how did you change the volume for this demo tape you did? thanks.
A am not sure what you mean? Can you provide the time stamp your question refers to?

@@drcoolit Oh okay, that's what you meant. Sometimes it's the simple questions that catch you out :)
Nice deck but im not crazy about auto reverse deck. Most of them inherently have Azimuth issue.
Danke!
Well, it wasn't the correct motor. I had to modify it before it worked. But it is from Matsushita, like the origial motor.
@bildfang
Thanks for the info! :)
nice
More gadgets
Would you still agree that this Cassette deck is a good/nice one?

Do you still have the jvc kd v6
No, I sold that cassette deck years ago. It was a nice deck, but I just wasn't using it anymore and I didn't want it to break down.
What music is you playing in this video?
A Flock Of Seagulls - "The More you live, the more you love"
