I'm a 55 year old retired police Sgt. from Philly. I used to hate hip hop. That all changed recently when I came across you videos. I listened to the passion in your voice and decided to give it a chance. Wow! There is so much more going on than just rhyming some words. Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you for opening my eyes to a new world of music and keep making the educational videos.

Just imagine how much of an ego boost that must have been for both Em and Busta. To send a verse and go "Holy shit, I have to do more to match that or top it" again and again and again. Imagine having one of the rappers YOU respect so much hearing one of your verses and going "Damn, I have to step up my game AGAIN to match this mo-fo".
Yeah, I know that a lot of people will get upset about me saying this, but I think at the end of the day that Busta still came out ahead on "Calm Down" in regards to his part vs Em's part. But, that is like saying the guy who caught a 100 foot long great white shark is better than the guy who caught a 99 foot long great white shark. Yeah, someone caught "the bigger" shark, but when you go swimming in the ocean you don't want EITHER one of those damn sharks coming AFTER YOU!

M is 2 robotic sumtimes but miles ahead lyrically wit wordplay. I’m not da biggest Jay-Fan but he’s so slick & smooth on „Renegade“, just perfect, no competition & I ain’t bought 1 o his albums but almost hav da whole collection of M, Pac & Nas.
      4 x-ample: M won „Speedom“ by far & sounds perfect on „Zeus“ without speed-rapping.
Tech N9ne & Busta Rhymes h@ da best verses on „Worldwide Choppaz“. Twista is a Monsta but was boring on dat 1.

      @joshuaha7661 3 года назад +8

@@giulioboobzilla i can understand that, i definitely agree about "Worldwide Choppers"
But in my opinion, Em is just saying too much lyrically to sound robotic at least most of the time. Like Twista definitely sounds robotic to me just because he's not saying much. Just my opinion. But on "Calm Down" I would say Busta took it, for the same reasons you said. Em had kind of a robotic sound on "Speedom" too(he wasn't really sayin anything, just rhyming really fast) but i know it's just because he knew how much of a competitor Tech N9ne was gonna be. and id say Tech took it just because of that. Tech sounded more like himself than Em did. Its close tho.
But on "Forgot about Dre" and "Renegade" especially, i feel Em just knocked it out the park. Not saying I hate Jays verses, but Em was saying so much relevant shit on that record, and rhyming/barring Jay to death. But I respect your opinion, and definitely see where you're comin from. 👍🔥

      @@joshuaha7661 itz hard 2 x-plain but I look @ it differently. I know da „robotic“ dat U mean on „Speedom“ but 2 me M won creatively like he could massacre anybody lyrically x-cept Ab-Soul & K.Dot.
He did dis on „Calm down“ AND „Renegade“ but even if he h@ 100 bars more content he couldn’t beat Busta‘s energy or Jay‘s style & finesse on dat particular song - difficult 2 describe - Jay-Z is second 2 none on dat beat - he’s painting pictures like Nas poetry flowing like royal velvet, technically but not technically speaking. M is a RapGod but not in dat class - he can write his azz off lyrically, tell stories & all dat but he’s 2 robotic when the emphasis is on street „poetry“ - may-b da best Jay-Z verses i‘ve ever heard. By da way: Twista is very underrated lyrically plus when he switches flows - he was only boring on „WWChoppaz“. „Forgot about Dre“-Hook is catchy but it hurts my ears. His verse is betta than da hook, still Dre’s parts r bulldozing. M was cooler on „what’s da difference“.
Nobody can do what M does on songs like „Role Model“ & shit but Jay-Z owns „Renegade“ like Moby Dick - M is a dolphin, he won barwise but datz different :) no disrespect but itz like comparing „Dear Mama“ wit „Cleaning out my closet“.

Not going to lie, this may be my favorite video that you have done; One, I have been enjoying your videos for a long time and always welcomed your take/deep thinking of lyrics and "bars". Two, bringing videos like this to my attention; Listening to the thought processes of different artists with the collaborations as well as the legend, Busta's thoughts are truly captivating, to say the least. Thank you for this.

I was introduced to Busta way back in 91 when Scenario came out with Tribe Called Quest and have followed him ever since! He is for sure a top 5 of all time! So very few rappers are on his level. He truly loves what he does and it shows and even though he knows he's a monster on the mic, he's humble and give props to those that keep him on that level like Em and Ken.

That passion is what really comes through in their music. And why i love it so much. Its not just words to them. Its a feeling and they have a masterful way of helping us see that vision.

Love your reaction bro, a true hip hop head. I remember when busta came to North London in the early 90's and his energy live on stage was amazing from start to finish, I have not seen alike since .I At one point he gave the mike to someone in the crowd and they did a little rap and dissed him!.....Busta laughed, took the mike back and murdered him! Lool....a night I never will forget. When I put all factors together Busta is in my top five, a true legend.

That Busta and Kendrick track is absolute 🔥🔥🔥
Hearing that story behind Calm Down - man, that sort of passion for the art of Hip Hop is so dope to me and why I struggle to get excited for a lot of these young artists coming up.
Very few of these kids showcase that sort of passion for the music - I may just be on my old man shit though. Jay Cole, Kendrick, Big Sean, Joey Badass and few others seem to have that magic.
That Extinction Level Event 2 album is 🔥
