Did she think that having a child in a closet like that can affect the child's oxygen? Mental health over time? Emotional distress? What if the closet it shut? What if the kid is hurt or something is wrong? Just because she's been running a daycare for years, doesn't mean she should.
I'm not exaggerating when I say probably 3/4 of my family and friends have put their kids to sleep in closets. It's a safe, dark, and quiet place. This is totally a common thing. Just because YOU don't do it doesn't mean it's not happening or that it's wrong.
I do think they should have shown her that room in a tour of the facility, however I don't see the issue with the child sleeping there. I've done the same thing in my apartments. Sometimes you outgrow your rooms and need extra spaces and the pac n play is a perfect fit for your closet!

These Utah daycare are in for the money. We put our daughter in one and she was left in a closet where she had peed all over her clothes.
