I woke up early in the morning to have Malaysian style breakfast.
I visited small food stalls nearby my house.
I tried all the best Malaysian street food which is Nasi Lemak, Bihun Goreng, some fries and dessert.
And I was so happy to see happy smiles from all the moms working early in the morning.
I feel always happy to meet the moms and having a little chat with them.
All the food I tried was so good. Especially, this was my first time to try Bihun Goreng.
I won't never forget the taste of Bihun Goreng.
Also, the coconut roll (I am still not sure what's inside) is similar to Korean style desert.
It was quite good. I feel so good to try Malaysian food mukang.
And, I was so surprised that all the foods are delicious and cheap.
I will try again for sure.

Saya bangun pagi untuk sarapan ala Malaysia.
Saya mengunjungi gerai makanan kecil berhampiran rumah saya.
Saya mencuba semua makanan jalanan terbaik Malaysia iaitu Nasi Lemak, Bihun Goreng, beberapa kentang goreng dan pencuci mulut.

Saya tidak akan melupakan rasa Bihun Goreng.
Juga, gulung kelapa (saya masih tidak pasti apa yang ada di dalamnya) mirip dengan gurun gaya Korea.
Ia cukup baik.
Saya sangat terkejut kerana semua makanannya sedap dan murah.
Saya pasti akan mencuba lagi.

As a singaporean i can only drool. Malaysia have many states n each states have many...many..many yummy food and desserts. Hope you get to travel to golok, kelantan and terengganu state. Most of the food there are heavenly yummy. Enjoy your stay there dongseng.

Here in Malaysia, we would eat anything for breakfast, as long they fill up out stomach until lunch. I grew up eating Nasi Goreng Putih or White Fried Rice, made from left over rice from the night before. That was what I ate mostly before going to school. My mom would scold me if I complained, sometimes she would say ''Some kids in Africa don't even eat breakfast, so be grateful!''
I think most Malaysians grew up like that. We were taught to appreaciate food, as long they are good, hygienic and not going to kill you.
I agree with you. I also really appreciate my parents for allowing me to eat and grow like this. That's why I like all the food. 👍

To order Coffee, you just need to mention as below.. No need to mention it as Malaysian Coffee:
Ice milk coffee = kopi ais
Ice plain coffee = kopi-o ais
Hot milk coffee = kopi panas
Hot plain coffee = kopi-o panas
If want to take away, just mention is as "bungkus" or "bungkus ikat tepi" of you want to drink while walking as such.. Hope this helps 😉

Seems like you are interested to the green one which called kuih ketayap. The filling is shredded coconut and brown sugar, the outside is wheat flour, eggs and pandan leaf extract. Pandan flavour is a bit like vanilla and that green looks good as in pure pandan colouring. More green means they add food colouring which is not my favourite. Malaysian typical ingredients for most type of dishes are coconut, pandan and brown sugar. Try onde-onde next time if you can find it, about the same ingredient with different style of preparation, in round shape covered with fresh white shredded coconut. The brown sugar inside will burst in your mouth, its heaven!

This roadside sellers still can speak English while I went to some places in other countries, those makcik (Aunties) can't speak English and just nodding their heads if we asked them😭

My mom used to wake up at 3 am to prepare for breakfast and go to work at 5 am. She used to work at rubber plantation with my late father. Now retired at 85 plus she still wakes up at 3am. Old habit.

We don't really call them mom. For the ladies, You can call them "makcik" or auntie if they are much older than you (Korean is adjumma). If the are slightly older than you, you call them "kak.". For guys, if their are much other than you , you call them pakcik or uncle (adjusshi), if they are slightly older than you, you can call them "bang" or "abang"
If they are younger, you call them "dik" or "adik" - suitable for both guys and girls...
FYI, in Terengganu, we call Mok (Mother) and Pok (Father) to elderly strangers as sign of respect.

In most malay countries like Malaysia and Brunei, Kicap= Soy sauce, its pronounciation is the same as ketchup, but ketchup in other countries is the bottled tomato sauce. We (malay countries) call bottled tomato sauce, simply as tomato

As a Malaysian I’m so happy to see you enjoying our breakfast! Do try some other local breakfast too 😍 what you’ve just eaten are all the Malay cuisine & “kuih-muih” and my favourites are the kuih ketayap (the green one you ate) and karipap with kentang and sardine! 😍
Do try out some other Malay, Chinese as well as Indian breakfast / cuisines. Here are some recommendations:
1. Roti canai / Roti telur bawang / Roti sardines etc.
2. Dim sum
3. Laksa
4 Mi Rebus
5. Chicken rice
6. Lontong

You want to buy that kind of coffee you go to coffee shops or drinks stalls or mamak restaurants. Tell them to 'Ikat tepi'
Ikat = Tie
Tepi = Side
Means you instruct them tie to the side of the drink packet
