Every time Rachel speaks, I'm left in awe. Only she could have uncovered this now-obscure sequence of historical events to throw a blinding light on what we face today. IMO she herself will go down in history as the greatest journalist of our time.

Isn’t it the truth! When Bill Moyers retired, I feared we would never again have an extraordinary journalist with a conscience on the air. News had turned into junk food not fit for a growing nation. Then along came Rachel. Not only a consummate researcher and essayist, but also and at the same time, a model representative of the LGBTQ community. She would probably not agree with that title, neither do I, frankly, but in reality, we needed her for that purpose, as well. May she live long and keep prospering infinitely.

@@ThePhilfyPhil Well the big one would be her Russia, Russia, Russia stories that made her wealthy. ""While he was president, President Trump never encouraged Americans to get vaccinated."-Lie. The Russian Bounty Story-Biden administration made clear in a fact sheet released that the CIA's intelligence on the matter is far from conclusive, acknowledging that analysts labeled it "low to moderate confidence." "Now we know that the vaccines work well enough that the virus stops with every vaccinated person," Maddow said on her show the evening of March 29, 2021.-Lie
During her election coverage on Tuesday, the host accused the “far-right” of using “open carry” as a means to intimidate voters.-there is not an ounce of fact there. Rachel Maddow embarrassed herself and MSNBC when she hyped the fact that she “got Trump tax returns,” only to reveal two pages from the president’s 2005 1040 form.

    Stellar speech!
What a great way to weave the tale of our past together with our current issues. This glimpse of our history helps us to be aware of how these issues were dealt or not in the past. We need to understand why letting our currenr uncomfortable and wrong political shenanigans slide by without any meaningful punishment does not act as a deterrent for present or future wrong doers.
As Rachel has often pointed out before in a Mark Twain quote, "History never repeats itself, but it does often rhyme."
Students and citizens need to learn past truths and facts even when those can make us uncomfortable. That historical awareness, those truths, and that knowledge can hopefully aid us in our present and future decisions.

Loved BagMan and everything else she does. Another brilliant job of tying the past to the present, as she is currently doing with her podcast "Deja News" I miss her nightly shows so much, but I'm just grateful to have her on Mondays. She is a paid shill of the military industrial complex. she gets trotted out to speak in support of weapons manufacturers to put a liberal shine on the American war machine and make people like you think you are the good guys. This is Mockingbird journalism and you know nothing of history or the world around you, outside of U.S. propaganda you got taught in school. She supports all the imperial wars America is fighting right now for profit and power.. but we don't talk about those wars and if we are forced to, we're fighting those wars to "stop terrorism" and overthrowing governments is spun as some humanitarian mission.. all while we continue to kill and torture innocent people abroad and the world hates us more by the day.

Love and appreciate Rachel and her research team for giving us the full circle of history. Have been a fan since she first went on the air.
Would also like to give a large shoutout to MSNBC for allowing her to have that long uninterrupted beginning to her shows so she can put her story into full context. Was listening to Christiane Amanpour being interviewed one night. She said that as a foreign and war correspondent she needed 20 minutes to explain the history of how we got to that moment. With editing she could the basic points across in 10-15 minutes. She had, on a good day, 2 1/2 minutes before a 5 minute commercial break.

This just makes me even prouder of the family history I recently learned. My Grandma is 97. At a mini reunion, we labeled old photos. One was my great grandparents who met when his family had their turn to provide room & board the the local school teacher in the South Dakota Badlands. One was my then infant grandpa, whose dad was in Europe, guarding German WW1 POWs being repatriated. Another was my grandparents’ 1945 wedding photo. There was one of grandpa in his VFW uniform, too. He & many other Midwest farm boys enlisted in WW2. My grandma & her sister went to nursing school & she joined the USO. His National Guard unit was one of those who kicked Rommel’s Nazi a$$ out of N. Africa, after regular troops had massive losses there. They arrived in Italy in time to see Mussolini’s corpse & helped Antifa/ resistance fighters capture remaining fascists. His unit had had their photos taken with FDR, on a campaign stop. (The area around Mt Rushmore is popular with candidates. A regulation passed, preventing the draft of all a family’s boys, so families wouldn’t lose their farms. There was no bar to them all enlisting & all 4 in his family did. Same in Grandma’s, for the 2 of age. The majority of Americans were like my grandparents, who saw & chose the right side of history. Same is true today. We MUST vote & attend public meetings in numbers that make it undeniable!

Who else exists who can deliver a message so eloquently, so passionately as Rachel Maddow today? She conjures up the notion of a soothsayer; begins with a witty ditty and leaves you in deep thought. Truman probably chose to "let it go" so as to allow the nation to heal, for grieving parents to grieve, but what now...can the USA afford to look away from Trump?

I just spent a few years in the course of a biography , looking at fledgling German propaganda efforts in the US during WW1.
