deafdragon88 most people thought Clowney was going to be fantastic. He is a great run defender but I swear only plays good in the first week of the season and prime time games. Disappears in other games
Was just thinking the same thing.. I just don't understand how he was such a disaster. I wouldn't mind them re-signing him another 1 year. It's wild how bad this pairing panned out..
At the 5:00 mark he puts his finger on the problem, and the video assumes Pryor is the answer, but it’s actually more of a Kirk Cousins problem. Similar to Dak and Dez. Theses qb’s need space to throw, and these wr’s thrive on shoulder throws, 50/50 ballers #openwindows
Have you thought about doing a Kirk Cousins video? I'd like to see what you believe he's good at, and where he struggles, or why Washington is reluctant to give him a LTD. I noticed you haven't done too many QB videos since Hack and Osweiler, maybe Cousins could be your next guy.
hes said after his brock osweiler vid that he avoids qb's because its just so much work. that's why we will probably never see a Deshaun Watson vid :C:C:C
Hey Brett - Big fan here. One suggestion: Every video feels like a hype video, so it can feel a bit repetitive in that way. I would love to see a mix of hype videos and videos that feature a player that everybody thinks is great but really may not be all that. Or maybe a player who had a really big year last year, but you expect to have a big drop off next year. Just something to mix it up a bit.
The reason it feels like that is because he has broken down players that have had success. Since these guys have big plays against the best of the best as a football fan it's hard not to get excited.
I saw a lot of him at Ohio State. It took him several steps to get to full speed -- not like Braxton Miller who could accelerate from the get go. Then Pryor would glide with those long legs to get a good 40 time. His catch against Apple shows what I mean. He couldn't burst that first step after making the catch to separate. Guys like Josh Gordon do it easily.
I don't recall Pryor making runs longer than 35-40 yards at tOSU. Most of his acclaimed runs were 15 yards to the sideline on 3rd and 10. There are good 40 times because the guy bursts and there are good 40 times because the guy has good top end speed. Braxton Miller had burst. Ted Ginn, Jr had both. Pryor lacks great burst. I think Miller, Ginn, Samuel, Zeke would've bested him the first 20 yards, then Ginn would've outrun him the next 400 yards. Put high hurdles out there and then state record holder Ginn would've him.
Mooncut he probably had maybe 2-4 runs of 35-40+ yards back in college. Not saying Pryor is faster than those guys, they are much smaller than him so they can move a lot easier but TP was freakishly fast for his height & weight.
Not Josh, he's pretty slow because he's always sitting on the couch, suspended on game day. He's a waste of time , money and roster space. The Browns should have kept Pryor and sent Gordon to the 'skins.
I'm an OSU fan, I couldn't imagine him playing QB in the pros. He was an awful QB but his speed and size made receiver a more logical fit for him. I remember discussing it with my buddies when he was drafted that he would never make it as a QB, ran too much. When the Raiders coach suggested he be a receiver, it made a lot of sense to me. Of all of the OSU QB's in the most recent years, the only one I could see becoming successful is Cardale Jones, but he needs some more experience to get consistent. If he played like he did versus Bama and Oregon, he would be a nasty force on any pro team.
Yeah, I've always though that Pryor needed to be a receiver from the start. Run-first QB's don't live long in the NFL. Terrelle was always a run-first guy. I can't believe the Browns let him get away after they took the time to groom him. I'm really pissed about that. If he stays healthy, I think he is going to be a force this year and I think that Cousins will be happy with the addition.
Same. He was my favorite college football player at the time (OSU fan) and I've been rooting for him ever since. So happy that he finally found his niche.
Dude this is a great video! I Really like how you break it down and your football IQ is Right on Point! Terrell Pryor is going to be a Great Value piece for the Washington Redskins franchise This Upcoming Season! Keep up the great work in showing the skill set of these Professional players and God Bless! #HTTR
When the playoffs start, you should do team breakdowns. Comparing two teams, their strengths, weaknesses, and things to look for during the game. I know it would be extremely time consuming and difficult but it would be awesome to watch games and be able to predict things and see what's going on through the lens of a football mind like yours!
