    I just bought mine on sale at Target today. The directions do not say how long it takes for the rice to be fully cooked. I buy brown jasmine rice. Any idea on this?

    • @Closkitchen
      @Closkitchen  2 года назад

      Sorry for the lare reply.It is usually 1 cup (the cup that come with the rice cooker) of rice to 1 cup of water. Jasmine rice can be very tricky where it can get muchy or sticky very fast which is the reeason why I do not use it. I would suggest testing it with the 1:1ratio and you can add water if needed when the rice starts to steam.Keep track of how much you are adding.I usually set up my rice to cook and continue the rest of the cooking and it is always ready within minutes before I am done cooking with the rest of the meal. I hope that this help. Let me know how it turned out. Thanks for watching🙂

    • @Closkitchen
      @Closkitchen  2 года назад +2

      You are so welcome! To my knowledge, it is exclusively for vegetables. I personally would not add seafood or meat to the steamer it will contaminate the rice. Thanks for watching🙂

      @@Closkitchen Oh damn! I ended up buying it today's morning and cooked lunch (rice with steamed salmon and broccoli) and ate it all 😅😅😅 it worked and cooked everything okay at least! One thing that left me apprehensive was this kind of soft burnt resistor smell coming from the heating base when i removed the inner pot to take out the rice. Is this normal as a first time use? I didn't leave it on the "keep warm" mode, as soon as it finished cooking i unplugged it and proceeded to remove the steamer tray and inner pot.
