I'm glad that you're one of those Catholics, especially one who does Traditional Latin Mass, that doesn't swallow the "Palestinian" hogwash. Side note, Mosab Hassan Yousef has been big on denouncing the "Palestinian" narrative.
You are thinking of Red Horizons by Ion Mihai Pacepa. That book has the gross details about Arafat. His other books, Disinformation and Programmed to Kill are also great.
Technically, Gaza was given autonomy but not enough for a state. Israel gave Gaza with conditions that they can't have an airforce and the borders including are regulated. If they were a country they would have had an airforce and regulate their borders.