Also you should post these to the NFL subreddit and the team subreddits that the guys that you breakdown play for. I think there's a lot of people there that would appreciate this good content.
Wow. Awesome, awesome video. The inside leverage bit was particularly interesting! On one other note, I saw somebody make a a comment about how it wasn't cool that Pryor left the Browns after saying he wanted to stay...well let's take a trip through reality shall we? Here are the facts. The Browns offered Pryor $8M per year, which sounds like more than he got...but it's not. At all. The Browns wanted to lock down Pryor at that price for 4 years (while he's still cheap), while Washington was willing to give him a one year deal. Lots of people have been saying that he might be just a one year wonder--and that bullsh*t is why his value could arguably have been that low. However, if Pryor replicates his success from last year, or improves (which I would find very likely--for, if no other reason, I would be better in the 2nd year doing anything than the first) then that argument goes away entirely. Suddenly he is a bonafide WR1 who will get paid top 10 money. That will look something like $12M a year over 4 years I would guess. So the difference between what the Browns offer and the deal he is very likely to get next year would be about $16M over 4 years in the most important years of a player's career. Can anyone here honestly say that team loyalty would be more important to you than $16M...team loyalty to a team and coach that (as mentioned in the video) cut/waived him 3 different times... C'mon man.
great vid! pryor is quietly dominating camp, beating all the db's by a mile. i can see gruden salivating. nice work, breaking down pryor's skillset and potantial. httr!
Great videos bro. My dad played in the league for a while and I want to get into NFL scouting in the future. I learn a lot from watching your videos and seeing a different perspective.
TP was one of my favorite College players of all time, living in California I went to a Raider game every year and was at awe in how much of an athlete he was. Now he's on my favorite team in which he's going to show the league that's he's in deed the TRUTH #HTTR
I have been looking for someone to put together videos like you do for a long time. I am beyond impressed! Thank you for your hard work! Now get me some Titans videos up! Lol Keep it up man.
New to the channel here, stumbled across this video. As a Redskins fan, watching this video boosted my excitement level of Prior from 100% to a million. Thanks for the next-level breakdown!
No joke I hope Terrelle Pryor goes all pro years and years in a row, retires, and writes a book. His story is insanely fascinating and would make for a hellova read
I've been a fan of his ever since he was a Raider. I love that he finally found his mark on offense and I can't wait to see what this season holds for him now that hes off of the Browns lol
man really well done video as always! found your channel a while back ago, but just recent subscribed. as a Raiders fan we saw glimpse of Pryors athletic abilities. there was a play versus the steelers where he fakes a hand off and runs 80+ yrds for a TD. he wasn't a great QB, but he was descent. unfortunately he didn't have a good team around him and that cost him a lot of opportunities, it made him look bad. he was also repeatedly asked if he would consider playing another position besides QB, his answer was always no. I always wished him well though because he was the last of Al Davis picks. anyways cant wait too see what you have planned next week! cheers!
Drake's song says it ALL Started from the Bottom Now we're here! That is exactly where Terrelle Pryor was being a 3rd Round Supplemental Draft pick from the Ohio State trying to establish himself as a Quarterback with The Oakland Raiders with that unforgettable 96-yd Run for a Touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers and then having to transmute to Wide Receiver being 6'4 215 or more lbs.
Love your videos. This one inspired me to buy into Pryor in all my leagues. What do you make of his performance so far and of the Redskins offense in general. Sure, he has had some bad drops, but are his targets the result of game script? I'm curious what you think of his first two games.
It's pretty shitty that he left Cleveland after preaching about how dedicated he was to the turnaround. Plus he's a local. Plus they were gonna pay him $8 million a year. And yeah, I get it. Everyone wants to leave the Browns because Browns. Stale meme.
