And they will invite a celebrity as a guest to pick Out who they think is tone deaf. There isn't a set limit of how many tone deaf or good Singers there must be. Sometimes there may only be 1 legit singer or 1 tone deaf. Last surviving person who wasn't eliminated gets to do a live duo with the celebrity(shown in this video)

I danced with him in a KPOP group at Ohio State called TPOK. He is literally the most talented, amazing, nicest guy I have ever known. When he told me he was moving to Korea to pursue a singing career, I had no doubt he would find his way. I have never been so proud to say I know someone before in my entire life!

I have seen a lot of ICSYV Episodes and I have observed that what makes this one of the best is because John Park *let* him sing. Some singers try to compete with the contestant but in this episode, John just let Joseph take the reigns and it turned out greeeat!

Joseph Butso has a big enough heart to fit all his beloved second home, Korea. I think, the moment they first heard his voice, he made several thousand friends.
Saw the audition and got me hooked to this. This black guy got Americans watching Korean shows. Can’t understand it, but it’s nice to see an exchange student sing a foreign song in a foreign country. It wasn’t too long ago that a Korean man sang an American country song perfectly, but didn’t know how to speak English. Things like these intrigued me and always got my attention.

Joseph is an amazing performer. We are both from Ohio and I had the opportunity to see him perform with his former Kpop dance crew TPOK (Top Pride Of Korea.) He works hard and I am sending lots of love his way!

Their voices sound so good together! I'm assuming that because they didn't know what his singing skill was ahead of time that Joseph and John didn't get to practice together. If that's true, then that harmony at 2:07 is all the more impressive. I literally cannot stop smiling. Also John Park's expressions crack me up every single time.
i think it helps that they're singing john's song because then he knows what key/note the contestant will sing "if" he/she can really sing. you should see the one ailee did on the first season of this show...that one was good as well. i also noticed that talented singers can usually harmonize quick because of their ability to recognize notes.
I think a lot of people misunderstand them.. they didn't make fun of him.. they just couldn't guess his age and they actually said that he looks like a actor and a talented person.. and they guessed he can understand korean because he reacted to them
If you watch more Korean show like the counselor etc.. you will see that taking the cap wasn’t disrespectful it’s just the way they are not only with black but with their own please instead of looking for small things to start racism think positive like if we black don’t accept them how can they accept us if we judge their culture they will judge ours too. Considering him and John Park have pretty similar vocal tone and both are baritones, there's a very little chance for him to get popular more than a couple months sadly. A weak tenor shouting high will get much more popular than a good baritone, it's sad
To a certain extend if they were doing KPOP stuff maybe...but John Park is moderately popular cos of the genre he has chosen. However this genre has the longest lifeline as its not based too much on gymnastic moved and acrobatics (you know Kpop/pop music tends to be more visual than voice substance or delivery). I have great hope that John Park's career is multi-based since he writes and produces. Joseph also has a different intro singing Gospel and Soul music. Their niche market is right here....us discovering them collectively and individually. What my spirit feels when listening to this song and their performance lasts me all day with a smile on my face....its actually hard to explain...but it feeds my soul. That is a long lasting quality I could pay money to go see them perform or listen to their CD (hoping here). And I haven't bought a CD/music or watched a live performance by choice in donkie years....But their show...I would break my piggy bank to go see and follow. The choice that the music industry makes these days is actually influenced by the audience/market. The fact that this has reached so many people globally means....its bigger than being manipulated by music industry people. They can just record together and publish their songs here online....cut out the middle man and be successful that way...its up to them...but whatever they do...Major support from me and I'm sure lots of people still downloading and listening to this every morning just to get that fix.....
He's also a Christian gospel singer! He does covers with a little group. I found some other videos under KNOCK or something like that. I don't know if you're religious or not but if you type in "KNOCK Joseph Busto" you can find it. But I have a religious background as well and God can anoint your voice to sound beautiful to reach to other people :)

Totally agree with you. I first thought the format allows the guest to practice sort of with candidates cos I couldn't believe that this was a raw performance. I mean when they harmonize and then add a few wooohoos...at the right place to give such a new and exciting rendition of the song....I mean its a bit unnerving and yet affirming that some moments in life are just meant to be. I have watched the show repeatedly since this and other episodes where the guest and candidate sing at the end...Some very successfully, but I ant lie and say it touched me as much as this duo. Saw the audition and got me hooked to this. This black guy got Americans watching Korean shows. Can’t understand it, but it’s nice to see an exchange student sing a foreign song in a foreign country. It wasn’t too long ago that a Korean man sang an American country song perfectly, but didn’t know how to speak English. Things like these intrigued me and always got my attention.

I love how John PARK switch instantly to match Joseph’s singing ❤ this makes me smile every time i rewatch this video, you can see they’re genuinely enjoying their time regardless of everything. True magic ❤
Their voices sound so good together! I'm assuming that because they didn't know what his singing skill was ahead of time that Joseph and John didn't get to practice together. If that's true, then that harmony at 2:07 is all the more impressive. I literally cannot stop smiling.
Also John Park's expressions crack me up every single time.
i think it helps that they're singing john's song because then he knows what key/note the contestant will sing "if" he/she can really sing. you should see the one ailee did on the first season of this show...that one was good as well. i also noticed that talented singers can usually harmonize quick because of their ability to recognize notes.

If he became an actual ost/ballad singer in SK, he would hit it big time. His voice is literally heaven on earth (I can see angel wings on him for some reason)
Considering him and John Park have pretty similar vocal tone and both are baritones, there's a very little chance for him to get popular more than a couple months sadly. A weak tenor shouting high will get much more popular than a good baritone, it's sad
To a certain extend if they were doing KPOP stuff maybe...but John Park is moderately popular cos of the genre he has chosen. However this genre has the longest lifeline as its not based too much on gymnastic moved and acrobatics (you know Kpop/pop music tends to be more visual than voice substance or delivery). I have great hope that John Park's career is multi-based since he writes and produces. Joseph also has a different intro singing Gospel and Soul music. Their niche market is right here....us discovering them collectively and individually. What my spirit feels when listening to this song and their performance lasts me all day with a smile on my face....its actually hard to explain...but it feeds my soul. That is a long lasting quality I could pay money to go see them perform or listen to their CD (hoping here). And I haven't bought a CD/music or watched a live performance by choice in donkie years....But their show...I would break my piggy bank to go see and follow. The choice that the music industry makes these days is actually influenced by the audience/market. The fact that this has reached so many people globally means....its bigger than being manipulated by music industry people. They can just record together and publish their songs here online....cut out the middle man and be successful that way...its up to them...but whatever they do...Major support from me and I'm sure lots of people still downloading and listening to this every morning just to get that fix.....
He's also a Christian gospel singer! He does covers with a little group. I found some other videos under KNOCK or something like that. I don't know if you're religious or not but if you type in "KNOCK Joseph Busto" you can find it. But I have a religious background as well and God can anoint your voice to sound beautiful to reach to other people :)

Totally agree with you. I first thought the format allows the guest to practice sort of with candidates cos I couldn't believe that this was a raw performance. I mean when they harmonize and then add a few wooohoos...at the right place to give such a new and exciting rendition of the song....I mean its a bit unnerving and yet affirming that some moments in life are just meant to be. I have watched the show repeatedly since this and other episodes where the guest and candidate sing at the end...Some very successfully, but I ant lie and say it touched me as much as this duo. I guess the cosmos were in the studio that dayThe second closet good duo is K.Will in season 2....I think episode 2 or 3.Does anyone know when they will release this version of the song.
