RULES:
The object of the game is to uncover the map without clicking on any mines. Open a new game then left click randomly until you uncover some space and information to work with. If you click on a mine, you lose the game. Click on the smiley face to start a new game. A numbered square indicates how many mines are adjacent to that square either above, below, right, left or diagonally. Spaces not adjacent to any mines are blank, showing no number. The lowest number is 1 and the highest is 8. Using reason and deduction, use the known information from the revealed numbers to figure out where the mines are located. Right click to flag a spot you know where a mine is. Right click on a flagged to clear the mark. You will be unable to accidentally left click a marked square. If you perform a right and left click simultaneously on a number that has the corresponding number of flags adjacent to it, it will open all the squares surrounding that number that don’t have flags. You can also left click on the number to accomplish this. Once all the mines have been properly marked and the rest of the board cleared, you win.
I always just clicked on everything not knowing what to do. I had a friend in high school who played this like a pro. She was great at it.
Same here bro

But without a friend 🙄
😂😂
Cool!
Yep, same with me

POV: You just randomly clicked on squares, making up your own strategy for a game you don't know how to play.
Hahaha
That's literally the civilization franchise
OMG! I never knew how to play this game back in school. I always used to just click and pray. 🤣 So glad that I chose to Google how to play it and found your video. Subscribing now!
SAME!!!!
so like you lay it as if it was an rng game?
Are you saying that after this video, you actually knew how to play? Because it only made me more confused. 🥲
@@yailynbloise8518 this tbh

When I was younger I didn't know there were any rules I thought you just clicked and whether or not you died was random
Needless to say, I never won.

I remember playing this on my grandmas computer. Didn’t know what I was doing until my cousin showed me what to do. Good childhood memorie
Wow after 10+ years i know how to play minesweeper!
Thanks for teaching me how to play. It’s very fun and exciting because you can’t make 1 mistake.
clear & concise, explains (almost) everything you need, doesn't waste time
no nf tho, or 3bv, or 3bv/s
9/10 overall
Instructions unclear, my yard became a minefield.
I feel so proud knowing I know how one game works than most people here