Yeah, the Browns offered him a 4 year 32 million dollar deal. I have no idea why the fuck Brett is talking about chasing money with the Skins when the Browns offered him more money. Talking about he doesn't blame Pryor for taking the money over being loyal? Like wtf you talking about? He had a chance for more money and a longer contract. The skill breakdown was on point but he fucked it up on the money angle.
He wants paid as a top 10 WR. Dude wants 10 mil/year, not 6 with incentives. He is doing the smart move. He has a good QB in Cousins, and is going to show everyone he is in fact a top 10 WR and get a 4 year 50-60 million contract. Or he won't play very well and will get a 4 year, 32 million offer from someone else. Unless he gets injured he has nothing to lose at this point.
I had Terrell Pryor last year in fantasy and he was a great waiver wire addition. Pryor is great at shielding the ball and catching the ball away from his body. Nothing more difficult for a DB than a physical receiver with long arms and a skill set that is only going to get better with time. He's gonna be a top 10 receiver next year for sure.
I knew Pryor was legit when I saw him vs Tennessee live. Being right behind that endzone where he made that catch was something. Very excited to see what TP does in Washington this year
When you made the point about how the Browns weren't exactly using him to his full potential all the time with the type of routes he was running, I couldn't help but think of how well Corey Coleman would be able to fit that role. Maybe that's why the Browns were okay with letting Pryor walk? With a revamped O-line to give cannon-armed Deshone Kizer enough time in the pocket to take more deep shots (And since he's already shown good chemistry with Coleman in the pre-season and has called him his go-to target), the potential of Corey Coleman to be that guy seems pretty huge. And 140 targets are up in the air now that Pryor is gone, sure Britt will eat into that but Hue Jackson doesn't like him nearly as much as he likes Coleman. Coleman could have a big year.
Yeah we did. When he was on the chiefs for that short stint there were so many people just begging for him to please just play wr. All the tells were there that he could be a well above average nfl receiver. Exactly something the chiefs needed at the time.
I know of him sense high school and he was a top 100 espn basketball as well so it's not a surprise to me that he is doing great at a WR, he's a great athlete.
Deep balls to Pryor will be contested, with most defenders staying on him. DeSean Jackson would consistently get 3 to 5 yards separation on deep balls. Who else does that? No, don't mention Tyreek Hill, unfair genetics or something going on with Hill.
NeverTalkToCops1 Pryor is 6-5 and runs a 4.3, DBs won't be able to contest anything on deep balls, trust me. Separation isn't a problem when you're 6 inches taller than most DBs. He's Calvin Johnson 2.0 when it comes to the combination of size and speed. I think he'll put up bigger numbers in Washington than Jackson ever did. As for "3-5 yards separation," that's not always a speed thing, being an excellent route runner has a lot to do with it as well.
It really must be a dream to get paid to talk about football. I appreciate your work and you're an inspiration to me that I can get paid greatly to do what I love. Keep up the amazing work!
Hi Brett! Hey I just thought of this. You do an extremely good job of breaking down the athletic ability and fundamentals of what makes good/great football player. So i was wondering if you could do one on a recent HOF inductee maybe Tomlinson or Warner? Also with all the complaints of offensive lineman being not as good as they used to be could you do a video showing a comparative on a great lineman v what a lot of teams are dealing with today? THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THESE VIDEOS!!!
As usual, great video Brett. And your intuition is right. I knew Pryor was a good pick up for the Redskins because even on last years Madden 17. He would give me fits in franchise mode when I played the Browns vs Cowboys game. Pryor actually worries me as a Cowboy fan. Pryor facing the Cowboys' mainly rookie secondary could get ugly for them.
So...here's a thought: take a look back at videos like this one and try to explain why a player didn't pan out. I mean, Pryor was an absolute dud, though everyone seems to think Cousins is a star. So, how come it didn't work out in Washington for these two? Anyways, love your work and your analysis. Signed, a proud patron supporter
Hey man, recently stumbled upon your channel. Great content, I've been binge watching all of your vids! Could you do a video on Von Miller or TJ Ward? Keep up with the awesome content!
