Well done on the 1K subs! Another great video, Expertflyer is clearly useful for planning a trip, something that I am now starting to look at, so will check it out. Thanks
Congratulations on gaining 1,000 subscribers, Matt! Before ‘You know what’ I had a pro subscription to Expert Flyer, but didn't use half the tools you showed here and the ones I did use, (mostly seat alerts) I didn't use to their full potential. I'm holding off paying for the pro subscription again until I start planning a USA Tier Point Run. I've bookmarked this video and your ITA Matrix one to refer to for maximum optimisation for when the time comes. Thanks for the invaluable info!
Also congrats. on your 1K subscription we'll done. Really liked this one Matt very informative, maybe have a look at expert flyer, must say I like the matrix one have used it a few times. Peter
Fantastic video yet again ! In a world where travel has come to an abrupt stop it makes one day dream again about travel ! LHR to JFK booked on VA in upper class on the a350 1/12/2021 ! OPEN THOSE BORDERS US !
Well done on the much sought-after 1K subs! I found this video particularly interesting since I’ve only ever used the free version of Expertflyer before. Having watched this, I think it may well be time I tried the premium version for a month or two, especially if I’m planning a TP run next year…
Hi Matt, thanks for the video, subscribed to expert flyer a while ago, this will help me get better use of my subscription. Also when you are covering a similar subject may be worth adding a bit about, this website, (You tube will not let me put a web link in !) which gives the average and longest wait times , that the US border force are taking to process US and Non US Citizens at various airports in the US. Of note for me last Thu longest wait for Term 7 JFK (BA) was 101 minutes (at 1400hrs) for non-US! May be able to help people planning Tier Point Runs and connections times. Thanks again.
Cheers Mike - that looks like a handy site... Usually comments with links get ringfenced by YT and I can then approve them so do you want to share and I can release it? Or do a website dot com thing?
Congratulations on passing 1000 subscribers Matt! You deserve it! Instead of posting feedback, a question today; what was the aircraft type that you experienced your best flight ever on (as far as you remember with a flight log like you have) and why? For me it was ironically an Embraer 190STD with KLM. That plane is just so nimble, but stable, 2x2 config is also pretty neat. Never had a smoother and pleasant flight than that one from AMS-WAW. Love to hear your story, and if not, I'd love to hear it in some sort of upcoming video! Much love, Peter-Jan
Thanks Peter. Interesting question... The most interesting aircraft type I've ever been on was a DC-3 from Puerto Ordaz to Canaima in Venezuela. We then also took that plane on a sightseeing flight over the angel falls. In 1995... A remarkable experience... More generally I find the experience is driven by the airline and its service offering rather than the aircraft itself - I can remember great flights on Qatar, Singapore, BA (in F, rather than the club dormitory) and plenty of others without instantly recalling the equipment. Do look out for A350's these days though... I have thought about doing more anecdotal videos - I have some cracking taxi stories to tell, but I have no idea whether they'd be interesting... Might be worth a try though?
Late comment here - love the videos! Question: Is there anywhere I can search for a flight by fare code? Fx. I wish fly on fare code P with Thai Airways due to good points on that fare Anywhere to search for all available Thai Airways flights with fare code P? Hope it makes sense 😊
ITA Matrix will do that for you and there's a video on the channel on that software too. From memory "Airline = TG, f bc=p" should give you exactly what you want! That's Fare booking code = p
They don't make it easy do they??? Every airline is different, and airlines within the same alliance will be different... Each should have a "spend your avios/miles/points" section on their website which will give you the answer. Its usually done in zones or regions which makes it a bit easier... Good luck!
What I like about Matt's videos in the no nonsense clear and concise way he explains things
Hey - I like that too!!! But I'm a little biased... Thanks for the support!
Congratulations on the 1k subscribers
Thank you so much 😀. I'd like to thank my agent, my publicist, my personal stylist....

Cheers Joe - there are certain things only Expert Flyer will do... I sense my timing with this video is good as people look to get back out there...

Thanks for watching and thanks for the kind words. All we need is Biden to rescind the presidential order and we'll be off!
Also congrats. on your 1K subscription we'll done.

Thanks Peter. EF is worth a look - $9.99 a month is a commitment but the free trial gives you the idea...

@@MattsPlanet If you'd wrap the anecdotes in a "Transportation Abroad - 6 Tips To Consider", I'd certainly watch it!!
Do you think that using the farebucket -o -meter is useful to price a bid for VS bid for upgrades? Im hoping so!
If you know more than the average bidder then yes!

I see all the search has depart and return date. what if I want to search for one-way tickets?
There's 3 tabs at the top - return, one-way and multi-city. Pick the one you want.
@@MattsPlanet Hmm... I do not see the 3 tabs you mentioned in the "Flight availability screen"
@@ann4621 Its towards the top of the "Find Your Flight" landing page
I’ve watched a few videos and still don’t understand how you actually know how many award points are required for available award flights! 😳😐🙄
