I’d remain a little cautious as the the current Amp ratings for the US version is extremely low. Like 2 amps! However the relays are rated at 10 so there must be other reasons like trace route issues for the lowball rate. I’m Not sure about the EU version as Mark didn’t seem to mention it in his review. But it’s something that should be noted for those planning on utilizing the (non UL listed) switch’s on a 15 amp breaker. $70 is an expensive fuse.
@@ChrisS-oo6fl Ultimately the fuses / breakers are there to protect the cabling in the walls not the devices that are connected to them, however 2amps @ 240v (UK) is still almost 500w which is a hell of a lighting load given that regular tungsten incandescent bulbs were outlawed years ago in the EU (you can still get Halogen bulbs though) and ultimately the world has also been forced over to LED (whether you like it or not) which makes it harder still to hit 2amps on a single load. Also in the UK lighting circuits are fused at 6amps (no idea what the rules are in the EU / US) so a 2amp max for a single lighting feed is fine - and you never know, they may even have fitted fuses in the high current side. :-)
I love this device, its the one thing i've bought that saved me $70 because even after properly wiring this up it just sits there as active as a box of rocks. I know i could use a smart phone but i was just in the mood to trick out my apartment since home ownership in 2023 and beyond is a mere a pipe dream, meaning if you think you can afford to buy a home as a single middle class wage earner you are sadly mistaken 😢 either that or you own a Crack pipe.
It's a decent product with an unclear application / target market. It is marketed as a scene controller, yet it has 2x relays. Presumably with lighting scenes you have multiple light circuits, usually with dimmers etc. and you want to control them from a panel. So you can select scenes from the touchscreen, but you can turn only 2x individual lights on and off from the physical buttons? Poorly thought out. Either make a scene controller, in which case power over ethernet is sufficient, ditch the relays, and allow the physical buttons to somehow enhance the scene selection, or make a dual relay light switch in which case the screen is not hugely necessary. The screen relies on Ewelink service which is cloud based, so you may as well just control this from your phone.
Im betting as soon as its in more hands it will be Tasmota-ified 😁. I think the guys over at espthings have already got it in ESPHome and are working on getting the screen to work now.
Nice vid! Wouldn't want it on my wall though.. At least... Not yet. And what you said about the LUX sensor. I think it should be the other way around. When it's dark you don't want to be blinded by the screen and when it's light, the screen should be brighter to be visible due to reflections. I'll keep an eye on this thing but also will be looking for a nice (affordable) replacement for my Toon thermostat.
What you said about the lux sensor is right 🤣👌🏻. I actually meant that but said it the wrong way round. I think it will be an interesting one to watch, and to see what the community do with it :)
The WT32-SC01 with openHasp is also a good panel for HomeAssistant . Now let’s see if the OpenHasp firmware is working with this hardware. What I like with the sonnoff is the case and the power built in
On the NSpanel the ESP32 talks to the Nextion Discovery display using serial communications. There is another chip with proprietary Nextion firmware on the ribbon cable that does the actual drawing. openHASP needs direct access from the ESP32 to the display and it seems this hardware design will not support that...
Ma su homeassistant si può integrare il termostato del NSPanel oltre che i 2 canali, e con quale integrazione? Sicuramente quella nativa di sonoff. Grazie per i tuoi tutorial.
@@MarkWattTechcan you use the physi cal buttons to controll scenes without connecting any lights to it. I have a wifi smart light that needs power all the time but would want to keep a physical button. And the screen looks nice to control everything else aswell.
@@hidde8232you can indeed. With the terminal not connected, the physical buttons are still shown in Home Assistant (via the sonoff lan integration, esphome etc etc). You can press and use the buttons as triggers for scenes, scripts and automations as you would expect :)

Great idea, but I'd rather have the full lovelace dashboard. Another thing, a while ago you showed us how to integrate the Eufy 2K doorbell into HA. Is there a way to get live footage on the HA dashboard?
@@soumynonareverse7807 someone in the community is working on it. I recently did a video on 3 ways to add eufy (2 focus on the doorbell). The methods show possible options, one has a stream but its a little hit and miss. There’s currently not a simple way to get a direct live stream though.

You have access to 2 relays and can link the buttons to any smart home scene, device or automation. And also can have 8 different widgets controllable by touch on screen.
@@MarkWattTech the reason I'm talking about the display its because it's expensive and the support is terrible, the guy who created nextion (tjc is the original Chinese manufacturer) is a really bad character and attacks everyone. Plus you can get way better displays for a project like this.
Because many households have more than one person living there. And sometimes other members of that household might not be particularly tech savvy so a simple to use always available touchpad is ideal.
@chris and @matt what I meant is 1. Touch to activate 2. Swipe to reach the correct button 3. Press the button Why is this better than for example tuya scene switches which are upfront and clickable and have a haptic click?
Wow, this thing is pretty shit! Check the lag and the bullshit Alexa naming, FFS NSPanel light, I really hope you aren't stuck with the NSPanel suffix !!!
The NSPanel Pro has been released. Check out my first impressions here:

I've been waiting for this. Have made my pledge for a duo pack. I hope this will turn into a great project to tinker with.
I think in time this is gonna become something great!
Same here - have backed for a two-set...

Plenty more to come!

It sounds like a Sonoff version of the HA Switchplate, but with a few updates like bigger display and ESP32.
Great review. I’ve watched several reviews of this Pannel. But yours was the best of them all. Keep up the great work.
Really appreciate that. Thanks Nitin 🙏😊
Finally a competition to the Brilliant display. Hopefully, cheaper cuz it is madness to spend 400 bucks on one single switch.
Great video as always Mr Wark!
Forever kind words Mr Binker! ❤️
Control Hue groups of lights (eg: the bulb in the lounge)? With an easy to access dimmer control?
Needs to be in white too.

It's a great price on Kickstarter at the moment. Be interesting to see what the community do with it :)
Hello, so if I want to connect a click on click off heater with an lsc contact do I have to have a bridge? But does this function as a thermostat?
Hi Mark, where does the weather data come from? , your own weather station or online API based data?
@11:52 I assume you mean the display be BRIGHTER if the room gets lighter, and the display get DIMMER if the room gets darker?
Yeah I said it the wrong way round :P I think people got the idea though :D
Can you share the thermostat

Bang goes the Australian version, I guess we don't exist ha
What options you have if your room has a ceiling fan/light combo....can those be hooked up to the physical switches?
there's two relays if they are on separate switches. Or you could link them to a smart relay and use the NSPanel to toggle that on and off.

Yes 👍🏻. It has LAN control
