The step up in graphics and physics from fifa 07 on the ps2 to playing fifa 08 on the 360 was crazy back in the day. Love the darker lighting it had aswell

EA keeps trying to make the shooting more realistic but in reality they’re making it further from it. They forget screamers like Essien, Van Bronchorst, Ronaldo, happen in real life. In 22 you can barely shoot from outside the box. Fifa 12 had incredible long shots. 18 was really good as well. Shooting has sucked from 19-22. Would much rather it be more fun like the older fifa’s than unrealistically slow like it is now.
In fifa 22 you can easily score from outside the box bro just need to green time it

I remember that in 02 you could score a definite goal if you shoot from your half of the pitch because when the ball is there, the other goalie stands way in front, at the edge of their penalty box
I didn't have 02 but I had the World Cup game that year, and with the star players it was 2 steps from kick off and if Ronaldo had it, goal.

From Fifa 19 - 21 all Longshots on this Video were taken volley. Fifa 22 had a massive AI change. Look how noone of the defenders, even the one that is infront of him and does not have an opponent player to cover, cares about Haaland. From year to year the situations you need to score such a Longshot become more obvious, more boring and unfortunately more meta as well :-(

Fifa 14 was the pinnacle of the series IMO.
Easiest long shots within fifa 2003 😄. Grass and pitch looks so different in fifa 07. And I observe a revolution in graphics from 00 to 01. Amazing. Almost had every each of the games.
FIFA 00 was PS1 footage, FIFA 01 was PS2 footage
I also had almost every one of these games. Except for FIFA 94, 95, 96, 97, 99, 01, 21 and 22.
FIFA 07 and FIFA 08 probably my favorite games ever!
Fifa 13 long shots are GOATed the best thing about it was it wasn’t even realistic I was shooting 50 yard screamers for fun.
FIFA 09/10 long shots were insane, can remember scoring from pretty much anywhere in the half with Riquelme or Rooney! Those were the days.

PC version of FiFA 09, was probably the best PC FiFA game ever for the platform, not only did it had PC specific graphics settings that still look good to this day, but Mouse + Keyboard controls were implemented so good, that I preferred to play using M+K over using controller.
Team that worked on that one, should had been made its own studio, working on PC versions of EA Sports games.
Also those Live-Action cameras and replays were so much fun back in the day, every goal you scored really felt like a huge deal.
Memories of Fifa 94, was easier to score with a shot from the wing than through the middle.

earlier Fifa's had no ball drop, so you could shoot the ball from half court without it losing any speed. if you have played special bonus gamemode in Fifa 22 and get the Hard Ball or whatever it is that makes the ball velocity really high, its like that but all the time.

fifa 14 was so easy to score a long-shot goals. u just aim a far top corner while running facing a close corner, so the ball starts spinning and easily gets in.
Fifa 15 had the best absolute long shots ever. As long as u knew u had an angle , your player was good, and the weight behind the player matched the angle of the goal u could curve that bad boy in
