23:15 - "Wait, what am I doing here?" Using your shield - the move used almost exclusively in the entire level, and also in the level name. 😛
24:32 - "What is that telling me to do there?" The down arrow... means press down... to shield, yet again. (Unless you're talking about the horizontal segment leading up to it, where you're apparently supposed to take out Bowser Jr. quickly - in which case, yeah, it's fair to not understand that right away.)

Donkeymint is peak level creation. Jis cape level was a struggle but i loved learning new tech.
“Ridi, Pagliacco” is from to a famous opera play called “Pagliacci”, which I only know about through Spike Jones.

I love DGR’s inability to recognize repeat indicators. Plays a whole level where a down arrow indicates use the shield. Down arrow at the end, “What am I supposed to do?” Never change, DGR ❤.
donkeymint is such an amazing level creator. Nintendo hire this guy haha
At least contract them for some levels. I think if SMM1 and 2 have shown anything it's that good level design can come from the general SMM community. Some people just have that natural talent for it.
Dave will sight read a super fast section where i'm not even playing and I would have done the wrong thing...then he can bounce right next to a note block 20 times and be confused how to progress....jump on the bright white bouncy thing clearly visible lol

I think some of the Piranha Plants in "Ptotally Awesome" are meant to represent Ptooies, a variety of Piranha Plant that spit and keep an object, usually a spiky ball of some sort, suspended above their head.
Those levels are insanely good!
Those were some very creative levels. They look difficult, unique, and fun all at the same time. 👍

1) 'I understand this one specific part midway through the level.' (Second checkpoint not even reached yet.)

3) 'Ergo, I'll finish the *rest of the level* on my next try.'
It's the second step, bridging the gap between one and three, that I'm not super clear on. 😂

I was like, “This looks interesting”. And then I opened it and IT WAS THE ONE STREAM THAT I WAS APART OF AND WATCHED!!!!! It is always so cool to be like, “I was there!”

I've been watching Mario Maker for years but somehow don't recall Donkeymint as a level creator. But, *WOW!* I love the creativity and smoothness of the levels he's built. They are right on the cusp of difficulty such that they aren't just grind monsters but are the Goldilocks level of difficulty. Levels like this are what makes Mario Maker stand out as a truly magical game for me, and the chain chomp stage is one of the very best levels in my memory. As the DGR saying goes, *"This creator just gets level design."*
Uh, DGR has played many donkeymint levels in the past. They aren't troll levels though, so if you only come for TROLLED, you would understandibly msis them

All of these levels are the reason I love Mario Maker. Why can't more players fill up endless mode with creative courses like these?
These are the most incredibly good levels I’ve seen in a long while. Not that I could beat any of them but great to watch!!

I don't know if you picked up on it but I think ptotally awesome was referring to "ptuies" - the piranha plants that blow meatballs into the air.
Pagliaccio is probably best approximated as pahYAHchoh. GLI represents a sound halfway between Y and (clear) L, basically a version of Y where the air flows on the sides of the mouth as in L. I remember a friend of mine pronouncing it as Y, and he was Italian. A primary schoolboy, yes, but a native speaker of Italian anyway. And besides, this sound has a nasty tendency to centralize into Y (French ll and Spanish ll, and perhaps Hungarian ly, can bear witness), so maybe sometime it will do so in Italian as well.
Oh, and "Ridi, pagliaccio" means "Laugh, you clown", and is the title of an aria from Idk what opera.