Could you follow up on this? Like a “what went wrong” video.
This video did NOT age well lol
yep just got released from the bills. FA now.
@@romain8390 yeah, THAT'S definitely it. No other factors played a role anywhere near "injury"
Brain injury.
Don't worry Brett, no one bats 1.000
He's had some terrible takes. Check the hackenberg video
@@pyrotechnic96 or the Clowney video
deafdragon88 most people thought Clowney was going to be fantastic. He is a great run defender but I swear only plays good in the first week of the season and prime time games. Disappears in other games
Should do a video on why him & the Redskins didn't work.
Was just thinking the same thing.. I just don't understand how he was such a disaster. I wouldn't mind them re-signing him another 1 year. It's wild how bad this pairing panned out..

Playmaker Pat Yeah I'd like that since he's probably gonna be the niners qb next year and im not sold on him.
sam gold did a breakdown of cousins. just type in sam gold kirk cousins
Yeah I've seen a good amount of Sam's videos, would really like to see what Brett's gotta say though. Could be two totally different opinions.
In my studies Kirk Cousins is a top 10 QB.
hes said after his brock osweiler vid that he avoids qb's because its just so much work.
that's why we will probably never see a Deshaun Watson vid :C:C:C

Yeah, I know the one. But it is still just that - one. Would love to have a mix so I wouldn't know what to expect.
The reason it feels like that is because he has broken down players that have had success. Since these guys have big plays against the best of the best as a football fan it's hard not to get excited.

Brent Williams eh
Pryor isn't blinding fast? He's 6'4-6'5 230lbs and ran 4.36 40 that's pretty damn fast especially at that size
I saw a lot of him at Ohio State. It took him several steps to get to full speed -- not like Braxton Miller who could accelerate from the get go. My fantasy WR were Jordy Nelson and Pryor... Finished the season with Funchess and Goodwin, lol.
if one player ruins your fantasy season you may not be all that good at fantasy
Fantastic video. Introduced me to a receiver I wasn't aware of and made me excited to see him playing. Looking forwards to seeing more from you.
This is starting to become my favorite channel on RUclips. No bullshit, and excellent analysis. Big ups!
I remember watching Pryor play at Ohio St. never would've thought he'd end up being a Wideout.
He caught a touchdown in college vs Texas I am pretty sure. It didn't surprise me too much.

i am a virgin to your work Brett Kollman - you have a new sub... this is phenomenal stuff. THANK YOU!
Brett, nice video. I love the WR breakdowns. It would be awesome if you did a breakdown of the 1st 3 drafted WR in the 2017 draft.

Also the Browns have only been historically awful post Art Modell moving the team

The dude's gonna be a beast this year. The Skins love to throw the deep ball and Pryor has the size and speed to feast on the NFC East secondaries
All he has to do is catch the ball and stay healthy
It really must be a dream to get paid to talk about football. I appreciate your work and you're an inspiration to me that I can get paid greatly to do what I love. Keep up the amazing work!
Proud of this dude man even though he didnt do too well with the Raiders at least he kept gridning to where he's at right now much respect TP ✊🏽
Can you do a video on Isaiah Crowell? I would really like to see how his improved o-line with translate to his game
big fan of Pryor and hope he continues to grow
Do one of the cowboys offensive linemen or the whole offensive line and show why they are DOMINANT
The publishing date reads Aug 4 2017. In the video Brett says Hue Jackson is currently the offensive coordinator of the Bengals.
This guy deserves way more subs
The Raiders actually wanted him to play WR but he refused to. He would have been a great WR for the Raiders today.
He's got a legit shot to make it happen with the Jets in a similar role as Robby Anderson played for them last season.
Probably the MOST gifted player in the NFL!!!
I would have picked him up. Always something about him that kept me interested in his playing. Even when he lit up my Dolphins.
GREAT analysis on his strengths and potential. What does he need to work on / build on?
Its gotten to the point where I like the video before i watch it lol Good Stuff as always. Too bad he left my Brownies :(
