Thank you so much for posting this video. My son crashed with his new KLX230R while we are on a family ATV/Dirtbike vacation in the Allegheney National forest, from the look of his dirtbike, I thought the forks were bent. I was already preparing him that he may not be able to continue to ride his dirtbike. We started looking at what it would cost to replace the front forks Then we saw your video, I did exactly what you suggested, and to the surprise of myelf and my son, this fix actually worked. I was able to straighten the front wheel alignment and the forks and wheels are ok. On behalf of my family and I thank very much for helping a fellow rider.
How to do it the easy way: Loosen the pinch bolts that hold the axle in place (not the actual axle) Loosen the lower triple clamp (not the top one!) Engage the front brake and compress the suspension a couple times to get the fork realigned. Tighten all Bolts down again - Done This can even be done on the trail with only few tools
This video is greatly appreciated. Fixing a Vulcan 750 that was laid down and thought all was lost when I saw the tire pointing to the side! Loosened four bolts and hit it against my garage and it’s straight again!
Just dropped my DRZ in some mud. Did this and it worked. Loosened the pinch bolts, loosened the bottom triple tree bolts, and then held the front tire between my legs while i tweaked them left and right.
I will try that thanks for this video it might help me I got a 2000 to 22 brio 50cc but my force exposed as much as this video so I had to take some things off to get to them but I understand what you're saying and I'm going to try that mine was brand new too car ran me off the road I hit a curb and then they seem bent but by watching this I'm going to try this first thank you
So after taking my front wheel off, realizing my front brake is closed and i cant open it, hammering the brake back open, putting the wheel back on, and then kicking it just to realize that's all I had to do this entire time to realign it. Thanks for making this video!
was the t-fork bend ? my bike also fell the same way you showed. handle bar was badly bend so i replaced them with a new one. but my suspension hardened. now am getting vibrations on the console and handle bar. a mechanic said my t-fork is twisted. so.. was the t-fork of your bike bend ?
Dont just take the fork bolts off-take em all off! Then loosen the drain plug & let out all that icky engine oil-but DO NOT put anymore back in, the bike will go WAY FASTER with out that goop in the motor 🤪
Awesome thank you. I just ate shit today and then I crashed my bike 😂 Not hard but enough to bend them. Ima try this before taking it to a shop. Thanks.
Before posting an instructional video, get your facts right first! You do NOT loosen the top triple tree bolts - if you loosen them along with the bottom ones as you described, the fork tubes will slide up and hit your handlebars on a bike like yours - there is nothing to hold the fork tubes in place at that point! Also, you do NOT (whack) a spoked wheel, unless you plan on readjusting the spokes to make the wheel run true again, this depends of course on how hard you (whack) it and it really doesn't take much to knock a wheel out! There are plenty of videos on here that show you the correct way to guide you through this process.
At least the wheel is cheaper to replace than a fork haha. Did you see how thick the spokes are on these 701's? Sorry, I am no expert but I did what works for me and my wheel was perfectly normal.

Do not loosen the top triple clamp bolts!
Thanks man. Imma go give it a shot. Cousin told me it might be bent but he didn’t know. Definitely trying this before buying
You just saved me a lot of money! Thanks!!!

Did you loosen them on both sides? And then tweak them?
Thank you for the video!

Trying that tonight. Thanks brother
Thanks for the video it helped alot
Great video. I have a question. If you loosened both tripletrees, how did the forks not slide up ( or basically the bike sliding down the forks)?
Did you loosen the top middle Bolt?
Thanks bro

Make sure you tell that mechanic to replace your muffler bearings when he fixes that T fork or you might have a nasty repair bill!
Mate, u save me for a fee hundred buck. Tks !! Now my fork are aligned with my handlebar.
Den C I’m glad I can help! It feels great knowing you don’t need to buy a pricey part to replace.
Thank you hope it works on my cbr 600rr
This might work, I’ll give it a try.. if not I just lost real bad on Craigslist😑 bought a ktm duke 390 and he said it wasn’t wrecked
It might work. The fork made a small dent in the frame for me as well but it straightened out perfectly fine.
Should I tighten the bolts after straightening it?
Dr.Sausage PHD no bro u need to take em off completely

Thanks Doc,but you were only partially right cuz riddles are abound tonight
I see a 701, i sub ,🤭

Could you link one of the videos to help?
What do you mean 'bent forks' do you mean the forks out of alignment with the handlebars? Bent forks does not make sense
It’s made to do that, so that you don’t bend your forks
How not to do it 101
Thanks dude
Whoever actually listen to this guy is crazy 😂 you don’t smack your front spoked wheel on something I mean come on that’s common sense 😂