Thank you so much, my whole life i kept comming across this game, and when i was a kid i tryed it many times but never understood it, amd it drove me crazy, because even though i didnt speak english, i would plqy many other games without understanding the directions, just by trial and error, but this one i just could never figure out, i just now came actoss an ad about it and i remembered, and here i am trying to finally finally figure it out, even though i probablly will not play it, but i can rest in peace now 😂😂😂😂 thanks for taking the time to explain it!
I was today years old when i finally learned how to play this😂😂😂😂, thank you!!
I learned how to play this myself in high school because I got bored in English class. Great way to pass time whilst engaging your brain!
Well, now we know why you use words like “whilst.”
@@MatthewKeys cuz I’m an English fiend 💀
I knew it meant the squares nearby but I did not realize they counted the diagonal!! this helped a lot!!
bruh I got so hyped up when winning my first game of minesweeper on easy mode lol
+600 thousand people, who don't know how to play minesweeper, say ty/thank you to this guy (please)
Thank you, man! Just found out how to pkay this game after 18 years
Ok
I never understood this game until now. I thought the numbers were the "possibilities" of running into a mine on the left right top or bottom of it
I think Windows 3.1 was the first time I've seen Minesweeper in any version. Although, Windows 3.0 might have had a Minesweeper game as part of a small games package. That was the custom install, although you would get everything if you did a full install.
I didn't even know you can flag the squares 😂
You are not alone.😂
Me either haha
I just figured out how to play this game this morning all by myself 😂
You forgot about the question marks! I used to play minesweeper all the time when I was younger and had a computer.
How do you put a question mark on there? I also used to play this a lot, but didn't know what I was supposed to do to win.
Thank you so much bro I finally know how to play this game
Glad I could help
@@TripleSGames I still don't understand. Can you make a second video where you explain it again but in a much, much simpler way?
lets all be honest here all of us just clicked and hoped
I didn't understand that the numbers marked mines that were also adjacent diagonally to them.
Thanks for the clarification.
I had no idea you could click on numbers next to flagged mines to open the rest of their neighboring tiles. Good to know!
I remember having this explained to me and i still couldnt get my head around it im not sure what they must have told me that was so confusing because this made sense ahahha
I'm stupid af I still don't understand it lmao
OMG TYSM I USED TO JUST CLICK RANDOMLY BUT AFTER YOUR VID I MADE THE FARTHEST I HAVE EVER DONE!!
I just won in this. thanks for the rules explaination 🥰
You need more subs
I agree! Like and share :) it’ll help
No matter how many tutorials I watch, I don’t learn. Help.
A number tells you how many mines that surround that number;
for example, if you get the number 1, then there will be one mine somewhere around that number, and if you get the number 8, then that number will be completely surrounded by mines.
You can use this information to figure out which squares that you can click on.
Say for example that you have the number 1 on a square, and that square is surrounded by one unopened square, as well as seven empty squares;
since you have the number 1 on the square, you know that there must be a mine somewhere around that square, and since seven of those squares are already revealed to be empty (in other words, they have neither numbers nor mines), then there must be a mine in the square that you haven't opened yet, so you need to avoid that square.
You can identify the mines that you know contain mines by right-clicking on them;
this will place flags on those squares, so that you know that you need to avoid them.
Note that you might sometimes need to guess which squares that you can open, although you should be able to identify the squares that contain mines most of the time.
@@Peter_1986 bruh 😂😂
@@Peter_1986 I still don't understand.
Bro thanks, now i understand.
And now, they had created so much new number (a.k.a bosses) such as:9,10,28,2*4,m=gb2,etc…
Thx bro really helped
I forgot the game, thank you for reminding
Repetition helps too :) thx
I don’t know why I never figured out how to play minesweeper but now I want to play 😂
I always wondered how to play this game. It was the only game on our school computers, and it never had any instructions, lol
A little fun fact: It actually came with instruction. Minesweeper has a small tab that says help (I think. It could be about. Idk), that tell you how to play.
I know this because I remember reading instruction on it.
Help, I found a 9 in my Minesweeper. What do I do?
how is it possible that i lose the game because there is a 1 and there is two bombs adjacent to it
impossible, unless it's a bug\glitch.
I've been reading and watching tutorials. Like I still don't get how you know where the mine is🚮
Its been so long I haven’t played this.
Came here because of Dota 2 and I still don't get it 💀
Thanks for the video
I'm utterly addicted to Minesweeper. 💣
Why do the mines sometimes explode if i touch a number?
Do you wacht untill the end
if you flag a mine incorrectly, and you touch on a number, that is supposed to free all the squares that are not flagged, if the adjacent flags are the same amount as the number you click on, and you flagged the mines incorrectly (i.e. you flagged a square that doesnt have a mine), then it will free squares that have a mine instead, making you lose the game. to avoid this, pay more atention when you flag mines, or don't chord (aka click on a number) if you're not sure.
Wait so do all diagonal mines count as "one" mine?
I still don’t get the logic do you eventually have to guess cause when I see a 3 and it’s surrounded by 4 boxes I have a 1 in 4 shot at being wrong
As a minesweeper pro player, I think this should be corrected
0:08 “left click randomly”
No, left click at corners. They have the highest chance of being blank and open up big space
That would fall into strategy, not a rule. But good to know
as triples games said, that strategy is optional, however, i feel like they should have mentioned that sometimes there are patterns that are harder than just checking a number, and sometimes you are forced to guess
Button who still don't understand 😂 👇
you didn't even get the like begging correct 💀💀💀
Huh?
😭
How
I still dont get it
3 seconds is my best at smallest field... Those were the days...
its simple, just click randomly and hope not clicking on a mine
He explain so well
These all windows 7 games are freaking gem.
I still dont get it,how do u know if the numbers have mines next to them, theres so many
If there is a number, there is a mine. The question is where is the mine.
If the number is 1 and there is only 1 space left around it, that is a guarantee mine.
I guess I was the few ones that actually read the F1 help included with the game
I didn't know there was one haha 😂
Hello!

