For his first Patreon-requested video, Film Brain looks at the Strange story of the Full Moon superhero who bears a resemblance to a certain Marvel character...

This was well worth the money. Thank you so much for doing my Patreon Request, Matthew.
Gotta love Jeffery Combs in everything he does. He made the episodes of Enterprise he was in bearable. He was great as The Question. And of course his roles on DS9 were awesome. I'll have to check this movie out. Good review! Someone should do a history of comic book movies. Hint. Hint. Nudge. Nudge. Wink. Wink. =)
Thank you so much for this! One of my favorite Jeffery Combs movies. It was nice to see him in a charming leading-man role.
It was thanks to the 2007 DTV animated film that I've got to learn more about Dr. Strange than I did with the Spider-Man animated series from the 90's. As usual with their previous films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios has done an awesome job on finally bringing the Sorcerer Supreme to the big screen.
How did you manage to review a Jeffrey Combs movie without Diamanda Hagan demanding a presence?
Congratulations on your first Patreon request!
I've been following your work since your first appearance on TGWTG, sixteen years ago, and I've always had faith in your ability. You've not done a single disappointing thing.
Okay, enough kiss-up. Have a great Christmas, Mr Brain.
Combs and Brian Thompson? I'm suddenly interested.
Hey, this was one of the most enjoyable reviews you have ever done. Good work!
Not only was Doctor Mordrid meant to get a sequel, but was gonna have an avenger style crossover event with Mandroid and Dollman
I loved this. Very well researched and felt like a mix of the best parts of projector and the opening parts of BMB that are used to give context to the main movie. Can't wait to see more videos like this in the future.
Sounds like a mashup of Doctor Strange/Doctor Who
So happy to see a non-projector video! Get it up Matty!
This was fascinating :) Did you chose to do this as more of an analysis than a descriptive review or was it the Patron? Whoever it was, clever choice, this format is great!
The patron who asked me to do this review wanted me to look at the film, figuring it may be good for Bad Movie Beatdown material. I watched the film and didn't think it had enough material for that format, and being familiar with Oliver Harper's retrospectives (which I recommend, btw), I suggested maybe taking a similar approach to it, while taking my own style to it, which he was excited about. There's one more request currently that's also going to be done in this format.
Great retrospective. This was one of my favorite Full Moon movies. I will admit that I never made the Doctor Strange connection before. Hope for more videos like this in the future.
Thanks
0:28 to 1:08 GOD I LOVE THAT MUSIC!
You put in an unfathomable amount of work into your reviews etc.!!
Great review Matthew. I really need to get back into film.
At one point when you said: "Strange and Mordrid" I thought you said: "Strange and Mordo."
This was interesting! I appreciate a good, well research retrospective :D
Wow, I just bought this on DVD last week! What are the odds?
You have a LaLa Land Poster!!!!
I grew up with these movies. I appreciate that you see this fantastic B movie for what it is and don't just shit on it. Full Moon was so good, how did it become so bad?
I imagine I would like this just fine for what it is.
So this means Bad Movie Beatdown is back?
Here after finally watching the MST3K riff of this movie and honestly? It's not that bad. While the effects aren't great, they're not that bad and far from the worst we've seen on the show. It is a bit slow at times but other than that it's probably one of the best movies they've covered on the show.
Good job on the review I enjoy watching this movie too bad they didnt make a 2nd and 3rd they could do the comics
There is a certain charm to the film. That said the music and direction and editing seemed a bit of a jumbled mess. As a Doctor Strange fan only see after seeing the current if you would like to know how it could have gone.
Peet-Ron? I thought Patreon was pronounced as "Pat-Ree-On"
So Matthew, how was Collateral Beauty?
It doesn't open here until Boxing Day.
Film Brain You're going to "love" the movie.
Here 4 Jeffrey Combs
even with the new film, i still think the animated film is the best version of the character. much closer to the concept of magic dr strange was going for and no forced comedy like the new film
So is Bad Movie Beatdown pretty much dead at this point?
Have I said it was finished or cancelled? No.
Well that's good, just seems like it's been a long time since the last one.
Hey Film Brain, will you review my RUclips comments?
dat thinning hair
Happens to most guys, it'll happen to you too, unless you have really low testosterone.
Still wish superhero movies would die
Actually 1978 Doctor Strange looks like JOHN C. HOLMES!!!!!!!!🍆🍆🍆🍆🍆🍆🍆🍆
