I have MBP 13 Early 2015, 16gb ram and 512gb ssd running on Sierra 10.12.5 (Not High Sierra). Do you think fresh update (clean install) to Big Sur 11.6.6 is worth in term of battery usage and performance? Thank you very much for your kind reply.
Stevan Sunarno if you use that Mac for anything of importance like banking then you must upgrade to Big Sur or Monterey. Sierra is not supported and has many security holes and is not safe. Big Sur will be supported until fall of 2023 and Monterey fall of 2024. After that I would check out one of my buddies ‘Mr. Macintosh’ videos on OCLP to install Ventura or later to stay up to date. I cannot personally say whether Big Sur will be better for battery usage and performance, but I have a Mac with similar specs running Big Sur and it runs great.
@@AppleNinja Thank you very much for your kind reply and suggestion. I will use only for university student activities, such typing, presentation, reading, etc. Sometimes for photo editing. Then, in your opinion, is it more safe with just update to Catalina? Since I am worrying about its performance if I update to the newer version.

Yes you can as long as your Mac supports Monterey.
