- VICTORY OVER LONELINESS
Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to
them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” He took Peter and the two sons of
Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. Then he said
to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here
and keep watch with me.”Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground
and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not
as I will, but as you will.”Then he returned to his disciples and found them
sleeping. “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter.
“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but
the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:36-40
How To Prepare For Victory Over Loneliness
1. Celebrate your IDENTITY IN CHRIST.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the
gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in
Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:8-10
2. Embrace God’s AUTHENTIC COMMUNITY.
For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:20
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving
up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another-and all
the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:24-25
3. Commit to SERVING OTHERS.
For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom
for many. Mark 10:45
For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for
the flesh, but through love serve one another. Galatians 5:13
4. Secure your ETERNAL FUTURE .
Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so
that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 1 Thessalonians 4:13
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him
shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
