Thank you for your engaging narration of this story Scott.
@thunderace4588 Thank you for that awesome compliment and thanks for listening!!
For the most part, I enjoyed this one. It was easy to follow unlike the previous story about time travel which had my brain spinning. There is one thing though that will continue to bother me though, Leinster's reference to the United Nations. It's predecessor "The League of Nations" was established in 1919. In the 30's when he wrote this the UN didn't exist yet, it came about in 1945. According to his dates in the story, he has it established in the 1980's. The imagination of many sci-fi authors continue to amaze me and blow my mind.
@RPRosen-ki2fk I agree. As I was narrating this story I kept thinking, there was no UN when he wrote this story! This happens a lot, predicting the future, in these old sci-fi stories. It's pretty cool when you think about it. Did Isaac Asimov's Someday predict what is happening right now with AI? I could go on and on. Thanks for your comments and thanks for listening!!
Quite a bit out though on predicting the transition to colour television!
@stevie-ray2020 I continue to be amazed at the many things stated as facts in these stories which were not facts at the time. Pretty cool stuff, thanks for listening and for your comment!!
Just the best
@user-ql7fj9vq3h I agree, Murray Leinster is awesome!! Tanks for listening!!
Another brilliant sci-fi short story from the Master of narration. Thanks again, Scott.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the compliment.
Dudley Doright vs Boris Badinov. Amazing for 1933
@robertbean8116 funny you should say that. I hadn't thought of it til I read your comment but you are absolutely right! Thanks for listening!!
This was quite a dark tale, coming from the 30s.
It certainly was. Thanks for listening Brad!!
🐙💨 WHOO--HOO!! 1st!
Yes you are! Thanks for listening!!
Ah, the many uses for a Y.
I'm afraid to ask, so I won't. Thanks for listening!!
@@VintageSciFiAudiobooks hes talking about the slingshot at the end of the story... typical one is shaped like a "Y"...🐙i don't think there's an emoji for slingshot.
