In all honesty, I think Robbie is thinking about the ozil that first signed and went on some crazy assist streak a couple of seasons back. That ozil is done and will never come back.
Not sure why people are so quick to forget the absolute disgrace of a performance from ozil in Baku back in May. That was the game that changed my opinion on ozil in all honesty.

I'm so tired of this Ozil nonsense! Every time Emery has given him a chance he has either underperformed or been the worst player on the pitch. When was the last time Ozil changes a game or gave us made his presence felt throughout? Ozil doesn't play for the team or help dig team out of tough situations, but now that he's not playing we're acting like he would make all the difference? Like all we need is Ozil? You're so quick to forget how poor and weak in character he can be, how his horrible performances and tantrums dampen the teams Spirit. i will just ask you this. Do you think Xhaka brings more to the team than Ozil does? Because you could easily play Torreira, Ceballos/Willock and Ozil and that would be a much more fluid midfield with more defensive stability and also more creativity. Xhaka brings nothing to this team both defensively and offensively.

After that spurs match, he basically done nothing wrong including good performance in Europa League at Frankfurt. That's why Mustafi as an error prone too get his place and guess what? 3 of our clean sheet before this game starts with Mustafi in line up. Meanwhile Ozil, is a classic no 10. He doesn't work as hard as other playmaker in big team right now. He wasn't the man he once was back in 2013-2016. Even I can see that, so I know Emery have seen that too and judging by that, other players deserve more than him even in the bench.

I understand Emery's stance on Ozil, probably he is not good enough to play for Arsenal, but then I see a guy named Xhaka playing in the middle with the captain's armband everyweek, what's his stance on him. Arsenal fans are a laughing stock for a reason. We should be celebrating 1-0 victory, but that should be against big teams away from home after playing well in the other matches, not at home against Bournemouth.

Let me tell you what Ozil brings to the game. When you say creativity, on many levels it’s not just about making goalscoring chances. It’s also about alleviating pressure, passing into space in the final third gives the team room to breathe, passing to a dummy teammate and then being available again to regain possession and control keeps the ball in the middle or final third and the team can breathe. And not to mention with Bournemouth’s pressing, Ozil is the only player who u can call upon to one-touch a press-breaking pass. Emery is cutting off our nose to spite our face with his treatment of Ozil.
