Truly a work of a genius! So absolutely individual and personal in all aspects of composition. Absolutely adorable both the work and the incredible rendition of Rostropovich and the composer himself.
Adorable? I love many of Britten's best works, but this piece is one of his nastiest and difficult to listen to in my opinion. But adorable is not an adjective I'd use to describe it.
