Sure, I’ll give it a shot! Let me just ask my mom real quick but I can’t stay up past 9 & I’m lac toast intolerant
You lack the toast? Damn sounds like you need a good round through the18D trauma stations to help you handle toast better.

The way the military is politicized (aka pussified) don't be so sure it won't get there!
I’m 18x, I’m shipping out on January 25, 2021 for basic super excited and super nervous at the same time 😅
Have fun bud they are going to put you in a high speed high stress platoon in basic ...you have a long road ahead of you main thing is not get injured you should be training training and training some more ...those rucksack marches at Q course broke a lot of men. Wish you the best of luck lil battle buddy and hope you make it through ...my advice to you would’ve been to go in with a RIP contract hopefully get thru Ranger school they’ll make a man out of you there and then apply for SF when you are already physically and mentally ready

If you havent already checked it out, i suggest you do "Life is a special operation" the guy running it is a former SF lt.Colonel if im not completely misstaken. He provides some great tips going into SF. Good Luck mister!
Good luck bro. Remember, be a sponge and learn as much as you can. Dont get cocky and dont let your ego get to you. Give your best EVERY DAY and NEVER QUIT!
I’m an 11B & it was the best time ever when my platoon had the chance to work & train with the SF Guys, they were so humble and they’re teaching was to the point and understanding. It was one of the coolest times I’ve had in the army. And at the end of our week training with them they asked who wanted to drop a packet, I remember SSG O’Kelly told me, the reason why most people drop an SF packet. Is because they see how we operate and they enjoy working with us.
Amazing what the information age has brought us. I really envy today's recruits in that they have access to so much information before they make their decision and enlist in their branch of choice. I knew practically nothing when I joined the Marines back in '85.
Do you regret not going into a different branch?
Thank you for your service 🇺🇸
@@GiDD504 Not at all. It’s just that I would have been better prepared and would have planned my career better. I loved the Corps while I was in.
Yep. I was pretty much told to be ready to run to you puke, walk until your feet bleed, and do both in horrible conditions.... sign here.
@@dadof3tngirls that’s how it should be. Now recruiters pretty much have to sweet talk most enlísteles cuz they’re so soft. Mentally and physically not willing to suffer. This is part of the job. Embrace it! Enjoy it! Thank you for your service! 💯
Here I was expecting to see a video about the actual 18X experience -- not another overall summary of SFAS/QC.
Good luck to all y’all going out for sf

It's true that in a state of total war, all military assets are, ultimately, expendable. But it doesn't follow that the casus belli is unworthy of sacrifice.

Made 18x-ray on recruitment 😮
When I served , u had to be E5 to go to selection.... when did they change that?
Sometime in the early 2000s
They still have it but the 18x is more of a alternative option for those who want to go straight to sf
To elaborate a little more.. you still have to be E5 to try out for SF if you're already in the Army. 18X is for civilians that want to go SF immediately. But, if an 18X fails, they can never try out for SF again and get booted to conventional Army.
@@brandonhaymaker9433 not completely true just signed a 18x contract and if you don't get selected you go airbourne infantry or some other combat mos, and if you don't get selected you can try again as long as you don't tap out and quit during selection. Leaving in one month Ft Benning

Just give it a quick Google and get in contact with your local recruiter since they should be able to answer most questions. Also don't do active duty do your states Natinal Guard or reserves

You would have to join the military first
I was prior service 18X in 1990. I rejoined to go to Iraq to drive trucks or whatever when Saddam invaded Kuwait. They would only let me in as 18X. We were hated by the SWC Cadre. They took my asthma medicine during equipment inspection for SFAS. They gave us bogus grid coordinates. I ended up walking to Aberdeen one night. It was bullshit in 1990 so I hope they treat the kids joining as 18X better today. I didn't make it.
With all of those excuses I can only wonder why you didn’t make it.
I'm sure you are right.
On some real shit I need a recruiter to hmu I’m deadass trying to join
You can probably just look it up. There should be a recruiter near you or thered be an email adress for you to shoot a message to.

Do green beret do HALO?
Yes
There are 6 detachments in a special forces company commanded by Operational Detachment Bravo. Pretty sure all Green Berets qualify in HAHO free fall.
Each detachment has their own specialty. One of the detachments is filled with HALO qualifiers.

Freeing the oppressed? Maybe we should focus on that at home rather than abroad at the moment, none the less amazing job amazing people.
DO NOT GO 18X. if you want to go to selection sign an 11x airborne contract first. the minimum contract for a 18x is 5 years if you somehow fail selection you will be stuck at some unit you don't want to be at for a long time. you also don't see any of your bonus unless you pass the Q course. just go 11x airborne with a 3 year contract, you'll most likely get stationed at bragg anyway then you can go to selection from there. even if you fail selection you'll have a shorter contract AND will have a bonus if you go 11x
just... no. just be prepared enough to succeed in sfas in the first place and you don't have to worry about it. there is no "just in case i fail i can leave the military asap." if you go in with that attitude, you shouldn't be sf in the first place. it's not about doing cool shit. it's about serving.
I just need to score good on the ASVAD right also I'm doing constant workout at my college gym
My husband wants this MOS.
And? Why do you have to tell us? Tell him to suck it up and go try out for selection. 30 out of 300 guys make it through so good luck to him.
On average, 70 out of 300 guys make it through selection then half get dropped from the Q Course.
@@MM-qt8gz you don''t get dropped from the q, you have to quit. Also stfu its generally half of the sfas class that make it to the end

HAHAH!🤣🤣you have no clue what you're talking about! 1. totally different roles and uses by their respective governments. 2. it's not even a unit lmfao. 18x is a contract and if they past sfas and mos training, they go to the unit that they are assigned to. 3. as cool as sas is/presents themselves to be, they rely a lot on american troops and sof to succeed.
