Bought the P3 Pro last month...on my 12th flight, this is my first quadcopter and I absolutely love this little machine. I researched day in day out on everything there is to know on this and have no issues whatsoever with anything. Yes, I use the Ipad mini 2 retina with this and works perfect! Thanks for the tip on the Hoody, been looking for one for awhile now just ordered mine!
Nice review and video samples. I too am a new proud owner of a P3 and luv it. I also have a P2 and they are really night and day. I have to say, I was never a Vision or Vision Plus fan, but DJI really got it right this time. I agree with just about everything you mentioned in your review except about the gimbal drift. I find myself alway recalibrating mine and you can see it clearly in some of your samples too. I hope DJI address this issue and make the P3 the most perfect video drone on Earth.

I'm not an apple fan, could you recommend a nice, not too big & top heavy, android tablet that works well with the P3 Pro. Thanks, your review was very informative and comprehensive, great job. DJ SOUL FORCE
To Jack Corbeil: I tried 2 different Android devices and both had a bit of frame dropping which equated to slight jitter. I don't know if other people would mind it, but coming from standard FPV gear which has zero latency or jitter, it was noticeable and I didn't like it. Moving to an ipad Mini 2/3 eliminated that slight jitter completely. :-)
Yes you can, but you will need to upgrade the controller with a DJI HDMI controller module. They cost $99 and take about 15 mins to do the swap. I will have a video review of the module posted this weekend. Cheers.
+HeadUpKneeDown Yes, the mini 4 has a faster processor, thus it will process the video feed better with less lag or dropped frames. The mini 2 and mini3 had the same processor, that's why there isn't any performance improvement for the video feed with a mini3 over a mini2. Cheers!
Billy Smith Hi Billy, I'm using Adobe Premier Pro. It has options for adjusting speed and adding other speed blurring effects, etc. It's a great editing tool for sure.
+Zack Bozzo Hi Zack, the original iPad Air had the A7 processor, same as the mini2, but I was told that the coprocessor etc. was a bit better thus the iPad Air should have a slight advantage over the Mini2. The iPad Air2 has the A8X processor which is faster and superior to the Mini2/3 as well as the standard A8 processor in the Mini4. So, the iPad Air2 will outperform the Mini4. With that said, I haven't tested the Air2 or the Mini4, so I couldn't comment on whether the processing power difference will equate to any noticeable difference with the Phantom 3's video smoothness.
That is dji give android users a very poor app. They love apple and optimized it for apple only. Half the stuff is missing in the android app, they want you to buy an apple product, which is why the android app is crap. Not that they could not optimize it for android, they don't want to because they love apple.
