Absolutely. Jamaica literally invented hip hop with "toasting" which was brought over to the US and adopted/adapted in NY as the foundation of what we know today. For such a tiny island, it easily has the most disproportionate global reach.
There is a elevated level of consciousness that rastafarianism brings to the people (especially western people) that is undeniable.