Instructions unclear the game is playing me
26 yrs later I finally what is this game 😂 LoL
Bro definitely made this video just an excuse to flex his Minesweeper skills 😂
I am 27 year old and Today is my First day to know how Actually you can play it apart from Randomly clicking on every Box Based on luck 😂😂
31 here 😂✋
I don't get it. *Makes tuskin raider sounds*
i know the game well, and ya that is the very basics of the game, but there is so many tricks to finding bombs that can be taught to make the game easier and i'm just not seeing them yet lmao
Good luck mate.
It takes practice, tho you can look up minesweeper pattern. There is patterns you can memorize to make it easier.
IT DOESNT LET ME PLAY
I am still as confused as I was before clicking the video .
The numbers tell you how many mines that surround those numbers;
for example, the number "1" means that there is exactly one mine somewhere around that number (above, below, left, right, upper-left, upper-right, lower-left, or lower-right), and so on.
This means that if you get the number "8" (very rare), then that tile is completely surrounded by mines.
You can also see opened grey tiles in a lot of places in this video, and those tiles have no mines at all around them, so they technically represent the number "0".
Another example would be if you have the number "2", and you already have two mines around that number;
this means that all other tiles are safe to open, since you already have the two mines revealed.
@@Peter_1986 this still makes 0 sense like what if there’s 4 boxes and a number two how am i meant to know which boxes in the radius of 2 have 2 mines in
@@aimdox Sometimes you will not have enough information for one particular square, and in those situations you will have to look around on other parts of the field, and try to deduce which squares that should have mines in them.
You might sometimes have to use slightly more complex tricks, such as for example asking yourself what would happen IF a square had a mine in it;
this could sometimes give you situations where you notice that a square that can only have one mine around it is forced by your assumption to have two mines around it, and this then means that your assumption was incorrect, and similar types of situations like that.
This is similar to "proof by contradiction" in math.
Note that it is _only_ the squares _closest_ to a number that are relevant for that number, in other words that squares immediately to the left, right, above, below and to the closest diagonals, which "touch" the number, so to speak.
Come on. The rules are pretty easy.
I didnt know about the right + left click trick (i play on mobile tho..)
I'm 36 years old and i just learned the simultaneously click thing
it's called "chord", in case you want to know.
This is the only real "cool math game."
How about sudoku
I remember just randomly clicking 😂 never knew how to play
Like if you came here becuz of Dota2 Crownfall Act IV
thanks
Technically it doesnt show the numbers meaning ;-;
I can't understand that much. Give easier meaning please..
Whoes here because of the Dota2 mini game......
I remember playing this in highschool I basically had yo explain it ti everyone else one guy thought it was math another thought it was gibberish
Any dota players?
I’m still confused I might stupid
The numbers tell you how many mines that are around those numbers;
the number "8" would be completely surrounded by mines, the number "1" would have exactly one mine somewhere around it, and so on.
The trick is to find as much information as possible about each closed tile, so that you can determine which tiles that must contain mines.
ACT 4
I used to just click and hoped I didn’t lose. Even though I didn’t know what I was hoping for
Me playing minesweeper on google not knowing what to do: how??
sometimes I hate this game, Sure you need some smart thinking on where the mines are but I hate the fact it is and RNG game, especially when theres a 2x2 at a corner and 2 mines left, that pisses me off always,
you just told me to figure it out
a better way to explain the blank tile is to say that its a 0
Just watched this tutorial and still failed miserably on the second click
Lol. Just make sure to check the square properly.
I just clicked and hoped that i didnt click a mine
Interesting I never knew there wad an actual strategy I just clicked randomly and always died
I once got 30 seconds
