    As far as your feed barriers go it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks as long as they work for you and that’s all that matters!

    hi Ian ,I would put straps over the rubber mats because the wind will lift them off the truck and might hit something

    Excellent update - the barn extension as you described it originally sounded great to me!

    Hi Ian, Hope you and the family had a great Christmas day, I had a couple stop by for a roast lamb dinner that started at 4pm and went on and on into the night.
    You spoke about the barn extension the other day, regarding it's use. I think the straw and firewood store sounds the best. Then use the space in the Tree gangs shed for machinery, you have a work bench in there for repairs, maintenance and greasing, fuel and oil for the tractors etc. Install some extra lights in the work area, maybe move the tea hut outside in the corner beside the door for more room, put in some racking for lighter equipment to increase storage. Sort out your containers in the yard and get rid of the rubbishy one's, using the good ones to store good gear. Even your dad's containers could be reset with an opening between them, a roof fitted over the gap to park a trailer or two out of the weather.
    A trick we used on construction sites, the containers used as workshops, etc. and the covered space as a repair bay.

    Hi Ian,😊 merry Christmas, I have mentioned this before , but
    have you considered using that ibc tank as a header for your pressure washer, I am almost certain if you almost fill it then have your hose running into it while you are using the pressure washer and drawing water from the tank it will have enough capacity for you to be able to wash any of your kit. . 🤔

      I would have to get the rest of the resin out first Peter, That stuff would clog the pump.

    Well I wouldn't have had danger of drilling a hole into yourself for the Tree company risk assessment, bearing in mind, chain saws, axes, trees doing interesting things when they are cut up or down, working at height, ropes etc, but guess it now needs to go on the form.

  • @gregphillips24
    @gregphillips24 18 дней назад

    Serious question,why do you need 3 mats each side.

    • @FarmerP
      @FarmerP  18 дней назад +1

      The mats are for the wheels Greg, not the out riggers, they are to help us over soft ground. We will only carry half a dozen on the Picker, any more and it would be overweight. They will also be used across lawns to prevent dragging and foot damage in wet weather, or for getting the transit or chipper across soft ground.

    Surly it's easier to just buy off road tyres time spend your workers fitting matts to the truck a d money spend on matts messing about with matts on job's?

    • @FarmerP
      @FarmerP  18 дней назад +2

      Off road tyres on a Cabstar? The mats are a far better option for this application Mark.

  • @TheSparkysdog
    @TheSparkysdog 18 дней назад

    But don't forget, the planning application would be £1400 minus 20%, the government will chip in aa they seem intent on fleecing all farmers of 20% of their farm. It's only fair they pay their share 😜
