bought one exactly 3 months ago, worked great until today when it started glowing the red LED while in bright sun, and not charging anything. i can only hope they provide decent customer support.
AMAZON: AMONIDA 21W 5V Dual Portable Folding USB Port Portable Solar Panel Bag Rustproof Solar Starter Kit Waterproof Charger Charging Solar Panel for Camping, Outdoor Activity Brand: AMONIDA Price: $8.69
I have one of these and really like it for self-contained bicycle touring and camping. Tried a different brand first but returned it because it didn't work. Then I went with the Anker charger and it works great... I've been p!eased with all the Anker products I've purchased. I have been pleasantly surprised with how quickly this solar panel chargers my devices (phones, storage bricks, bike lights and computers, etc.).
Great review, I watched a few but found this to be the most helpful. I'll be getting one of these to pair with my Anker battery packs while I go on a 3 week trek.
My worry is: how well do the two Anker devices work together. I've read that the varying current levels coming from the solar panels (due to clouds, etc.) can cause the power bank to "turn off", and stop charging, even though the clouds move past, and the panels are back in full sunlight. Why doesn't anyone talk about that?
Most of the power banks would charge it again after clouds. I have 2 batteries charging again but got an old one and it does not charge again after clouds or rain vs.
What is the difference in time taken to fully charge the Anker Power bank with one micro USB attached to the solar panel versus 2 micro USB ports attach to both USB outputs on the solar panel?
I already have a power bank, but it only has one single USB input for charging from the solar panel. I am wondering if it would be worthwhile for me to get a new power bank with 2 USB inputs to get faster charge times to fully top up the power bank?
When you buy one of these usb solar chargers and you want to charge a power bank can you charge any brand of power bank or are you limited to only using the same brand charger and power bank? I am thinking of buying one to charge my Cygnett 10,000Mah power bank, also not sure what size solar charger I need to charge 10,000Mahs in a officiant time.
You lose efficiency if you charge pbank and then from pbank the phone. If your mobile is empty, its better to charge it straight from the panel and only extra energy to let go into power bank. Plus I would charge the phone (and PWbank) only to 80% in order phone afterwards the bank and only then I would try to tp of the phone and the pw bank
Charging of a bank allows you to charge your devices when the sun's not out. if you need to charge your phone when the sun's out it's going to charge it directly and then charge a bank so you have a backup.
@@TheBreakdownWithLuke I think we're saying the same, I thought your process is always to charge the ban and then the phone. If you plug in empty phone during the day straight to the solar panel, then its ok..
Good review, thanks for this. I would have liked to have seen an example of the device charging a phone or tablet in different levels of sunlight to show how well it works. Have you tried out any competitors? RAVPower, Goal Zero, BigBlue, etc.? I bought a Goal Zero 7 several years ago and it unfortunately turned out to be a total bust, completely useless. I've been hesitant to try another since, but the allure of taking my phone and tablet off grid is too great.
wow i bought one and it only worked for 5 minutes the yesterday ( the day i got it inside unboxing ).Today i went to actually take it outside and in full south australian sun the red light is not coming on ......... so annoyed.
Its nice stuff... we all know black color increasing temperature and when temp increase the resistance increase …. why anker company choose black color for this product ?

Id really like to know the same thing. Guess we wait for the answer.
It's 26800 mAh as he put in details
How durable are these solar cells? What Happens if it bends or breaks?
They are durable but you still need to take care of them. Not something you want to be jumping up and down on.
So this with my 2 power banks and my inreach mini with a water proof bag and I think I’m ready to go sailing the high seas lol

You should pretty much always charge a power bank with panels.

Does this work without sun and does this have Quick charging 3.0
